Role Description Graphcore is seeking a highly organized and technically knowledgeable Program Manager to lead Graphcores asset, material, and inventory management processes within our R&D infrastructure. This individual will build and operate the end-to-end material lifecycle that supports our engineering labs and data centers—ensuring that every component, from GPUs and custom accelerators to cabling and spares, is tracked, delivered, and ready when needed. In this role, you will create the frameworks, tools, and workflows that ensure reliability, compliance, and operational excellence across our global lab network. Key Responsibilities * Develop and implement a comprehensive asset management framework, including processes, tools, and governance standards. * Lead inventory planning, delivery scheduling, and tracking for AI/ML hardware, HPC systems, and supporting infrastructure. * Establish and lead on-site spares programs across all labs to ensure continuity of operations. * Be responsible for the full material lifecycle, from procurement to asset destruction and secure disposal. * Collaborate with supply chain, facilities, IT, and engineering teams to maintain synchronization of hardware deliveries, records, and readiness. * Design dashboards and reports to monitor asset utilization, inventory health, and audit compliance. * Develop training and documentation to ensure consistent implementation of asset policies across global sites. * Partner with trade compliance and security teams to ensure sensitive or export-controlled materials are tracked appropriately. Required Skills and Experience: * 7+ years of experience in hardware operations, inventory or asset management, or supply chain management in a technology or engineering environment. * Engineering degree required * Strong background in hardware lifecycle management—preferably in labs, datacenters, or HPC environments. * Proven experience implementing asset management systems or CMDBs (ServiceNow, Odoo, NetBox, or similar). * Deep understanding of material flow, logistics, and traceability for technical infrastructure. * Strong analytical skills and proficiency with data tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Smartsheet). * Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and operational teams. * Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable, repeatable processes. Preferred Qualifications * Experience working with AI/ML or high-performance computing (HPC) environments. * Familiarity with export control tracking, ITAR/EAR compliance, or asset chain-of-custody. * Prior experience in R&D lab operations, data center environments, or engineering infrastructure programs. * PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent certification a plus. JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Director of Automation, the Staff Robotics Engineer will provide technical leadership for the design, integration, validation, and deployment of robotic automation systems for data center operations. This role will work closely with internal Graphcore teams, SoftBank Robotics, SoftBank Group affiliates, and external technology partners to turn R&D concepts into scalable, production-ready robotic capabilities. Example systems may include robotic manipulation, material transport, inspection, rack/server handling, autonomous mobile robots, or other automation solutions for data center operations. This role is based in Austin and may require periodic travel to partner, manufacturing, lab, or deployment sites, including occasional collaboration across APAC time zones. THE TEAM The automation team is responsible for helping the vision of Softbank Group to automate data center, working with internal Graphcore teams and Softbank Group affiliates. The team works closely with Softbank Robotics and its partners and other third parties to solve complex solutions for data center operations. Our focus is on delivering robust, production-quality systems that bridge cutting-edge research and real-world deployment. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES * This role is expected to operate with high autonomy, define technical direction for ambiguous robotics automation problems, influence partner roadmaps, and establish engineering standards for scalable deployment. * Align robotics, data center, internal engineering, SoftBank Group, and third-party partner teams to provide scalable autonomy capabilities. * Guide and mentor Softbank Group engineers and third-party partners without direct people management responsibilities, elevating technical judgment and Mechatronics best practices. * Contribute to technical planning, estimation and delivery of key project milestones. * Experience establishing or executing verification and validation processes, including simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, FAT/SAT, site validation, or field deployment. * Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across software, controls, mechanical, and electrical systems. * Iterate on end effectors, hardware interfaces, and robotic subsystems with partners. * Help build scalable software infrastructure, device management systems, and fleet coordination protocols by collaborating with Softbank Group affiliates and third-party partners. * Lead the transition of R&D feasibility studies into production-ready integrated systems. * Evaluate emerging technologies, tools and methodologies to improve robotics capabilities and engineering productivity. * Produce clear technical documentation and communicate engineering decisions effectively to a range of stakeholders. CANDIDATE PROFILE ESSENTIAL * 8+ years of experience in automation or equipment engineering, with a focus on mechatronic subsystems and modular machine design. * Experience taking robotic or automated systems from prototype/R&D into production or field deployment. * Experience with material handling systems, automated equipment, or productionized robotic solutions. * Familiarity with 3D localization or VLM-based object detection (e.g., perception/ segmentation). * Experience conducting FAT/SAT validation and managing technical deliverables with partners and