This is Adyen
Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft -
making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.
For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure
they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and
solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.
Platform Engineering enables business growth by providing the shared foundation that lets Adyen engineers autonomously build and
support secure, scalable, and reliable products — from data centers and networks to deployment environments and database
solutions.
As Senior Service Designer for Platform Engineering, you will improve the end-to-end developer experience across internal tools,
workflows, and platform capabilities. The role blends service design, UX strategy, and hands-on design consultancy. You will act
as the bridge between high-level strategy and tactical execution, making Platform Engineering feel and function like a single,
cohesive experience rather than ~100 disconnected products.
You will start with the Developer Center — the central developer platform and launch pad for everything else — then expand to the
journey across the wider developer ecosystem, which today is fragmented and inconsistent. You will work on both improving what
exists and shaping what comes next.
You can expect an 80/20 split as you come into Adyen, where 80% of your time and work will be in service design, and 20% could
involve hands-on user experience or user interface design. At Adyen, people own their career, so while this is what you can expect
initially, this role will be yours to shape.
playbook — you are writing it, and socializing it across PX as the example of what good looks like.
directly into how fast Adyen can build and ship.
leadership — not just respond to them.
methods and creating a multiplier effect well beyond your own projects.
Build the service ecosystem. Map and own the end-to-end service journey for Platform Engineering. You look beyond the screen to
design how people, processes, and technology work together to create a seamless experience.
Drive continuous improvement across systems. Create interventions that change how whole teams and systems work together, advancing
the organization — not just individual features.
Enable design thinking at scale. Act as a consultant to product and engineering teams, giving them the tools and methodologies to
apply design to their own problem spaces.
Shape AI-enabled developer experiences. Design how AI shows up in developer workflows — from discovery and self-service to
troubleshooting, documentation, and automation — applying it where it creates real value and improves productivity without adding
complexity.
Define the strategic vision. Take ownership of broad, undefined spaces within the internal developer platform. You frame the
problem and create a clear service strategy that balances user needs with technical and regulatory constraints.
Consult on UX/UI excellence. Partner with product teams to ensure individual features align with the broader platform logic and
meet our high bar for usability. Should be comfortable solving or unblocking UI or UX problems as they arise in teams.
Partner across the organization. Work with Product, Technology, and Data Analytics to turn complex data into actionable service
blueprints and long-term roadmaps.
Articulate value. Communicate service methodologies and the tangible business impact they deliver to senior stakeholders and
cross-functional partners.
Experience. 8+ years in design overall, including 3+ years specifically in service design, navigating complex software or hardware
environments. You have a proven track record of using service design to simplify intricate workflows in SaaS or B2B products.
Full-stack service design. You develop a deep, top-to-bottom understanding of the systems underlying developer touchpoints, so you
can make operational improvements that matter to people and have a positive impact on developer satisfaction and retention.
Systems thinking. You see the big picture. You map intricate journeys that span entire ecosystems — looking up, down, and across —
ensuring consistency and logic at every touchpoint.
Consulting mindset. You are comfortable as a coach and advisor, empowering other teams to make design-led decisions while holding
a high bar for the final output.
Exceptional communication. Standout facilitation and storytelling skills. You think about both company systems and people systems,
and you build alignment across teams that don’t naturally work together.
Technically fluent. Strongly tech-savvy and comfortable in technical conversations without needing to be an engineer. Ideally
you’ve built complex application offerings or worked as a systems designer in an ecosystem environment.
AI and innovation mindset. You have experience integrating AI tools into the end-to-end design process — leveraging AI for
research, synthesis, or prototyping — and you can enable others to use these tools to work smarter and faster.
Nice to have
complex financial user needs.

