ABOUT WOLT At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we’re building the delivery of (almost) everything and you’ll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe. Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life. As a Staff Mobile Engineer in Global Retail, you'll shape how customers discover, browse, and buy retail products - apparel, beauty, electronics, auto parts and more - across Wolt, DoorDash and Deliveroo. Retail is a large growth opportunity for the business, and our mission is to be the most trusted and magical way to shop the brands and local stores customers love. You'll play a key role in making that real on mobile - from product discovery through to shopping experience in the apps millions of people use every day. You’ll join an evolving area where we are replacing and improving parts of the existing consumer apps, owning specific retail journeys within large-scale B2C applications. This means working in a complex environment where multiple teams own different parts of the same app, and where strong technical judgment is needed to create consistency, quality and speed across teams. This role is primarily iOS-focused, but combined iOS + Android experience is a strong plus. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING * Leading complex cross-team initiatives through design, implementation, launch, and operational ownership, partnering with product, design, and business stakeholders to deliver measurable impact. * Driving and implementing native iOS and Android initiatives within shared consumer-facing apps - where retail teams ship alongside teams owning other journeys in the same applications - balancing speed, quality, and long-term maintainability. * Working within and helping evolve our server-driven UI (SDUI) approach, going beyond UI implementation to design configurable, component-based views. * Anticipating future product and architectural needs while establishing engineering standards across architecture, testing, release processes, observability, and incident management - proactively addressing scalability, performance, and reliability. * Championing AI-enabled tooling and practices that help mobile engineers move faster, without lowering the bar on quality. * Communicating complex technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders - with clear estimates, timelines, and trade-offs that support predictable delivery. * Mentoring engineers - including those transitioning into mobile - and upholding engineering culture and best practices across teams. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * Deep expertise in mobile development and particularly with the iOS ecosystem, including modern best practices, performance optimization, observability, modularity, SDK design, server-driven UI, CI/CD, and the navigating the AppStore processes. * Experience operating at Staff Engineer level or equivalent scope, having led cross-team / cross-org initiatives. * A track record working on large-scale, native consumer (B2C) applications, ideally at a company where app ownership is split across multiple teams by vertical or feature area. * A pragmatic, impact-oriented mindset with a bias for action and simple, effective solutions. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity and execution in a fast-changing business environment. * Ability to influence and align stakeholders through clear communication and technical leadership. * Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to a culture of continuous learning. * Practical experience using AI as part of your engineering toolkit, with good instincts for validation, quality, and when not to take output at face value. * Being familiar with Android, along with iOS, is a plus. LOCATION 📍This role can be based in one of our tech hubs - Helsinki or Berlin OUR COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION We’re committed to growing and empowering a more inclusive community within our company, industry, and cities. That’s why we hire and cultivate diverse teams of people from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We believe that true innovation happens when everyone has room at the table and the tools, resources, and opportunity to excel.
ABOUT PARLOA Parloa’s mission is to make every customer conversation feel effortless for both customers and the companies serving them. As agentic AI accelerates, Parloans are shaping the foundation of a new era in customer experience, one where customer support is no longer transactions, but meaningful exchanges. It is not just a vision; Parloa has powered over ONE BILLION interactions between global enterprise brands and their customers, with companies like Booking.com, HealthEquity, Allianz, SAP, BarmeniaGothaer, and TUI already deploying Parloa at scale. Frontend engineers at Parloa primarily strengthen our central frontend platform—microfrontend architecture, Server-Driven UI library, and our shared design system—so product teams can ship agent management platform UI faster with clear ownership and fewer coordination dependencies. Some engineers are embedded in product teams for deeper, custom UI where platform patterns do not apply. ABOUT THE ROLE: * Define and drive technical strategy for the frontend platform: microfrontend architecture, Server-Driven UI library, design system, and developer experience for internal and product consumers. * Lead cross-team architecture so platform capabilities and product features integrate through