manufacturers. * Proven ability to debug the "full-stack": PLC logic, high-level code (C# or Python), and complex mechanical/electrical hardware. * Experience with robotics frameworks and middleware such as ROS/ROS 2 and IsaacSIM for modeling robotic interactions and path planning. * Strong understanding of robotics fundamentals including perception, localization, mapping, planning or control. * Ability to lead technical initiatives and influence engineering direction through expertise and collaboration. * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. * Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams. * Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. JOB SUMMARY We are looking for a Staff Digital Twin Engineer to help design, build and evolve digital twin capabilities that support the development, validation and operation of advanced AI compute systems. Reporting to an Engineering Manager within the Digital Twin / Simulation Platform team, this role will lead significant technical work across simulation, 3D visualization, data integration and workflow automation, with a particular focus on the Omniverse platform, OpenUSD-based pipelines, data center operations, and rack and blade-level design and simulation workflows. THE TEAM The Digital Twin / Simulation Engineer works with internal Graphcore teams and Softbank Group affiliates. Team will be responsible for the design, development and integration of simulation and visualization capabilities that support data center digital twin, machine behavior modeling and interactive 3D experiences. This role combines simulation engineering, real-time visualization and 3D scene-building using NVIDIA Omniverse and modern tool chains. Team will build behavioral logic, physics integrations, and visualization layers that enable accurate, high-performance representation of data center components, job sites and workflows. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES * This is a hands-on technical leadership role, involving architecture, implementation, technical guidance and mentoring, without direct line management responsibility. * Apply MBSE methodologies to drive the development of systems and ensure traceability from requirements to implementation. * Develop and deploy simulation logic and behavioral models governing machine and system behavior. Implement real‑time simulation algorithms, including kinematics, dynamics, and control‑system interactions. This includes integration of physics engines (e.g., PhysX, Omniverse Physics, or equivalent) to support realistic behavior and machine–environment interactions. * Develop and execute model validation and verification plans, ensuring digital twins are accurate and numerically stable. * Develop robust scene composition, data modeling and asset management approaches for engineering digital twins across component, blade, rack and facility-level views. * Create high-fidelity 3D models, scenes and environments in Omniverse. Develop interfaces that connect simulations to real‑time visualization, dashboards, and operator‑focused experiences. Implement automated test pipelines and document model correlations, limitations, and validation scoring. * Contribute to toolchain and pipeline design, including scripting utilities, automated test frameworks, and modular code libraries. Collaborate across data engineering/architecture, autonomy, product groups, and engineering to ensure interoperability and alignment with business needs. * Evaluate and implement new simulation libraries and real‑time rendering technologies that enhance simulation fidelity and performance. Work hands‑on with multiple digital‑twin platforms, such as: NVIDIA Omniverse (primary environment), CARLA, Siemens NX/Teamcenter/Plant Simulation, Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE, Ansys Twin Builder, Unity or similar. * Integrate engineering and operational data from simulation, test, telemetry, design systems, asset inventories and infrastructure sources into coherent digital twin environments. * Support testing, debugging, performance analysis and reliability improvements across digital twin applications and services. * Establish engineering best practices for OpenUSD schemas, Omniverse workflows, version control, documentation and release processes. * Provide technical guidance, code review and mentoring to engineers working with digital twin, simulation and data integration technologies. * Produce clear technical documentation and communicate progress, risks and decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders. CANDIDATE PROFILE ESSENTIAL * Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline. * 8+ years of engineering experience in automation, simulation, or controls. * Experience designing, building or maintaining digital twin, simulation, 3D visualization or engineering platform software. * Hands-on experience with the Omniverse platform, including Omniverse Kit, extensions, connectors or related development workflows. * Strong knowledge of OpenUSD / USD concepts, including composition, layering, schemas, assets and scene graph workflows. * Experience working with data center operations, infrastructure environments, operational planning or systems used to manage complex technical facilities. * Experience developing simulation or modeling workflows that support engineering decisions for complex hardware, infrastructure or operational systems. * Strong software engineering skills in Python, C++ or both, with experience building maintainable production-quality tools or services. * Experience integrating complex engineering and operational data from multiple systems, formats or APIs into usable software workflows. * Understanding simulation, real-time visualization, physics-based modeling, rendering pipelines or spatial computing concepts. * Ability to lead complex technical tasks independently, manage priorities and make sound engineering decisions with incomplete information. * Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple engineering disciplines. * Experience reviewing designs and code, sharing technical knowledge and helping other engineers adopt new tools and practices.