ABOUT US This role is fully remote. You can be located anywhere in Europe with a + in France. Cycloid’s mission is to help organizations scale their platform engineering initiatives. Our platform optimizes the developer experience and operational efficiency by accelerating the delivery of internal developer portals and platforms. We reduce cognitive load for IT teams and advocate for FinOps and Green IT best practices. With Cycloid, platform teams don’t need to start from scratch to get a fully customized and sustainable solution. Platform teams use Cycloid to design, build, and run platforms that enable end users to visualize, deploy, and manage projects, interact with DevOps and Cloud automation, and enforce best practices without needing deep expertise, all while keeping cloud costs and carbon footprint under control. Cycloid is both an Internal Developer Platform and an Internal Developer Portal, with modules covering self-service workflows, platform orchestration, project lifecycle and resource management, FinOps and GreenOps, and an extensible plugin system. It can be consumed via the web console, CLI, or API. We are an open organization. Your voice matters, and your point of view has a real impact on how we work and what we build. We are looking for someone opinionated, pragmatic, and comfortable shaping direction, not just executing. Our long-term goal is to build the leading internal developer platform in the world, sustainably. WHAT IS MY CHALLENGE ? Cycloid is currently defining the foundations, plans, and specifications for a full-scale rewrite of the platform, including a deep integration of AI into both development and design workflows. We are rethinking architecture, UX patterns, workflows, and the entire product experience. You will own the design function end-to-end and become the primary driver of the product design vision for this new platform. This is a hands-on IC role: deep product thinking, complex systems UX, architecture-level design, and UI execution. The design team is currently composed of one person (who will transition out), meaning you will step into a role with full ownership and autonomy, directly collaborating with product, engineering, DevOps experts, and the Founder. This is a product-first role. You will work on complex workflows, platform and infrastructure UX, configuration models, permissions, environment lifecycle, and the connective tissue that helps highly technical and less technical users be successful. We value designers who understand how things are built. You don’t need to be an engineer, but you must be comfortable discussing implementation constraints, reading code when useful, and collaborating efficiently with engineering teams. WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE TABLE? RESPONSIBILITIES * Own and drive the product design vision for Cycloid, in alignment with product strategy and company goals. * Lead the design of new features end-to-end: discovery, flows, architecture, prototypes, UI, and iterative refinement. * Shape UX for complex, technical domains such as platform engineering workflows, infrastructure automation, permissions, configuration, and lifecycle management. * Collaborate daily with product managers, frontend, backend, and DevOps experts to define requirements, challenge assumptions, and validate solutions. * Establish a scalable design system for the next-generation version of Cycloid, ensuring coherence, quality, and long-term maintainability. * Integrate AI-powered workflows and tools into design processes to accelerate discovery, prototyping, documentation, and iteration. * Work closely with frontend teams to translate designs into high-quality Vue.js implementations; contribute small visual or interaction fixes when appropriate. * Provide clear reporting to the Founder on product direction, priorities, and progress. REQUIREMENTS * 10+ years of experience in product design, including senior or lead-level ownership of complex products. * Proven experience driving design for technical products (developer tools, platforms, infrastructure, SaaS, DevOps, or cloud software strongly preferred). * Demonstrated ability to own design in small or startup teams; able to bootstrap a design practice before scaling the design team progressively. * Strong interaction design, UX architecture, and UI design skills, with a portfolio that shows systems thinking and clarity. * Comfortable with frontend fundamentals (HTML, CSS, basic JS) and able to reason about implementation trade-offs. * Experience influencing product strategy and collaborating closely with engineers. * Ability to communicate design rationale, constraints, and decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences. * Pragmatic, simplicity-oriented problem-solving mindset (KISS). * Fluent in English. * Startup mindset and comfort operating with autonomy. NICE TO HAVE * French speaker. * Deep understanding of the IDP, DevOps, Cloud, CMP, or developer tooling ecosystem. WHAT WE BRING TO THE TABLE * Competitive salary and benefits. * 100% remote work. * High autonomy and full ownership of product design. * A friendly, highly technical team. * Real influence on the direction of a growing platform. * Support for professional development and continuous learning. * Strong commitment to sustainability and positive environmental impact. * Home office setup budget up to €1200. * Choose-your-own-device policy. * One company retreat per year in the EU. HOW WE MANAGE FROM NOW * Application review (resume + portfolio). * Interview with the current design lead to discuss your background, design approach, and fit. * Design exercise to evaluate product thinking, systems design, and execution quality. * Interviews with cross-functional leads (product, engineering, DevOps) and Founder to align on workflows and product vision. * Reference check with your previous 3 N+1 managers and direct reports. Cycloid is committed to equal opportunity and inclusive hiring. If the role resonates with you, we’d be happy to talk, even if you don’t tick every box.
