Role: HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic Location: Bexley, DA1 5QJ Hours: 45 hours per week | between 07:30 and 17:00 Monday to Friday Salary: between £39,757.81 - £47,141.52 pa DOE    Are you a skilled technician with a passion for vehicle maintenance and a commitment to high standards? We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HGV Technician to join our Aftermarket team! This hands-on role involves maintaining and repairing refuse collection vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction every step of the way. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on chassis and mounted equipment * Service vehicles to VOSA standards and prepare them for MOT inspections * Complete body and chassis repairs and ensure compliance with Department of Transport specifications * Maintain accurate records and enter job details into company systems * Liaise professionally with customers and work independently at customer sites * Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to company standards * Follow health and safety procedures and conduct risk assessments where required * Undertake training to enhance technical skills and knowledge IDEAL CANDIDATE: * NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance * Proven experience in commercial vehicle repair and servicing * Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills * Understanding of electronics, hydraulics, and wiring diagrams * Excellent communication and customer service skills * Ability to work independently and manage time effectively * Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including overtime * Experience with electric vehicles, IRTEC qualification, or HGV Class 2 licence is a bonus If you’re ready to take your technical skills to the next level, we’d love to hear from you!     We welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