clear contracts (APIs, UI boundaries, release and rollout patterns)—with enough full-stack depth (TypeScript/Node services, integration with backend teams) to own end-to-end platform outcomes, not only React surfaces. * Balance short-term velocity with long-term resilience, making smart trade-offs on complexity, cost, and scalability. * Remain hands-on on highest-leverage platform code, critical design reviews, and precedent-setting implementations. * Act as a force multiplier by mentoring Staff Engineers and influencing the careers of future Principal-level talent. * Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, including advising on frontend capacity, standards, and hiring bar. * Set cultural standards for fearless iteration, bias for action, and pragmatic perfectionism—design for tomorrow, build for today. * Lead frontend alignment with the Architecture Office and drive org-wide frontend technical direction—including how the platform evolves, how embedded product UI stays compatible, and how we scale agent management platform UI without coordination tax. * Demonstrate org-level impact across microfrontend boundaries/versioning and independent deployability, Server-Driven UI library adoption decisions, and design-system governance (contribution model, migration strategy, and breaking-change management) with measurable improvements across multiple teams. AREAS OF OWNERSHIP: * Platform & Architecture Own the frontend platform's technical direction — microfrontend architecture, cross-team integration contracts, and full-stack platform outcomes from React surfaces through to Node services and backend integrations. * Product Enablement Drive strategy and governance for the Server-Driven UI library and design system — contribution models, migration, breaking-change management — and define the developer experience that lets product teams ship fast and safely. * Engineering Leadership Set org-wide frontend technical direction in partnership with the Architecture Office, advise leadership on standards and hiring bar, and directly develop the next generation of Staff and Principal engineers. OUR TECH STACK: * TypeScript, React, React Router, styled-components, TanStack Query, nanostores * Infrastructure: Micro-frontends with single-spa, Webpack, Turborepo, pnpm workspaces, GitHub Actions, Azure Blob Storage * Testing: Vitest, RTL, MSW, Playwright WHO YOU ARE: * Professional experience building and shipping production systems in fast-moving environments. * You take full ownership. When something matters, you drive it to completion and stand behind the outcome. * You have a strong bias for action. You move quickly, make informed decisions, and iterate based on real-world feedback. * You are comfortable operating in ambiguity and can turn fuzzy problems into shipped results. * You think in systems: scalability, reliability, performance, and security are part of your default design mindset. * You define success clearly and measure it; you care deeply about customer impact and business outcomes. * You hold a high craftsmanship bar: clean, secure, well-tested code is your baseline. * You give and receive candid feedback, and you elevate those around you through mentoring and technical leadership. * You balance pragmatism with ambition, building for today while designing for tomorrow. * You want to help build not just features, but one of Europe’s most respected engineering organizations. OUR VALUES At Parloa, we hire, promote, and evaluate based on cultural and technical excellence. You’ll thrive here if you: * Earn Trust – act with transparency and reliability. * Obsess Over Customers – always start with the customer problem. * Think Big – set bold goals and pursue them fearlessly. * Have Integrity – do the right thing, especially when it’s hard. * Disagree & Commit – debate with candor, align fast, and deliver. * Own It – take full responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks. * Dive Deep – master the details without losing sight of the big picture. * Bias for Action – move fast, decide quickly, iterate fearlessly. * Deliver Value – measure success by customer and business impact. * Insist on the Highest Standards – raise the bar continuously. * Go the Extra Mile – make the impossible possible. * Hire & Elevate the Best – raise the bar with every hire YOUR RECRUITING PROCESS AT PARLOA Recruiter Call → Technical Peer Interview → 360° Tech Interview Loop → Bar Raiser WHY PARLOA? ABOUT PARLOA Parloa’s mission is to make every customer conversation feel effortless for both customers and the companies serving them. As agentic AI accelerates, Parloans are shaping the foundation of a new era in customer experience - one where customer support is no longer transactions, but meaningful exchanges. It is not just a vision; Parloa has powered over ONE BILLION interactions between global enterprise brands and their customers, with companies like Booking.com, HealthEquity, Allianz, SAP, BarmeniaGothaer, and TUI already deploying Parloa at scale. ABOUT THE ROLE: The Infrastructure Platform team owns the foundation that every other engineering team at Parloa builds on: cloud infrastructure, provisioning and orchestration, CI/CD, and the runtime environments that our AI agents execute in. Its current flagship initiative, Deployment Stamps, is re-platforming how Parloa delivers isolated, reliable, and compliant environments across public cloud and customer-owned private cloud and on-premises infrastructure. We are looking for