BACKEND ENGINEER, PLATFORM INTEGRATIONS (MONETIZATION) AN OVERVIEW OF THIS ROLE As a Backend Engineer on the Monetization Platform Integrations team, you'll design, build, and maintain integrations between CustomersDot and Monetization services and GitLab's enterprise applications, including Salesforce, Workato, and Zuora. You'll own robust application programming interface (API) contracts, protect data integrity across systems, and build resilient cross-platform workflows that support how customers buy, provision, and renew GitLab. Because these integrations move financial and subscription data between systems, you'll maintain a high bar for reliability, observability, and careful rollout. You'll work closely with the monitoring and anomaly detection side of the team so every integration is observable and the team can catch failures early. We're hiring for this role at the Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer levels. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Design, build, and maintain integrations between CustomersDot, Monetization services, and enterprise applications such as Salesforce, Workato, and Zuora. * Define and evolve representational state transfer (REST) and GraphQL API contracts, including versioning and backward compatibility. * Build and monitor observable, fault-tolerant integration workflows, tracking failure rates, retry success, and data-integrity incidents. * Ensure data integrity and consistency across integrated financial and subscription systems. * Review merge requests from other Monetization engineers and offer clear, constructive feedback. * Work with Product, Finance, IT, Sales, and Support to translate cross-system needs into reliable integrations. * Own projects from proposal and discussion through delivery, rollout, and production monitoring. WHAT YOU’LL BRING * Professional experience working with Ruby on Rails. * Experience integrating with third-party or enterprise APIs, including billing, customer relationship management, or automation platforms. * Strong API design skills, including REST, GraphQL, contracts, versioning, and backward compatibility. * Familiarity with event-driven patterns such as webhooks and message-based streaming. * Familiarity with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases and data integrity and governance concepts in production environments. * Systems thinking and experience owning projects from concept through production, including proposal, execution, and monitoring. * Ability to communicate clearly about complex technical, architectural, and organizational problems in a remote, largely asynchronous environment. * Alignment with GitLab's values; familiarity with NATS JetStream or subscription management or billing systems, such as Zuora or Salesforce, is a plus. ABOUT THE TEAM GitLab's Monetization section is a cross-functional group that partners with Sales, Finance, IT, and Support to deliver secure and reliable purchasing, billing, provisioning, and utilization workflows. The Monetization section includes the Purchase, Subscription Lifecycle, Billing Engine, Platform and Infrastructure, Observability, Monitoring, and Integrations, and Compliance teams. This role is on the Monetization Platform Integrations team and reports to the Engineering Manager, Observability, Monitoring, and Integrations. We work asynchronously, with regular planning and retrospectives and a high bar for operational ownership across deployments, incident management, testing, and rollout safety. HOW GITLAB SUPPORTS FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES * Benefits to support your health, finances, and well-being [https://about.gitlab.com/handbook/total-rewards/benefits/general-and-entity-benefits/] * Flexible Paid Time Off [https://handbook.gitlab.com/handbook/people-group/time-off-and-absence/time-off-types/#flexible-paid-time-off-pto] * Team Member Resource Groups [https://handbook.gitlab.com/handbook/company/culture/inclusion/tmrg-tmag/] * Equity Compensation & Employee Stock Purchase Plan [https://handbook.gitlab.com/handbook/total-rewards/stock-options/] * Growth and Development Fund [https://handbook.gitlab.com/handbook/people-group/learning-and-development/growth-and-development/] * Parental Leave [https://about.gitlab.com/handbook/total-rewards/benefits/general-and-entity-benefits/#parental-leave] Please note that we welcome interest from candidates with varying levels of experience; many successful candidates do not meet every single requirement. Business Systems Analyst (BSA) : (GTM & Revenue Operations) AI-Driven Delivery Model | Value Stream Aligned The Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced AI-forward Business Systems Analyst to support our global GTM and Revenue Operations organization. This role operates within an AI-Driven Delivery Model transforming the BSA function from a reactive requirement-taker into a strategic facilitator, business translator, and value-stream orchestrator. The ideal candidate leads with business outcomes, surfaces AI and automation opportunities, and drives delivery from the earliest moments of engagement. The BSA partners with business stakeholders, process owners, and engineering teams to lead AI-assisted intake, generate