Celonis is the global leader in Process Intelligence and the pioneer of Process Mining technology. As one of the world’s
fastest-growing enterprise SaaS companies, we are changemakers pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. We invest heavily in
advanced AI capabilities—specifically our Process Intelligence Graph—to turn data insights into immediate business action. We
believe there is a massive opportunity to unlock global productivity and sustainability by placing intelligence at the core of
every business process. Join our mission to make processes work for people, companies, and the planet.
Deployment Engineer
The Team
Celonis Services is the delivery engine of our Celonis Customer Organization, responsible for turning the Celonis platform into
measurable, business-critical outcomes for our customers. In the AI era, our role has elevated: as AI agents like our own Apollo
take on more of the technical build, our people focus on the work that drives real impact—understanding our customers'
business-critical problems, designing the solutions that solve them, and quantifying the value delivered. Our Deployment Engineers
and Deployment Architects pair deep domain and industry expertise with serious platform mastery and AI-augmented delivery,
directing agentic systems while owning the judgment, architecture, and customer relationships that AI cannot replace. We deliver
faster and smarter than ever, and we own the outcome: solution go-live, solution adoption, initial value realization support and
the long-term success of our customers.
The Role
As a Deployment Engineer, you are the backbone of Celonis delivery. You lead the hands-on implementation of Celonis solutions for
enterprise customers, combining platform expertise with AI-augmented workflows to deliver high-quality outcomes, fast. You use
Celonis’s AI deployment tools as your primary instruments - directing agents to build data models, generate analyses, and
configure operational solutions, while applying your own judgment to validate outputs, adapt to customer context, and ensure
business relevance.
This is not a traditional consulting role where you build everything manually. You are an AI-augmented delivery professional: you
specify what needs to be built, direct AI agents to execute wherever possible, validate the results, and iterate with the
customer. You generate value by understanding the customer’s business, translating their needs into technical specifications and
solutions, and ensuring the platform delivers measurable impact.

BACKEND ENGINEER, PLATFORM INTEGRATIONS (MONETIZATION) AN OVERVIEW OF THIS ROLE As a Backend Engineer on the Monetization Platform Integrations team, you'll design, build, and maintain integrations between CustomersDot and Monetization services and GitLab's enterprise applications, including Salesforce, Workato, and Zuora. You'll own robust application programming interface (API) contracts, protect data integrity across systems, and build resilient cross-platform workflows that support how customers buy, provision, and renew GitLab. Because these integrations move financial and subscription data between systems, you'll maintain a high bar for reliability, observability, and careful rollout. You'll work closely with the monitoring and anomaly detection side of the team so every integration is observable and the team can catch failures early. We're hiring for this role at the Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer levels. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Design, build, and maintain integrations between CustomersDot, Monetization services, and enterprise applications such as Salesforce, Workato, and Zuora. * Define and evolve representational state transfer (REST) and GraphQL API contracts, including versioning and backward compatibility. * Build and monitor observable, fault-tolerant integration workflows, tracking failure rates, retry success, and data-integrity incidents. * Ensure data integrity and consistency across integrated financial and subscription systems. * Review merge requests from other Monetization engineers and offer clear, constructive feedback. * Work with Product, Finance, IT, Sales, and Support to translate cross-system needs into reliable integrations. * Own projects from proposal and discussion through delivery, rollout, and production monitoring. WHAT YOU’LL BRING * Professional experience working with Ruby on Rails. * Experience integrating with third-party or enterprise APIs, including billing, customer relationship management, or automation platforms. * Strong API design skills, including REST, GraphQL, contracts, versioning, and backward compatibility. * Familiarity with event-driven patterns such as webhooks and message-based streaming. * Familiarity with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases and data integrity and governance concepts in production environments. * Systems thinking and experience owning projects from concept through production, including proposal, execution, and monitoring. * Ability to communicate clearly about complex technical, architectural, and organizational problems in a remote, largely asynchronous environment. * Alignment with GitLab's values; familiarity with NATS JetStream or subscription management or billing systems, such as Zuora or Salesforce, is a plus. ABOUT THE TEAM GitLab's Monetization section is a cross-functional group that partners with Sales, Finance, IT, and Support to deliver secure and reliable purchasing, billing, provisioning, and utilization workflows. The Monetization section includes the Purchase, Subscription Lifecycle, Billing Engine, Platform and Infrastructure, Observability, Monitoring, and Integrations, and Compliance teams. This role is on the Monetization Platform Integrations team and reports to the Engineering Manager, Observability, Monitoring, and Integrations. We work asynchronously, with regular planning and retrospectives and a high bar for operational ownership across deployments, incident management, testing, and rollout safety.
