The Solutions Architect (Lakebase) team executes on Databricks’ strategic Product Operating Model that provides enhanced focus on
earlier stage, highly prioritised product lines in order to establish product market fit, and set the course for rapid revenue
growth. They are part of a global go-to-market team mandate, though individually will cover a specific, local region. Clients may
span across one or more business units and verticals. By working in partnership with direct account teams, they will jointly
engage clients, foster the necessary relationships, position in-depth the specific product line, so as to provide compelling
reasons for clients to adopt and grow the usage of the given product. They understand the appropriate approach, the guardrails,
and the steps needed to successfully adopt the product line, as clients deliver on their business objectives.
The Solutions Architect (Lakebase) is paired with an Account Executive aligned to a given product line with specific targets
accordingly. Together, they will devise and implement a strategy across their assigned set of accounts, develop presentations,
demos and other assets and deliver them such that clients make an informed decision as they decide to adopt the product-line in a
meaningful way.
The Lakebase product-line requires the following core technical competencies:

As the AWS Cloud Partner Solutions Architect for EMEA, you are the single-threaded technical owner of the AWS ↔ Databricks alliance across the region — today a $220M trailing-year consumption book growing at +69.7% YoY, the largest hyperscaler-driven consumption book in EMEA after Microsoft. You are the named Databricks counterpart that the AWS field (PSAs, PDMs, SAs) routes opportunities to, the convener of the EMEA AWS SME community, and the author of the "better-together" technical narrative for Databricks on AWS. You will engage AWS field and partner leadership, Databricks Field Engineering, and joint customer account teams to drive adoption and consumption of the Data Intelligence Platform on AWS — through executive alignment, large-scale partner enablement, joint product contribution, and multicloud architectural arbitration in our most strategic EMEA accounts. Reporting to: Director, Field Engineering (Partner Solutions Architect). WHAT THE ROLE OWNS: * AWS-sourced pipeline & EMEA AWS consumption growth — act as the single EMEA-wide SPOC for the AWS field. Channel AWS-sourced opportunities into Databricks (FY26: 150+ opportunities, ~$60M ARR pipeline, ~$10M realised, 35 net-new greenfield accounts) and carry the FY27 plan-of-record of +60% YoY growth / $297.86M target. * The EMEA AWS SME community — convene and grow the cross-EMEA group of AWS-deep SAs/SSAs/PSAs (~15–20 members across UKI, France, Spain, Italy, Benelux, Nordics, MEA, Germany). Land the ASQ-scope expansion (SWAT pattern) and run the joint operating cadence with the Databricks TFC at AWS. This is the mechanism that scales the role from single-person execution to field-distributed delivery. * Partner enablement at scale — sustain the training engine that feeds pipeline 2–3 quarters out (300+ AWS Solutions Architects trained in EMEA in FY26; 50+ Databricks xSAs to AWS SA-Associate at zero net cost via the AWS Partner Training ↔ Databricks L&E channel; 0-to-GenAI workshops, Lakehouse Days, regional meetups). Maintain the AWS Field Engineering Playbook. * Joint product contribution & reference architectures — own the assets that lower time-to-first-DBU and unblock deployments: AWS Marketplace QuickLaunch ("Moonwalk+"), Agent Bricks ↔ Amazon Bedrock automation, the CloudFormation networking package, the AWS data-exfiltration-protection (DEP) architecture, the remote-S3 strict-residency pattern, and the EMEA cloud-consumption dashboard. * Strategic-account unblock & multicloud arbitration — lead technical arbitration in EMEA's dense multicloud accounts (BP, EasyJet, Klarna, ABSA, ADIA, Mercedes-Benz, BNP Paribas and others), where a single architectural decision can swing $1M+ ARR. * Executive alignment & external brand — run QBRs with named AWS regional leaders at BU+1, and be the EMEA technical voice at AWS Summits, DAIS, and Re:Invent EMEA. THE IMPACT YOU WILL HAVE: * Accelerate AWS-sourced pipeline and its conversion to consumption by aligning AWS and Databricks resources and providing the technical expertise to win and expand multicloud accounts. * Shift cloud balance toward AWS across EMEA Diamond and Pearl accounts, protecting and growing Databricks' hyperscaler revenue mix. * Grow field-wide AWS capability — through the SME community, certification programmes, and reusable architectures — so AWS depth is distributed across the EMEA field rather than concentrated in one person. * Develop and sustain senior AWS executive relationships that surface new opportunities, sharpen competitive positioning, and anchor joint go-to-market. WHAT WE LOOK FOR: * Extensive hands-on experience as a data professional in a modern, cloud-based data stack. * Hyperscaler-alliance experience (AWS strongly preferred) with credibility to be the EMEA SPOC for the AWS field and to convene a cross-region SME community. * AWS-specific technical depth — PrivateLink, VPC Lattice, IAM, networking/CloudFormation, AWS Marketplace, Amazon Bedrock, and Glue ↔ Unity Catalog federation. * At least 3 years of technical pre-sales / sales-methodology experience within a consumption business model. * Ability to collaborate with partner and customer organisations at senior-executive level, aligning their objectives to Databricks products and services. * Proven ability to run training sessions, workshops, and webinars, and