a Staff or Principal Product Manager to own the product management for this team. This is one of the most technical product roles at Parloa. You will not be writing user stories for a UI, you will be shaping the architecture-adjacent product strategy for a platform whose "customers" are largely internal engineering teams and the most demanding enterprise security, compliance, and infrastructure stakeholders on the other side of the table. This is a builder role in a domain where the playbook is still being written. If you want to define what "good" looks like for enterprise-grade AI infrastructure, data residency and sovereignty, isolation, and a multi-cloud operating model, and you are energized by deeply technical problems and technical stakeholders, this is it. A note on background: We have a strong preference for candidates who have spent time as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or senior engineer before moving into product. This domain rewards genuine technical depth and the instinct to earn trust with engineers by speaking their language. A former EM who has since developed strong product judgment is exactly the profile we have in mind. AREAS OF OWNERSHIP: * Own the Infrastructure Platform product strategy and roadmap: translating reliability, isolation, data-residency, and multi-cloud goals into a sequenced, outcomes-driven plan that engineering can execute against. * Be the voice of internal and enterprise customers: your primary users are Parloa engineering teams (developer experience, deployment, runtime) and your most demanding external stakeholders are enterprise CISOs, CIOs, and infrastructure leaders with strict compliance and sovereignty requirements. * Drive discovery and write the PRDs that frame outcomes (isolation, compliance, availability) without over-prescribing implementation, then partner with engineering leads and architects to pressure-test feasibility and trade-offs. * Own the hard prioritization calls: balancing near-term delivery milestones against longer-term architecture evolution, and making explicit, defensible decisions about scope, sequencing, and risk. * Define and track the metrics that matter for a platform: availability and SLA attainment, provisioning lead time, deployment frequency, change-failure rate, adoption by internal teams, and developer satisfaction. * Establish mechanisms, not just features: repeatable processes for region readiness/certification, release management, and cross-team alignment that scale as the platform grows from a handful of environments to many. * Align a broad, technical stakeholder set: Engineering, Architecture, Security, Legal/Compliance, and the customer-facing teams (Deployment, Sales Engineering) who need to position the platform's capabilities to enterprise accounts. * Connect the platform to revenue: articulate how infrastructure capabilities (e.g., data residency, private cloud, isolation tiers) unlock enterprise deals, new regions, and expansion, and feed that back into prioritization. * Communicate clearly across technical and business contexts: equally comfortable in an architecture review and in a leadership readout. WHO YOU ARE: * A technical-leadership background. 7+ years of combined engineering and product experience for Staff (L4); 10+ years with demonstrated product leadership for Principal (L5). Prior experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or senior/staff engineer is strongly preferred. * Deep infrastructure fluency. Hands-on familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, and/or GCP), Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, networking, identity/auth, and observability. You can read an architecture diagram, follow a design trade-off, and hold your own with principal engineers. * Platform product judgment. You understand the difference between building a feature and building a platform capability, and you instinctively design for reusability, operability, and the long-term developer experience rather than one-off solutions. * Comfort with ambiguity and complexity. You can take an under-defined, multi-team initiative with competing constraints and bring clarity, sequencing, and momentum, designing and delivering long-term solutions with limited oversight. * Strong product fundamentals. Discovery, roadmapping, writing crisp PRDs and narratives, defining measurable success criteria, and running a disciplined delivery process with engineering. * Stakeholder leadership and influence without authority. A track record of aligning engineering, security, and business stakeholders around a shared technical direction and resolving contentious trade-offs. * Excellent written and verbal communication tailored to audiences of varying technical depth, from engineers to enterprise security reviewers to company leadership. * An ownership mindset and bias for action: you take responsibility for outcomes end-to-end and move with appropriate urgency. NICE TO HAVE * Direct experience with enterprise data residency, sovereignty, or compliance requirements (e.g., regulated industries, regional data boundaries). * Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid / on-premises delivery, and the patterns (and pitfalls) of orchestration at scale. * Experience building internal developer platforms and applying Team Topologies / platform-as-a-product thinking. * Background in B2B SaaS infrastructure, cloud, or developer-tools companies. * Exposure to AI/ML platform or runtime infrastructure.
