Right now, we are looking for a Process Engineer – Hydrogen Production & Direct Reduction for our Green Iron Operations. The team is responsible for optimizing process performance, supporting safe and stable operations, and driving continuous improvements across our hydrogen production and direct reduction plants. Specific to this role, the day-to-day tasks will include the following, but as we are a growing company with very few silos between teams, other tasks might be included as well. Provide day-to-day process engineering support to ensure safe, stable, and efficient plant operations. Monitor plant performance, troubleshoot process upsets, and lead root cause analyses to improve reliability and operational excellence. Optimize process performance through process modelling, heat and mass balances, debottlenecking, and energy efficiency initiatives. Support hydrogen production and direct reduction operations during commissioning, start-ups, shutdowns, and operational changes. Review and develop engineering documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, SOPs, and process control strategies. Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Automation, and OEM partners to improve process performance and implement engineering solutions. Drive continuous improvement projects, monitor production KPIs, and prepare technical reports to support data-driven decision-making. Promote safe operations by supporting process safety activities, hydrogen safety standards, PTW/LOTO compliance, and technical training.