structured business context, and deliver scalable technology solutions that support our global GTM and Revenue operations teams. You'll help shape how a global SaaS company sells, quotes, forecasts, licenses, and delivers customer value. This role has direct influence over systems and processes supporting thousands of users worldwide. How We Work: AI-Driven Delivery Model This role operates within a modern, AI-accelerated delivery model. Traditional ticket intake and static requirements gathering have been replaced with a conversational, AI-assisted process that begins with business context and ends with intelligent, capacity-aware sprint planning. What You'll Do AI-Assisted Intake & Business Context * Lead structured, conversational intake sessions with business stakeholders by replacing static form-based requirements gathering. * Leverage AI-generated transcripts and NLP extraction to produce structured intake artifacts, including business context, problem statements, strategic imperatives, and KPIs. * Validate and enrich AI-generated Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs) with GTM and Revenue Operations domain expertise. * Surface AI, automation, and orchestration opportunities early in the intake process. Value Stream Alignment & Delivery Orchestration * Operate as a strategic facilitator and business translator within the GTM and Revenue Operations value streams. * Partner with Business Process Owners, Enterprise Architects, Developers, and QA teams across the full SDLC. * Support intelligent work routing, ensuring delivery is aligned to the correct team, system domain, and engineering capability. * Support our GTM and Revenue Operations systems through implementation of new initiatives, enhancements, and integrations within the AI-Driven Delivery Model. AI & Automation Opportunity Identification * Evaluate GTM and Revenue Operations processes to identify AI, automation, analytics, and workflow orchestration opportunities. * Assess data quality, integration complexity, and governance implications to enable scalable, measurable business outcomes. * Contribute to AI-generated test case design, sprint planning recommendations, and delivery estimation as these capabilities mature. Governance, Risk & Stakeholder Management * Clarify governance and compliance requirements early in the process as an enabler, not a blocker. * Facilitate UAT, stakeholder reviews, and solution validation. * Coordinate required governance reviews: Enterprise Architecture, Security, Procurement, and Compliance, leveraging automated trigger workflows. * Manage stakeholder communication across business and technology teams with a bias toward measurable outcomes and traceability. Who You Are * 5+ years of Business Systems Analyst or Business Analyst experience. * Bachelor’s degree in a technical field of study or relevant work experience demonstrating the key facets of this role. * Demonstrated ability to act as a strategic advisor and business translator, not a ticket taker, collaborating across business and technology to drive solution innovation. * Experience with Salesforce, Salesforce CPQ, and related enterprise applications. * Proven expertise in structured requirements gathering, process mapping, user story creation, and solution design. * Familiarity with AI-assisted or automation-enabled delivery workflows (AI-generated documentation, NLP extraction, workflow automation). * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder facilitation skills. * Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present at an executive level. * Salesforce Administrator certification What Success Looks Like in This Role The BSA in this model is measured not by tickets closed, but by business outcomes enabled. Success looks like: * Faster time-to-delivery: Intake conversations convert to structured EPICs and user stories within hours, not weeks. * Measurable business impact: Solutions are tied directly to KPIs identified during intake. * AI adoption: Proactively surfaces and implements AI and automation opportunities within the GTM and Revenue Operations value stream. * Stakeholder trust: Business partners view the BSA as a strategic advisor and co-owner of outcomes, not a documentation intermediary. * Delivery traceability: All work is traceable from business conversation through to delivered solution, with governance automated and documented. For over 25 years, more than 100,000 organizations and a vast partner ecosystem have relied on Commvault to reduce risks, improve governance, and do more with data. Clumio by Commvault is a leader in cloud-native cyber resilience. The product is a purpose-built SaaS platform designed to solve the "data protection gap" in high-scale cloud environments. The platform empowers organizations to protect their most critical data assets, such as Amazon S3, DynamoDB, and Apache Iceberg, with unprecedented scale and simplicity. The team operates at the intersection of extreme scale and data security. We are known for engineering solutions that handle the world's most demanding data environments, protecting billions of objects across services like Amazon S3 and DynamoDB where traditional legacy architectures fail. This is an exciting time to be