Electrical Commissioning Technician

LotusWorks is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, integral to our people-first approach.  As an Electrical Commissioning Technician working with the LotusWorks team, you will be based on a client site within the Semiconductor sector at a state‑of‑the‑art facility in Leixlip, Co. Kildare. In this role, you will join a highly experienced onsite team responsible for the delivery of Electrical LV system scopes within an active manufacturing environment. LotusWorks has provided continuous support to this client site for over two decades, backed by established onsite management structures, reliable administrative support, and a collaborative, performance-driven team culture. RESPONSIBILITIES: * This position is responsible for the commissioning and de-commissioning of a range of LV Electrical Systems, including but not limited to those listed below: * LV Distribution Panels (Continuous & Emergency Power)  * Distribution Panels (General Services)  * LCP / MCC Panels  * Transformers  * UPS Systems  * VSDs / VFDs & Associated Motors, Pumps, Fans  * Heat Trace Systems  * Process Tool Energisations & De-Energisations * Work as an Electrical Commissioning Technician as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team supporting Electrical commissioning and de-commissioning activities. * Document, execute, and close out Electrical LSRs (Live Service Requests) and DSLs (De-Installs). * Prepare Electrical power‑up documentation in line with the tool installation process. * Demonstrate ownership and initiative in a high‑paced, schedule‑driven environment. * Deliver assigned tasks in line with project milestones and safety requirements. * Carry out all duties in a manner that poses no risk to personnel safety or facility operations. * Commission & De-Commission Electrical Systems in accordance with project specifications and site procedures. * Perform pre-flight commissioning & de-commissioning site field walks and document any issues found / generate punch lists for resolution, prior to handover. * Work with Operations and Engineering teams to develop testing protocols and system start‑up procedures. * Safely troubleshoot and resolve Electrical issues in a live manufacturing environment. * Generate and execute commissioning documentation including OATs and FATs (Operational and Functional Acceptance Tests). * Work to tight timelines while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. * Ensure documentation complies with client quality and commissioning requirements. * Generate, execute, and maintain commissioning documentation in a controlled and organised manner. * Record test results and system performance data. * Support the closure of identified field issues and verify that all corrective actions have been effectively implemented. * Interact and respond to Project and Commissioning Leads direction. * Attend daily meetings and provide accurate status updates on assigned systems and activities. * Co-ordinate with commissioning, operations, engineering, and safety teams to support system readiness. * Execute all works in strict accordance with site safety protocols, procedures, permits, and approved documentation. * The role involves the commissioning and de-commissioning of multiple Electrical Systems, executed with unwavering adherence to COHE (Control of Hazardous Energy) procedures to ensure the highest standards of safety and operational control. * Maintain exceptional attention to detail & safety standards, particularly when working on live Electrical Systems Identify, report, and mitigate any risks associated with Electrical commissioning and de-commissioning activities * Communicate clearly and professionally with peers, supervisors, and client stakeholders.  SKILLS REQUIRED: * Strong working knowledge of LV Electrical Systems, including operation, design, and testing practices. * Proven experience in the start‑up and commissioning of Electrical equipment and systems. * Proficient in incorporating LOTO (Lock Out/Tag Out) and COHE procedures in operational environments to ensure equipment isolation, hazard control, and personnel safety. * Knowledge of VSD & VFD drives is considered an advantage. * Demonstrated understanding of MCCB types and their performance characteristics is considered a notable advantage. * High attention to detail, particularly regarding safety‑critical systems. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic fast‑paced environment. * Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite applications, with the ability to produce accurate documentation and support operational tasks. * Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills. * Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.    EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: * Time‑served Electrical Trade qualification, or a Degree in Electrical Engineering. * A minimum of four years of applicable Electrical industry experience. * Certification in Electrical testing & verification is considered an advantage. * Proof of education, trade credentials, and any other additional certifications will be required where applicable. The position requires extensive travel to new and existing client locations to ensure successful project startup, execution, and contract delivery. The individual will play a key role in establishing strong client relationships, driving technical excellence, and ensuring consistent safety and quality standards across all deployments. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Travel to new project sites to initiate electrical commissioning scopes and establish strong client relationships for long-term success. * Travel to existing project sites to assess performance and address concerns related to commissioning delivery. * Support multiple electrical commissioning deployments throughout the year based on project requirements. * Lead electrical commissioning activities across project phases including planning, startup, testing, and handover. * Train and mentor commissioning engineers and technicians to ensure high-quality electrical commissioning delivery. * Develop and elevate team members into leadership roles during site deployments. * Support the development of electrical commissioning training materials and subject matter content. * Provide oversight and support across multiple commissioning support services contracts when deployed. * Ensure the LotusWorks safety culture is implemented and maintained across all assigned project sites in coordination with EHS teams. * Ensure delivery of site-specific electrical commissioning contract requirements in alignment with client expectations. * Establish, monitor, and maintain LotusWorks quality standards across all electrical commissioning activities. * Ensure project resource planning is effectively applied to meet electrical commissioning scope and timelines. * Conduct site audits to verify contractual compliance and quality of electrical commissioning delivery. * Lead coordination with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure system readiness and successful commissioning outcomes. * Provide feedback and implement improvements based on site performance, audits, and lessons learned. * Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role. SKILLS REQUIRED: * Strong knowledge of electrical commissioning processes including switchgear, transformers, UPS, and power distribution systems. * Proven experience leading electrical commissioning activities across multiple sites or large-scale projects. * Ability to manage and support strategic deployments in dynamic, fast-paced environments. * Strong leadership and mentorship skills with the ability to develop commissioning teams. * Excellent communication and client relationship management capabilities. * Experience with commissioning tools and platforms for tracking progress and documentation. * Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and resolve technical and operational issues. * Experience conducting audits, ensuring compliance, and maintaining quality standards. * Strong organizational and planning skills, including resource and schedule management. * Willingness and ability to travel extensively based on project deployment requirements. * Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred. * OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred. * NETA certification preferred. * Project Management certification preferred. * Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable.
