The Senior Market Risk Manager, you will provides second-line oversight of market risk across all trading activities. Reporting
into the Market Risk Lead, this senior individual contributor role is accountable for the day-to-day execution and continuous
improvement of the market risk framework limits, monitoring, stress testing and analytics and acts as a trusted advisor to the
trading desks. A core part of the role is working side-by-side with the trading desks to build a first-hand understanding of their
strategies and exposures and translating that insight into a risk framework that is both robust and commercially relevant. This is
a senior specialist role (not a people-management role).

WHAT YOU’LL DO * Ensure the organisation’s approach to the treatment of risk is aligned with its Risk Management Framework, Risk Strategy and Risk Appetite. * Conduct Risk and Control Self-Assesments and prepare evidence of control framework adherence for senior management and Board. * Provide education and training to the rest of the Firm on their responsibilities to ensure adherence to risk requirements. * Oversee and challenge risk event/ incident management from initial reporting through to remediation and closure. * Demonstrating an understanding of liquidity risk management and stress testing. * Provide an overview and challenge of the trading risk to which the Firm is exposed. * Provide risk reports and updates on the Firm’s risk profile through risk governance. * Participate in the company's new product approval process, ensuring risks are identified early with mitigation strategies applied. * Report and track organisational Key Risk / Performance Indicators (KRIs/ KPIs) for evaluating risk management performance, strategy, processes, and controls. * Promote the view that risk management is a universal responsibility and acts as a risk champion across the organisation. ABOUT THE ROLE: * As Senior Liquidity Risk Manager, you will own the design, implementation, and ongoing oversight of Upvest’s liquidity risk framework — a critical function for a BaFin-regulated investment firm operating at scale across Europe. * You will work closely with Treasury, Finance, and senior leadership to ensure Upvest maintains a robust and compliant liquidity position as we expand across Europe. * This is a high-impact, highly visible role at the intersection of regulatory compliance, strategic finance, and operational excellence — you’ll be central to how Upvest manages risk at the next stage of growth. WHAT YOU’LL DO: * Quantitative Analytics: Lead advanced quantitative modeling and analyze complex risk data to provide strategic insights on liquidity, funding, and stress testing (ILAAP). * Risk Governance: Design and implement comprehensive mitigation strategies and robust risk controls across our core business processes. * Projects & Tooling: Own high-impact risk projects, including the architecture and deployment of next-generation risk models and tools—initially for Financial and Non-Financial domains, with a clear path into the broader universe of Risk Management. * Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary expert for financial risk inquiries, translating complex quantitative findings for senior leadership, external partners, and regulators (BaFin). * Leadership & Collaboration: Mentor junior team members and drive cross-departmental initiatives (IT GRC, Outsourcing, Finance, Compliance, Operations) to scale our risk infrastructure. WHAT YOU BRING: * Experience: 5+ years in risk management or treasury within a regulated bank or financial institution. * Regulatory Expertise: Strong understanding of European/BaFin regulatory frameworks (CRR, LCR, NSFR, ILAAP, MaRisk). * Technical & Modeling Skills: Hands-on experience building or operating quantitative risk models and cash flow forecasting tools (SQL/Python skills are a plus). * Project & Cross-Functional Power: Proven track record of driving complex projects across domains like IT GRC, Outsourcing, or Compliance. * Leadership & Communication: Exceptional ability to mentor junior colleagues and articulate complex financial risks clearly to C-level executives and external partners. * Languages: Fluency in English; German language skills are a strong advantage. Team The Risk Controlling team shapes Raisin Group’s resilience by establishing and maintaining the group-wide risk management framework in line with regulatory standards such as Basel. The team defines risk policies and controls and is responsible for identifying and assessing material risks across the group, including operational, credit, market, and liquidity risk, using methods such as risk assessments, stress testing, and scenario analysis. In addition, Risk Controlling continuously monitors the group’s risk profile through risk metrics, key risk indicators, and early warning signals. The team prepares risk reporting for senior management and regulatory authorities and supports capital and liquidity adequacy assessments in line with regulatory requirements, ensuring the business model is backed by appropriate risk-bearing capacity and liquidity strength. Your Responsibilities The Operational Risk Manager identifies, assesses, monitors, and reports operational risks in line with internal frameworks and regulatory requirements, including MaRisk and Basel III, as part of the second line of defense. Key responsibilities: * Perform operational risk identification and assessment, including RCSA, scenario analysis, and loss database management * Proactively follow up on operational risk events and conduct lessons-learned analyses with business units * Provide independent operational risk input to projects and New Product Approval Processes * Monitor risk indicators and oversee incident and loss reporting * Maintain and enhance the Operational Risk Management Framework in line with MaRisk and Basel III * Prepare operational risk reports for senior management and governance committees * Support development of risk appetite and control enhancements Your Profile You bring strong analytical capability, sound judgment, and a structured approach to operational risk management in a regulated banking environment. Key requirements: * Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, Economics, or a related field * 3–5 years of experience in operational risk management, internal audit, or risk consulting within banking or financial services * Hands-on experience with RCSA, incident management, and risk indicators * Solid knowledge of regulatory requirements, including MaRisk and Basel III * Experience with risk management systems and tools, including loss database and RCSA tracking * Ability to balance operational execution with an enterprise-wide risk perspective * Strong communication skills to work across functions and present risk topics to senior management * Proactive, independent working style with strong ownership and attention to detail * Professional certifications are a plus Join our mission, join our team – and grow with us!