to author technical content (whitepapers, reference architectures, solution guides, playbooks). * Coding in a core programming language (Python, Java, or Scala); comfort generating infrastructure-as-code (e.g. CloudFormation). * Designing, implementing, and maintaining end-to-end data architectures for Big Data, Data Warehousing, and AI on MPP-based platforms. * Managing multiple, frequently changing priorities across multiple teams. The role requires up to 40% travel across EMEA — to customer and AWS partner sites, AWS EMEA offices, and the key partnership moments of the year (AWS Summits across EMEA, DAIS, Re:Invent). YOUR MISSION We are a Berlin-based startup transforming how industrial materials are bought and sold across Europe. One of the oldest industries in the world still runs on Excel, PDF and email. We are replacing that with AI that runs the buying and selling workflow end to end, increasing liquidity, speeding up transactions and reducing waste for hundreds of steel and metal distributors. We have strong early traction, real enterprise customers and committed investors. We are a lean, technical team scaling our enterprise pilots and building the AI infrastructure underneath them. Your job as Senior Product Engineer is to make sure we deliver on that traction and stay ahead. You partner closely with Co-founder Simon, who owns sales; you own that we ship, that enterprise customers succeed, and that the product stays in front. This is a senior, hands-on role with three pillars. 1. Build and ship with AI * Ship production software using AI as a force multiplier — prototypes, integrations, customer-facing flows — and get them live, not just specified. * Move our AI from assisting people to running the buying and selling workflow as autonomous agents. * Integrate our pipeline deep into customer systems and ERPs (SAP, Odoo, Microsoft Dynamics), and design for fast onboarding so a new customer reaches value in days, not months. * Our stack: Python, FastAPI, Pydantic AI, Pydantic Logfire, JavaScript/Node, React, GCP, Kubernetes. You won't be expected to master all of it on day one, but you should be comfortable navigating it with AI tooling. 2. Lead technical communication with enterprise customers * Own the technical relationship with three to five enterprise customers: run the discovery workshops, scope the work, run first-line UAT, and steer executive, procurement and IT conversations. * Translate customer reality into clear build decisions and engineering reality into clear customer expectations. Hold the line on scope when a request will not move the metric that matters. * Represent the product credibly to senior stakeholders, and to investors when a customer also sits on our cap table. 3. Help build the product org * Drive the shipping cadence: a weekly or biweekly release rhythm with engineering, and sequence delivery against engineering capacity with our Head of Tech. * Make the strategic product calls — what we build next, and what we deliberately do not. * As we scale enterprise customers, help grow how the team works and the product function around you. YOUR PROFILE You are a builder who ships with AI and can run an enterprise customer relationship and help shape how we build. Two non-negotiables: technical capability and product sense. Everything else sits behind those. * Excellent written and verbal communication in English and in German (C1 or C2 must have, native not required). You can run a technical workshop with a German industrial customer end to end. * Berlin-based or willing to relocate. The role also includes regular travel to customer sites in Central Germany (~2–3 days per month). * 5+ years building product, with at least 2 years in genuinely technical roles (engineering, technical PM at a real engineering company, solutions architect, forward-deployed engineer). * Deep LLM/AI experience: you build and ship real software with LLMs and agents in production, not just prototype or chat with them. You can walk us through something you shipped and how you built it. Bonus if you have shipped an agentic or autonomous system. * AI coding tools: you use Cursor, Claude Code or comparable as your primary development environment - not occasionally, but as the way you build. This is how you ship independently without engineering support. * Strong technical instincts: you read code, evaluate an architecture, and hold your own in a design review with engineering. * First-line UAT discipline: you have personally signed off (or rejected) enterprise releases and can describe the framework you used. * Comfortable owning several enterprise customers in parallel without dropping balls, and pushing back on scope when needed. * Able to simplify complexity and make fast, sound decisions under pressure. Nice-to-have: background in an AI-first company; ERP integrations (SAP, Odoo, Microsoft Dynamics) or procurement / order-management workflows; early-stage or founding-engineer experience, industrial B2B, metals, supply chain or manufacturing experience. WHY US? * Ownership of named enterprise accounts, judged on outcomes rather than hours. * Direct technical impact: you see what you ship in production within weeks. * Senior co-founders who are technical operators, not pitch-deck founders. Decisions happen fast. * Competitive base, performance bonus, and meaningful equity at a Series A company. * Regular travel to customer sites (mainly Central Germany). * Subsidised Urban Sports Club membership and Deutschlandticket. * Hybrid work format, office in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin. * Regular team events, company breakfasts and Friday drinks.