joining the team as we are moving beyond our core success in AWS data protection to tackle the broader challenges of the multi-cloud era. The broader goal is to provide enterprises with a unified lens for visibility, compliance, and resilience, ensuring that as data grows, it remains both secure and recoverable. You will play a pivotal role in integrating AI-driven intelligence into our products, helping us shift from reactive recovery to proactive data resilience and governance across a diverse, multi-cloud landscape. About the Role We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the AI and platform capabilities at the core of Clumio's cyber resilience offering. You'll define how intelligence is woven into the product—from anomaly detection and threat insights to automated recovery guidance—while owning the end-to-end platform experience that customers use every day: how they create and manage protection policies, control access, consume the product, and get visibility through reporting. This is a high-ownership role for someone who can operate from strategy to spec: setting vision, making hard prioritization calls, and partnering deeply with engineering, design, and go-to-market to ship products that customers trust with their most critical data. You'll sit at the intersection of AI, data protection, and cloud infrastructure, translating a fast-moving technical space into a roadmap that moves the business forward. What You'll Do * Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Clumio's AI and platform capabilities, aligning them to a multi-cloud resilience and governance strategy. * Own the end-to-end platform user experience—policy creation and management, role-based access control (RBAC), consumption and onboarding flows, and reporting and dashboards—ensuring the product is intuitive at both individual and enterprise scale. * Define and prioritize AI-driven features—such as anomaly and ransomware detection, data classification, risk scoring, and intelligent recovery recommendations—that move customers from reactive recovery to proactive resilience. * Shape the platform services (APIs, data pipelines, extensibility, and governance frameworks) that allow protection and intelligence capabilities to scale across services like Amazon S3, DynamoDB, and Apache Iceberg, and into new clouds. * Partner closely with engineering across the full product lifecycle: discovery, requirements, prioritization, launch, and iteration. * Translate deep customer and market insight into clear requirements, making sharp trade-offs on scope, scale, and time-to-market. * Work with security, compliance, and design partners to ensure the platform and its AI features are trustworthy, explainable, and enterprise-grade. * Define success metrics, instrument the product, and use data to guide the roadmap. * Collaborate with marketing, sales, and customer teams on positioning, pricing, packaging, and launch of new capabilities. * Act as a cross-functional leader and the voice of both the customer and the business, aligning stakeholders around a shared plan. What We're Looking For * 6+ years of product management experience, ideally in cloud infrastructure, data platforms, data protection, or security (B2B/enterprise SaaS). * Track record of owning platform or core product surfaces end to end—policy/workflow management, RBAC and permissions, admin and consumption experiences, or reporting and analytics. * Demonstrated experience shipping AI/ML-powered features or data-intensive products—familiarity with modern AI approaches (e.g., anomaly detection, classification, LLM/agentic workflows) and a clear grasp of their trade-offs. * Strong technical foundation: comfortable partnering with engineers on architecture, APIs, and platform design, and reasoning about systems at scale. * Working knowledge of public cloud (AWS strongly preferred; Azure/GCP a plus) and core data services such as object storage and NoSQL databases. * Proven ability to turn ambiguous, fast-moving problem spaces into clear strategy and executable roadmaps. * Excellent communication and stakeholder management—able to influence across engineering, design, and go-to-market without direct authority. * Customer-obsessed and data-driven, with strong analytical and prioritization skills. * Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent experience. Nice to Have * Experience in backup, disaster recovery, cyber resilience, or data governance/compliance. * Familiarity with multi-cloud environments and data-lake/table formats such as Apache Iceberg. * Advanced degree in a technical or business discipline. You’ll Love Working Here Because * Collaborate with amazing, driven, and supportive team members. * Enjoy continuous professional growth through product training, development programs, and clear career pathways. * Work on high-impact, large-scale cloud data protection systems used by global enterprises. * Thrive in an inclusive, open culture with opportunities to connect through our community groups. * Take advantage of generous global benefits tailored to support your well-being. * Receive competitive compensation that reflects your impact. * Share in our success through our Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
