Location: Come and join us in Hamburg or Berlin!
Following Lyft’s acquisition of Freenow, we are looking for a Senior TPM to lead the technical workstreams that get us to Day 1
readiness — the period between signing and closing — and to set up the integration that follows. This is a high-stakes,
high-visibility role reporting into the EU Tech Leader, with direct exposure to Freenow and Lyft leadership.
You will be the single point of accountability for technical Day 1 readiness. That means making sure every employee, every office,
and every critical system is ready to operate underFreenow by Lyft from the moment the deal closes — and that the integration
stream is up and running the day after. You will also be the TPM accountable for the integration of future acquisitions Freenow
makes.
This is not a role for someone who wants to administer a project plan. You are expected to be technically credible, opinionated,
and comfortable holding senior people to account across IT, Security, Infrastructure, Engineering, Legal, People, and Finance. You
make decisions when others stall, escalate cleanly when you can’t, and keep the whole machine moving.

AI ENGINEER / AI ENABLEMENT ENGINEER (M/F/D) Location: Flexible — Hamburg, Berlin ABOUT FREENOW FREENOW empowers smarter mobility decisions, helping people move freely and cities thrive. As Europe’s leading Mobility Super App, we serve more than 54 million users across 16 markets and 170+ cities. AI is becoming core to how we build products, operate the platform, and support our teams. To move from experimentation to real, measurable impact, we are building a central AI Enablement & Evaluation team — and we’re looking for a Senior AI Engineer to help turn AI into a reliable, scalable capability across the company. If you enjoy building AI systems that actually ship, scale, and deliver value — not just demos — this is your next ride 🚕 YOUR MISSION As a Senior AI Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of AI engineering, evaluation, and enablement. Your role is to ensure that AI systems at FREENOW are production-ready, measurable, and safe, while accelerating adoption across product and engineering teams. You will help transform AI from isolated pilots into reusable platforms, tools, and workflows used across the organization. YOUR DAILY ADVENTURES WILL INCLUDE * Designing, building, and maintaining production-grade AI systems using LLMs, agents, and retrieval-based architectures * Owning and evolving the AI Evaluation Framework, including: * multi-turn evaluations * quality, safety, and hallucination metrics * offline and production-data evaluation * Partnering with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Security to ensure AI solutions are compliant, observable, and trustworthy * Supporting and scaling internal AI products such as FreenowGPT and domain-specific AI assistants * Enabling teams through shared tooling, patterns, and best practices (e.g. Gemini enablement, prompt & agent patterns) * Building reusable AI components (RAG pipelines, agent orchestration, model access layers) * Helping define standards for agent-ready architecture (MCP integrations, model abstraction, permissions) * Monitoring AI system performance, cost, and reliability in production * Acting as a technical reference point for AI across squads — from experimentation to rollout OUR AI & TECH STACK Python | LLM APIs (Gemini, OpenAI) | Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) Databricks | Cloud Infrastructure | APIs & Backend Services Evaluation tooling | Observability & monitoring | Internal developer tooling (Exact tools matter less than strong engineering fundamentals — the stack will evolve.) TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE * You have strong experience as an AI Engineer, ML Engineer, or Senior Software Engineer working with modern AI systems * You’ve built or operated LLM-based systems in production, not just prototypes * You understand the failure modes of LLMs (hallucinations, non-determinism, evaluation challenges) * You consistently balance speed, quality, and pragmatism; knowing when to ship, when to iterate, and when correctness is non-negotiable in production AI systems. * You are comfortable designing evaluation frameworks and defining quality metrics for AI behavior * You have solid backend engineering fundamentals (APIs, services, data access) * You enjoy working across teams and explaining complex AI concepts clearly * You care about reliability, safety, and real business impact, not hype * You are fluent in English NICE TO HAVE * Experience with agentic systems or multi-step workflows * Familiarity with AI governance, risk, or compliance considerations (e.g. GDPR, EU AI Act) * Experience enabling other teams through platforms, SDKs, or internal tools * Prior work in marketplaces, mobility, or large-scale consumer products WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Most companies experiment with AI. Very few manage to scale it responsibly and profitably. This role is central to: * reducing AI risk in customer-facing systems (support, dispatch, booking), * unlocking company-wide productivity through internal AI products, * and building the technical foundations that allow FREENOW to move fast without breaking trust. You’ll help define how AI is built at FREENOW for years to come. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BENEFITS & PERKS IN A NUTSHELL: * Flexible working arrangements * LinkedIn Learning * Sabbatical & special leave policies * WeRoad partnership * Birthday, 24th + 31st December off * Short term EU work policy * Mobility Credit * Health insurance * Employee assistance program Plus more local benefits depending on your work location! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION: Freenow is an equal opportunity employer and we consider qualified applicants regardless of race, religion, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age. WHY THIS ROLE As our Director of Site Reliability Engineering, reporting to our VP of Platform Engineering, you'll own the core infrastructure layers that everything at Doctolib runs on: cloud infrastructure, database operations, network infrastructure, and observability. You will also lead the Doctolib Operations Center (DOC) and drive a decisive shift from reactive operations to a proactive, world-class reliability culture. This is a rare opportunity to shape the infrastructure backbone of Europe's leading healthtech company, at a moment when Doctolib is actively expanding multi-cloud capabilities, scaling to new countries, and building the reliability culture that will define the next decade of healthcare innovation. Why this is an extraordinary challenge * Real stakes, every day. When Doctolib is down, consultations don't happen, diagnoses are delayed, care journeys are interrupted. The infrastructure you build is a direct lever on patient outcomes — in a world where 8 of the top 10 causes of death in Europe are preventable. * A once-in-a-generation platform transition. Multi-cloud, monolith modularisation, international expansion — all happening simultaneously. You won't inherit a finished platform. You'll define what it becomes. * Reliability as the competitive moat. As we scale AI health companions, automate clinical workflows, and launch across Europe, the speed and resilience of the platform directly determines how fast 700+ engineers can ship innovations that change healthcare. * A cultural build, not just a technical one. The incident response culture, observability standards, and operational ownership model you establish here will shape how Doctolib engineers work for years to come. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Build and run a world-class SRE org of 25+ engineers across Cloud Infrastructure, Database & Storage, Network Infrastructure, Observability Tooling, and the Doctolib Operations Center * Own the infrastructure strategy and roadmap — cloud, database, network, observability — and deliver against company OKRs * Lead the Doctolib Operations Center: set incident response standards, drive MTTR reduction, embed blameless post-mortem culture across engineering * Architect and execute our multi-cloud strategy — reducing vendor lock-in, cutting migration costs, and enabling international expansion * Own network infrastructure at scale: load balancing, CDN/WAF, VPCs, peering, zero-trust networking across a high-traffic, multi-country platform * Drive observability as a product — give 700+ engineers true visibility into system health and turn observability maturity into an operational excellence lever * Lead from the front as a senior technical voice in the Platform org and broader Tech leadership team WHO YOU ARE * 12+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years leading managers and running infrastructure or SRE organisations at scale * Track record of taking SRE practices from reactive to proactive — with measurable reductions in incidents and MTTR * Strong multi-cloud and network infrastructure experience: load balancing, CDN/WAF, VPCs, peering, at high-traffic scale * Deep database operations background: large-scale transactional systems (PostgreSQL, Aurora), streaming/CDC (Kafka), data layer FinOps * Experience building observability platforms that give teams genuine visibility — metrics, logs, traces, alerting * Sharp process thinking: SLOs, error budgets, incident management, blameless post-mortems * Outcome-driven: you track reliability, cost efficiency, and engineering velocity as business metrics, not just technical ones * Strong communicator and influencer at executive level — equally credible with senior engineers and business stakeholders * Builder of high-performing, people-first engineering cultures * Fluent in English; comfortable in fast-paced, international environments * You recognise yourself in our playbook values Bonus Points If You Have… * Experience in healthcare, regulated, or high-compliance industries (HDS, ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR, data sovereignty) * Familiarity with our stack: Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Go, Python, React, AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Datadog, GitHub Actions * French language proficiency * Experience with AI-augmented infrastructure tooling or ML platform operations * M&A or post-acquisition infrastructure integration experience WHAT WE OFFER * A Deutschlandticket (Germany-wide public transport pass) fully paid for by Doctolib * 28 vacation days + 1 additional day for each full calendar year of employment (up to a maximum of 30 days) * Work from abroad for up to 10 days per year thanks to our flexibility days policy * Company health insurance with great supplementary benefits through our partner Allianz * Company pension scheme (bAV) through Allianz with an employer subsidy of 40% (15% within the probationary period) * Enrollment in Doctolib's long-term employee value sharing plan called DoctoGrowth * The Doctolib Parent Care program, which includes one month additional parental leave and much more * Free mental health and coaching services through our partner Moka.care * Subsidized sports membership through our partner Urban Sports Club * A flexible workplace policy offering both hybrid and office-based mode * Alongside healthy snacks and our regular breakfast buffet, we provide a subsidized meal benefit * For caregivers and workers with disabilities, a package including an adaptation of the remote policy, extra days off for medical reasons, and psychological support If you would like to find out more about tech life at Doctolib, feel free to read our latest Medium blog articles!