🌏 Mission: At Too Good To Go, we have an ambitious mission: to inspire and empower everyone to fight food waste together. Alongside our app, we operate an end-to-end surplus food management solution and influence legislation to reduce food waste. 📈 Scale: We’re growing fast: Our community of 133+ million registered users and 261.000 active partners across 20 countries has together already saved 517+ million meals from going to waste - avoiding over 1.4 million tonnes of CO2e! We partner with some of the industry’s biggest names, like Starbucks, Whole Foods Market, Krispy Kreme, and others, to drive social and climate impact. ⭐️ Impact: We are a certified B Corp social impact company. Too Good To Go was named in FastCompany's list of the World's Most Innovative Companies and World Changing Ideas. We are also honoured to be included in TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies. Most recently, we won Apple’s coveted Cultural Impact Winner. Your Mission: Mystore, our web-based partner platform, is in the middle of a major shift toward self-service. We are helping stores onboard faster, manage supply independently, and understand their performance without manual intervention. This is a complex design challenge at real scale. We need a Senior Product Designer to own a meaningful part of this transformation—closing the gap between where the platform is today and where we are taking it. Our Approach: We design for busy store owners and employees—people managing real operational complexity who rely on tools that simply work. That means designing experiences that reduce cognitive load, fit naturally into workflows, and make complex tasks feel obvious. We care deeply about simplicity—not minimalism for its own sake, but clarity that scales across markets, partner types, and operational realities. To get there, we combine strong product thinking, systems thinking, and high craft. We work closely with product and engineering, we actively use AI-enabled workflows for discovery—including custom prototyping setups we have built with Claude Code and Cursor. You’ll join a small team of designers with a builders mentality that have meaningful influence across both product direction and how we scale design within the company. What You’ll Do * Own design strategy for the self-serve transformation: Own design strategy for the evolution of MyStore — shaping everything from self-serve operational workflows to future partner-facing product experiences. You’ll drive end-to-end product design from discovery through shipped outcomes. * Translate research and data into direction: Work with research to identify friction points and use Amplitude insights to validate decisions and uncover new opportunities. * Define partner-first simplicity at scale: Co-own design standards that keep our platform intuitive as we grow, including contribution to Pantry, our unified design system. * Co-own our AI design practice: Help shape how we integrate AI into discovery, exploration, and validation—working alongside a team already highly invested in these tools. * Influence our design culture: Lead critiques that raise the bar. Give and receive feedback that strengthens craft. Help us maintain simplicity and delight even as we move fast. * Advocate for the "Why": Communicate your designs and rationale clearly in product reviews. You explain the strategic thinking and business impact, not just the pixels. What We’re Looking For * Deep Craft: You benchmark actively and notice what others miss. For us, that means design that removes cognitive load so partners intuitively know what to do next. * A Builder at Heart: You’re drawn to working close to the material—collaborating with engineers, prototyping to test ideas, and using AI to accelerate thinking. * Systems Thinking: You understand we’re a marketplace; every decision ripples across both sides. You design with the full ecosystem in mind. * Genuine Product Thinking: You care about outcomes over ownership. You move fluidly across functions and go where the work needs you. * Comfort with Ambiguity: You independently break down problems and move toward solutions without waiting for a full brief. * Portfolio: Show us your personality and the work you've owned. We want a feel for the type of designer you are and the part you played in leading projects. * Nice to have: B2B/Marketplace experience, motion/animation background, or experience with AI-assisted workflows. Our values * We win together: Food waste is a big beast to fight. We believe in a #oneteam. * We raise the bar: We always push for more. We work smart, smash barriers and elevate one another. * We keep it simple: Our ambitions are bold but our solutions are simple. * We build a legacy: We’re proud of the change we’re driving. * We care: We always look out for each other. Caring is also about the way we do business. We do the right thing. What we have to offer * A rare opportunity to work in a social impact company (and certified B Corporation!) where you can see real and tangible impact in your role. * Working alongside an international community of users, partners and 1,350+ colleagues across 20 countries that are on the same important mission. * Personal and professional development opportunities in a fast-paced scale-up environment. * An inclusive company culture where you can bring your authentic self to work * A strong, values-driven team culture where we celebrate successes and socialise with colleagues that care. Benefits * WORK FLEXIBLY: * Enjoy hybrid working from our great offices, at home or abroad. * Extra parental leave and days off beyond local legislation and the option to take an extra week of unpaid leave * Health insurance and pension plans (subject to country of employment). * Additional days off for significant life events * CELEBRATE & SOCIALISE * Regular social events like summer and winter parties. * Coffee, snacks and fully-equipped kitchens. * Get to know our community with a monthly free Surprise Bag * Paid volunteer time through our Shareback volunteering programme * Women in the Workplace, P.R.I.D.E., People of Colour and Functionally Diverse Employee Resource Groups How to apply * We take recruitment very seriously, so please carefully read everything we have written above. Please also check our website and international media in order to get a good overview of Too Good To Go. * Submit your CV and Cover letter in English. * Please note that we only accept applications coming through our platform. No CV or Cover Letter will be accepted by email or LinkedIn direct messaging. #LI-LO1 #LI-Hybrid A Movement for Everyone We want to inspire and empower everyone to fight food waste together. With that mission, it’s only natural that we want to build a diverse and inclusive team of highly capable individuals who are passionate about doing things in a better way. We are an equal opportunity employer and all employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit and business need. If you need reasonable accommodation at any point in the application or interview process, please let us know.
