ABOUT THE JOB Inhouse Sales is one of Portfolio's two core value-capture engines, alongside Retention, reporting to the Portfolio Director. The organization is roughly 40 FTEs today, scaling to 70 by end-2026 and 100 by end-2027. This is a manager-of-managers role: you lead through Team Leaders and are judged on whether they can run their teams without you, while staying hands-on when a motion isn't converting or a Team Leader isn't hitting standard. The Mission Increase the value of Flatpay's existing German merchant base through the motions Inhouse Sales owns: upsales, takeovers, new sales, sold via outbound and teleclose. The scope will keep expanding (capital, e-com, banking), so the role is defined by the operating model you build, not today's product list. Why This Role Matters As Germany's portfolio grows and value levers multiply, surcharge, capital, DCC, e-commerce, Inhouse Sales stops being a call centre and becomes the mechanism through which Flatpay systematically captures value it already paid to acquire. This is one of the highest-leverage hires Portfolio will make this year. WHAT YOU'LL DO Commercial strategy and execution. Set the strategy, decide resourcing across merchants, products, and campaigns, and hold the organization to targets tied to real financial value, not just installations. Performance and business understanding. Diagnose whether a gap is people, targeting, proposition, process, incentives, or data quality, before it shows up in NDR. Requires fluency in conversion, rate uplift, CBM, cancellations, infancy churn, and CAC payback. Leadership and organizational scaling. Build a Team Leader bench and succession pipeline. Design org structure, spans of control, and management routines for 70 then 100 FTEs without losing speed or customer quality. Recruit the leadership talent this scale needs. Sales culture. Competitive, ambitious, accountable, with managers actively managing performance rather than reporting it. Merchant quality over raw activity metrics. Operating model and process. Own cadences, forecasting, pipeline reviews, allocation, campaign management, and CRM discipline. Build onboarding and QA that gets sellers productive fast. Shape commission structures that reward the right behavior. Cross-functional leadership. Partner with Retention, Marketing/MCC, Field Sales, Onboarding, Operations, Product, Finance, and Data. Turn frontline signal into fixes rather than excuses. Represent Inhouse Sales at Germany and Group leadership level. What Success Looks Like Installation growth built on merchants that stay and expand. Rising surcharge/POS adoption, rate uplift, and CBM. Falling avoidable cancellations and early-life deactivations. Measurable contribution to NDR. On-schedule scaling with accurate forecasting. A strong, increasingly independent Team Leader layer with low regretted attrition. New motions launching on time and ramping as planned. WHO YOU ARE Leadership Style and Personal Characteristics First, a salesperson: driven, competitive, allergic to passive execution, but with genuine curiosity about merchant economics and portfolio dynamics, able to turn a data pattern into a specific action. Direct and accountable without hiding behind process. Hands-on when execution breaks, but building leaders and systems deliberately since 100 FTEs can't run on your personal involvement. Not corporate, not politically cautious, more interested in building something than inheriting something finished. Must-haves * Significant experience leading a high-performance sales org with real commercial ownership * Experience managing managers, not just individual contributors * Track record of scaling a sales team and the structure underneath it * Strong analytical instincts: funnels, conversion, incentive design, forecasting, data-driven decisions * Background in inside sales, telesales, or another high-velocity commercial environment * Strong communication and senior stakeholder management * Fluency in English; German fluency a strong advantage Nice-to-haves * Fintech/payments/SaaS experience; experience designing commission schemes. * Payments experience is not a substitute for commercial intelligence and leadership capability. WHY FLATPAY? At Flatpay, your commitment matters - and we reward it with benefits that truly support you in everyday life: * A high level of responsibility, short decision-making paths, and direct influence on building our German sales organization * A fast-growing fintech environment with a clear product, transparent pricing structure, and strong market potential * Personal development through coaches, mentors, and a professional e-learning system * Subsidy for the Deutschlandticket or BVG subscription * Subsidy for Urban Sports Club membership * Lunch vouchers for four meals per week * Free drinks and protein snacks in the office * Modern workstations with high-quality equipment and height-adjustable desks * Subsidy for company pension scheme * Up to 28 vacation days, depending on length of service * Regular team events, offsites, and celebrations
