We are in the process of establishing an Accounting Center of Excellence (COE) to strengthen our global accounting capabilities and provide a scalable foundation for the future. The COE will focus on consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across accounting processes, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and audit requirements. It will also drive process improvements, automation, and knowledge sharing across regions. As Fixed Asset COE Lead, you will own the end-to-end accounting for property, plant & equipment (PP&E), leases, internally developed software (IDS), goodwill and other intangible assets across the Thoughtworks global. You will be accountable for technical accuracy, SOX compliance, and the continuous improvement of fixed asset accounting processes — while mentoring and developing a high-performing team. You will collaborate closely with Regional Controllers, FP&A, Tax, Legal, and IT Finance stakeholders to deliver a scalable, compliant, and insight-driven fixed asset function. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES FIXED ASSET ACCOUNTING & CLOSE * Own the global fixed asset accounting lifecycle — from capitalization through depreciation, impairment, and disposal — ensuring accurate and timely recognition in compliance with US GAAP (ASC 360, ASC 350), IFRS 16, and internal accounting policies. * Lead monthly close activities for PP&E, ROU assets, and intangibles, including journal entries, depreciation runs, asset additions/disposals, and reconciliations. * Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations for all fixed asset accounts, ensuring complete documentation, proper support, and adherence to SOX control requirements. * Oversee lease accounting under IFRS 16 / ASC 842, including ROU asset recognition, remeasurement, modification, and disclosure across all Thoughtworks legal entities. * Support acquisition accounting and integration activities, including participation in purchase price allocation (PPA) for PP&E and intangible assets, post-acquisition asset register set-up, and goodwill impairment indicator assessments in coordination with the Technical Accounting and FP&A teams. SOFTWARE CAPITALIZATION (IDS / ASC 350-40) * Manage the end-to-end capitalization process for internally developed software, including intake assessment, eligibility determination, cost accumulation, and amortization schedules. * Partner with IT and other teams to ensure accurate and timely identification of qualifying development activities and associated costs. * Maintain clear documentation and audit trails to support internal and external audit reviews of software capitalization decisions. COMPLIANCE, CONTROLS & AUDIT SUPPORT * Maintain and enforce global accounting policies for fixed assets and intangibles, ensuring consistent application and clear guidance for regional finance teams. * Design, operate, and monitor SOX/ICFR controls over the fixed asset cycle, including periodic physical verification coordination and impairment assessments. * Serve as the primary contact for internal and external auditors on all fixed asset and intangible-related queries, providing detailed analysis, documentation, and reconciliations. PROCESS IMPROVEMENT & AUTOMATION * Drive continuous improvement across fixed asset accounting workflows, identifying automation opportunities within ERP and asset management systems (PeopleSoft). * Lead standardization initiatives across regions — developing consistent templates, capitalization thresholds, useful life policies, and tagging conventions. * Contribute to the broader Accounting COE agenda by bringing best practices in fixed asset accounting and helping design scalable, globally consistent processes. STAKEHOLDER COLLABORATION & TEAM DEVELOPMENT * Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Legal, Regional Controllers, SG&A team to ensure capital expenditure forecasting, tax depreciation, and CAPEX/OPEX classification are properly reflected. * Partner with FP&A, IT, Controllership and Treasury to forecast global CAPEX cash flows, aligning cash projections with IT and software development plans. * Partner with the Procurement and IT teams to establish and maintain an effective asset procurement-to-capitalization workflow. * Develop and mentor team members within the Fixed Asset COE, building technical depth and fostering a culture of accuracy, ownership, and continuous improvement. JOB QUALIFICATIONS ESSENTIAL * Qualified CA, CPA, or CMA with 5–7 years of post-qualification experience in fixed asset accounting, technical accounting, or a controllership role. * Deep knowledge of US GAAP fixed asset standards (ASC 360, ASC 350-40) and IFRS 16 / ASC 842 lease accounting, with demonstrated experience applying them in a global environment. * Hands-on experience managing the full fixed asset cycle including capitalization, depreciation, impairment, and disposal in a multinational company. * Strong understanding of SOX/ICFR controls applicable to the fixed asset cycle. * Experience supporting internal and external audits, including preparation of detailed audit schedules and reconciliations. * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency in working with ERP-generated data and large asset registers. * Proven track record in driving process standardization, continuous improvement, and supporting automation initiatives. * Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, or developing team members in an accounting or shared services environment. * Strong written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally with global teams and senior stakeholders. * Willingness to align working hours with stakeholders in other time zones when required. HIGHLY DESIRABLE * Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials or a comparable ERP platform. * Familiarity with IFRS and/or local statutory reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions. * Experience with lease management software CoStar * Background in a global technology company or professional services organization with a distributed delivery model. ABOUT LENDABLE Lendable is on a mission to build the world's best technology to help people get credit and save money. We're building one of the world’s leading fintech companies and are off to a strong start: * One of the UK’s newest unicorns with a team of just over 700 people * Among the fastest-growing tech companies in the UK * Profitable since 2017 * Backed by top investors including Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs * Loved by customers with the best reviews in the market (4.9 across 10,000s of reviews on Trustpilot) So far, we’ve rebuilt the Big Three consumer finance products from scratch: loans, credit cards and car finance. We get money into our customers’ hands in minutes instead of days. We’re growing fast, and there’s a lot more to do: we’re going after the two biggest Western markets (UK and US) where trillions worth of financial products are held by big banks with dated systems and painful processes. JOIN US IF YOU WANT TO 1. Take ownership across a broad remit. You are trusted to make decisions that drive a material impact on the direction and success of Lendable from day 1 2. Work in small teams of exceptional people, who are relentlessly resourceful to solve problems and find smarter solutions than the status quo 3. Build the best technology in-house, using new data sources, machine learning and AI to make machines do the heavy lifting THE ROLE We're building our second charge mortgage product from the ground up. We're looking for a Credit & Commercial Manager to own credit strategy for this product — someone who understands the mechanics of secured lending end-to-end, from quote through to completion. This is a foundational hire. You'll shape how we assess risk, price loans, and structure our credit policy, working closely with a small, senior cross-functional team spanning product, engineering, legal, and commercial. If you've spent years working in secured lending and want to help build something new rather than maintain something old, this is the role. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Define credit policy and underwriting strategy for second charge mortgages, including affordability, eligibility, and decisioning frameworks * Own risk scoring and pricing — develop and refine scorecards, risk segmentation, and pricing models that balance volume with portfolio quality * Drive growth whilst balancing risk — use analytic and credit judgment to drive growth through credit policy, work with the commercial team team to hit volume targets, and all whilst maintaining portfolio quality * Own the IRR/NPV/cashflow models - ensure we understand the economics of the asset we’re booking, and drive changes where needed * Design automated decisioning logic — translate credit policy into executable rules and decision trees that can be embedded in the platform, working with engineering to build the quickest, most automated secured product on the market * Help shape funding strategy — collaborate with the Capital Markets team to inform investor parameters around LTV limits, property valuations, and portfolio concentration, translating these into practical credit policy * Inform the property valuation and security process — ensure credit policy accounts for valuation methodology, panel management considerations, and charge registration requirements * Monitor portfolio performance — track early indicators, refine strategy based on outcomes, and report to senior stakeholders * Collaborate cross-functionally — work daily with product and engineering to embed credit decisioning into the platform, and with legal and compliance to ensure regulatory alignment (MCOB, Consumer Duty) * Get stuck in — this is a small team building something from scratch. You'll be hands-on across the full credit lifecycle, not managing from a distance WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * Deep experience in secured lending credit risk — you've worked on second charge mortgages or similar secured products (bridging, BTL, specialist residential) and understand the product inside out * Strong knowledge of risk scoring and pricing — you've built or materially contributed to scorecards, pricing frameworks, or credit policy in a secured lending environment * Understanding of funding and capital constraints — you know how LTV covenants, property valuations, and investor criteria shape what you can lend and to whom * Commercial awareness and growth mindset — you understand that credit policy exists to enable lending, not prevent it. You think about accept rates, broker conversion, and competitive positioning alongside risk metrics * Familiarity with the end-to-end secured lending process — from quote through to completion, including how valuation, legal, and land registry processes interact with credit decisions * Analytical rigour — you're comfortable with data. SQL is required and Python experience is a plus, but what matters is that you think in numbers and can interrogate MI to drive decisions that lead to more good quality lending * Regulatory awareness — working knowledge of MCOB and FCA requirements for second charge lending * Experience designing for scale and automation — you understand how to structure underwriting policy as decision logic, scorecards, and rules that can be executed programmatically. You think in terms of tens of thousands of applications, not manual case-by-case review NICE TO HAVE * Experience with loan servicing — settlements, collections, arrears management, and recoveries in a secured lending context * Exposure to broker distribution models and how credit policy interacts with intermediary channels * Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment, or a desire to move from a large organisation into one * Experience with decisioning platforms or rules engines LIFE AT LENDABLE * Winning team: the opportunity to scale up one of the world’s most successful fintech companies * Flexible working: flexible approach tailored to each role. Hybrid roles require three days in-office weekly; fully remote roles include regular opportunities for in-person connection through socials and off-sites * Socials & connection: opportunities and events to come together, socialise, and get to know each other beyond the office walls * Health coverage: support for your physical and mental wellbeing, including private health cover * Retirement & savings: long-term financial wellbeing through retirement savings plans * Employee referral programme: earn a competitive bonus when you refer successful new team members * Office meals & snacks: enjoy a fully stocked kitchen, plus complimentary lunches prepared by in-house chefs on in-office days at select locations * Sustainable commuting: cycle-to-work and electric vehicle salary sacrifice schemes available in select locations Please note: The availability and details of specific benefits vary by location and role.
