The Opportunity: Your Next Big Leap @Qover
You’re not looking to churn through tickets — you want to build systems that matter, at meaningful scale, alongside a team that values strong engineering.
At Qover, you’ll help power embedded insurance experiences used by leading brands like Revolut, Mastercard, BMW, and Monzo. Our platform operates across 32 countries and supports millions of end users through our partners.
We’re entering our next phase of growth and investing in the reliability, scalability, and developer experience of our platform. We’re looking for engineers who care about clean architecture, pragmatic decision-making, and building software that lasts.
Your Impact: What You’ll Do
As a Sr. Full-Stack Engineer at Qover, you’ll take ownership of complex features end-to-end — from design discussions through implementation, deployment, and monitoring. You’ll contribute to architectural decisions and help evolve our platform as we scale. Here is a taste of what you will be working on:
● Use AI thoughtfully — in development and beyond: We encourage responsible use of AI-assisted tools to improve productivity, code quality, and documentation. You’ll also have space to explore where emerging AI capabilities could meaningfully enhance our product, in collaboration with engineering and product leadership.
● Design and evolve scalable services and APIs: You’ll build and maintain Node.js services and React applications that support high availability, strong performance, and international scale.
● Build for performance and reliability: You’ll design data models in MongoDB, optimize API performance, and ensure services are observable, testable, and resilient. Because leading global brands rely on our platform, you’ll ensure our integrations are reliable, secure, and performant. Our infrastructure runs on Google Cloud, and we continuously improve our deployment, monitoring, and scaling practices.
● Design with security and privacy in mind: You’ll implement secure authentication and authorization flows, protect sensitive data, and follow best practices for compliance and data protection.
● Contribute to a strong engineering culture: Through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentoring, you’ll help raise the technical bar across the team.
Your Arsenal: The Skills You Bring
● Strong professional experience building and operating production systems (typically 5+ years).
● Strong engineering fundamentals and architectural thinking. We operate a microservices-based platform using Node.js, React, and MongoDB. Experience with distributed systems, service boundaries, and API design is important.
If you come from ecosystems like Java, C#, Go, or Python and have successfully worked in production systems at scale, we value your ability to adapt.
● Strong sense of ownership and accountability. You take responsibility for the quality, security, and maintainability of what ships — and you provide thoughtful, high-signal code reviews.
● Experience designing and maintaining robust RESTful APIs.
● Strong Git skills and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
● Experience integrating third-party services and managing data consistency across systems.
● Experience working with cloud environments (GCP preferred). Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
The Vibe: Who You Are
● The Pragmatic Builder: You care about clean, readable code and details — and you know when to prioritize shipping and iteration.
● The Adaptable Explorer: You’re comfortable in a scale-up environment: shifting priorities, ambiguity, and finding the highest-impact work.
● The Communicator: You communicate clearly in writing and in conversation, ask good questions, and collaborate well across functions.
● The Fun Co-Worker: You’re constructive, kind, and collaborative. You enjoy sharing knowledge through code reviews, pairing, and mentoring.
Your Support System: What We Give You
● Hybrid & remote-friendly: We welcome candidates across Europe. Our Brussels office is a key collaboration hub, and many team activities take place there, but we support flexible remote arrangements and up to one month per year working from anywhere globally.
● A Hub When You Want It: Full access to our dedicated space at WeWork in Brussels (Rue du Commerce 31) for when you want collaborative whiteboard sessions or legendary team events on the terrace.
● Exceptional Culture: A deeply collaborative, inclusive community where you are valued for exactly who you are, regardless of nationality, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, or background.
● Massive Growth: You’ll join during a high-growth phase, with opportunities to influence our core platform architecture, backend microservices, and overall developer experience.