Ready to run your own P&L? We want to meet you before we have the opening. Champions Group is building a standing bench of General Manager talent — ready to step in and lead a residential HVAC, Plumbing, and/or Electrical business the moment the right opportunity opens across our operating footprint. This isn't a training program, and there's no fixed seat waiting for you on day one. It's a standing bench: we're identifying strong leaders now, so that when a GM seat opens in any of our markets, we already know exactly who to call. We're looking for two kinds of leaders: people who've led teams in residential HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, or another home-services trade and are ready for their first shot at full P&L ownership — and current GMs, often at smaller brands, ready to bring their experience to a larger, multi-brand platform. What Makes This Different * You're joining a bench, not applying to a single opening. We continuously evaluate and onboard ready leaders, then match you to the right seat as soon as one opens in a market that fits. * Multi-brand platform, local ownership. You'll get the resources, systems, and support of a national platform spanning 20+ affiliate brands, with the autonomy to run your market as if it were your own business. * Your next seat could be anywhere in our footprint. We operate in California, Nevada, Washington, Arizona, Texas, Ohio, and Colorado — location flexibility meaningfully speeds up your placement. * Real support to ramp fast. Mentorship from sitting GMs and a structured onboarding into our systems and operating model — built so you're set up to win from day one, not sent in cold. What You'll Do (Once Placed) * Own full P&L and operational performance for your branch — revenue, margin, labor productivity, and customer experience. * Lead department managers (service, install, sales, dispatch/CSR) and, through them, a team of technicians and support staff. * Set local market strategy — pricing, marketing spend, competitive positioning — in partnership with platform leadership. * Recruit, develop, and retain top field and office talent. * Read a branch scorecard and turn the numbers into action: pricing, marketing spend, technician productivity, and customer experience. What We're Looking For We're building this bench around two entry points: * Team leaders ready to step up: 3–5+ years leading a team — Service Manager, Install Manager, Sales Manager, or similar — in residential HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, or another home-services trade, with real experience running a full center's operations (not just a crew). * Current GMs ready to scale up: Already running a General Manager seat, often at a brand under $20M in revenue, looking to bring that experience to a larger, multi-brand platform with more resources and a longer runway. * Working knowledge of field service principles — labor forecasting, dispatching, price/hour estimation — and workforce scheduling. * Comfort with CRM/ERP and dispatch platforms; ServiceTitan experience is a plus. * Sound financial judgment — comfortable owning a budget and being held accountable for gross profit and growth. * Full flexibility to relocate to one of our operating markets — exact location is matched to you as opportunities open, not fixed upfront. Where You'll Land This bench feeds GM placements across every market we operate. Relocation is required, but your specific market is determined during the process — matched to open needs and your fit, not assigned on day one. State Metro California San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, Sacramento and Santa Rosa Nevada Las Vegas and Reno Washington Seattle, Everett, and the surrounding Arizona Phoenix and the surrounding Texas Dallas–Fort Worth & Austin Ohio Dayton, Cincinnati Colorado Denver and the surrounding What We Offer * Competitive compensation aligned to your placement — base salary of 200-225K. Once you are in place as a GM at one of our locations, you will become eligible for additional compensation (performance bonuses and company equity) plus additional perks! * Relocation assistance to your matched market. * Direct mentorship from active General Managers as you ramp into the seat. * Full benefits package — medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match. * The backing of a national platform with the growth trajectory of a company that's just getting started. Why Champions Group We're not asking you to wait for a title to open up — we're asking you to get ready for it now. If you've led a team in this industry and you're ready for full P&L ownership, or you're already a GM ready to step up to a bigger platform, this is how you get in front of your next seat before it's posted. #CGHP Pay Range $200,000—$225,000 USD About Champions Group: Champions Group is a nationwide leading provider of essential home services specializing in heating, air conditioning and plumbing services.
