Stockholms universitets Östersjöcentrum söker en Forskningstekniker som ska ansvara för utveckling och drift av olika vetenskapliga instrument och sensorsinfrastruktur på Östersjöcentrums fältstation Askö laboratoriet samt på Stockholm universitets (SU) eget forskningsfartyg RV Electra. Stockholms universitets Östersjöcentrum är navet för universitetets forskning om Östersjön. Verksamheten bedrivs både inom centret och i nära samarbete med andra institutioner. Genom ett tvärvetenskapligt arbetssätt bidrar vi med kunskap som stödjer myndigheter och andra samhällsaktörer i arbetet för en hållbar förvaltning av Östersjöns miljö. En viktig del av vårt uppdrag är att stödja marin forskning och utbildning genom att tillhandahålla avancerad forskningsinfrastruktur. Instrumenten används i forskningsprojekt och omfattar både portabla fältinstrument och fast installerad utrustning, exempelvis masspektrometrar samt oceanografiska och geofysiska mätsystem. Den primära arbetsplatsen är Askö, i Trosa skärgård, men ibland kommer olika möten ske på SU campus med forskare och annan teknisk kompetens. På Askö ingår du i ett team som jobbar nära tillsammans för att kunna möta behoven hos olika forskningsprojekt och fältkurser. Huvudsakliga arbetsuppgifter för forskningsteknikern kommer att vara: att utveckla och underhålla vetenskaplig utrustning och elektroniska mätinstrument vid Askö laboratoriet, att utveckla och underhålla vetenskaplig utrustning och elektroniska mätinstrument på RV Electra, att delta i nationella forskningskryssningar och stödja mätningar så som geofysisk kartering samt sediment-, vattenkolumn- och atmosfärsmätningar. Ansvarsområden inkluderar följande: I samarbete med personalen vid Askölaboratoriet samt forskare och tekniker vid Stockholms universitet ansvara för drift, utveckling och underhåll av följande elektroniska mätinstrument och forskningssystem: geofysiska mätsystem ombord på forskningsfartyg, såsom multistråleekolod, sedimentpenetrerande ekolod och ekolod för fiskeriforskning; oceanografiska mätsystem, såsom CTD (Conductivity, Temperature, Depth) och ADCP (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler); ROV-system (Remotely Operated Vehicle); FlowCytoBot (automatiserad flödescytometer och robotmikroskop); samt atmosfäriska mätsystem (masspektrometrar). Underhåll och utveckling av IT-infrastruktur på RV Electra och mätplattformer. Aktiv roll i samarbete om dataöverföring/-lagring i ÖCs databaser samt dokumentation av arbetsflöde. Deltagande i planering och genomförande av vetenskapliga kryssningar och fältkampanjer i samarbete med forskare och övrig personal. Kvalifikationer Sökande ska ha en akademisk examen inom ingenjörsvetenskap eller naturvetenskaplig utbildning med teknisk kompetens som arbetsgivaren kan bedöma som likvärdig. Minst 1-2 års arbetslivserfarenhet inom maskin/teknik med praktisk erfarenhet av att utföra installationer och reparationer. Som person är du initiativtagande och har en strukturerad arbetssätt. Du är intresserad av teknik och villig att lära dig nya färdigheter. The Mechatronics Design Engineer will work alongside other engineers and internal company personnel to engineer final design solutions, develop conceptual designs, support existing products and perform testing/analysis of new and existing products. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE * Degree or HND in Mechatronics, Control, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience. * At least 5–8 years’ experience in electro-mechanical or industrial control systems, preferably with electro-hydraulic integration. * Experience of basic controls system programming, ladder logic and sensor integration. * Experience in mechanical design and verification (preferred). * Hands-on commissioning experience (FAT/SAT), with willingness to travel for abroad for such work. * Strong IT, written, and verbal communication skills. * Full UK driving license (preferred, not required). MACHINE LEARNING ENGINEER As a member of the ML-team you will be working with a broad range of problems with one common denominator – ML will be the key ingredient. Turn ship physics into software people actually use At Cetasol we build the monitoring and analytics platform that commercial fleets use to cut fuel consumption, understand how their vessels really perform, and stay on the right side of CII and EU MRV reporting. A growing part of that platform is predictive maintenance: catching when an engine, generator, thruster, or the vessel as a whole starts behaving differently than it should, before it becomes a failure. Getting there takes two things that rarely live in the same person: an understanding of the physics behind how these assets actually behave, and the engineering skill to ship that understanding as a working product. Örebro University and the School of Science and Technology are looking for a doctoral student for the doctoral programme in Computer Science, concluding with a doctoral degree. Start date: Fall 2026. Project description The focus of the doctoral project is explainable machine learning for neuromorphic computing for predictive materials discovery. The doctoral student will be part of a larger project Brain-inspired AI Design of Topological Magnets for Sustainable Computing. The five-year project is a WASP-WISE-funded collaboration with research groups at Uppsala University and KTH for designing sustainable magnetic materials. The doctoral student will also be part of the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Programme (WASP) and graduate school. We are looking for up to two senior lecturers in Electrical Engineering for permanent employment at the School of Science and Technology. Subject area The subject area for this position is Electrical Engineering. Background We are looking for up to two new colleagues to strengthen our teaching and research related to electrical engineering, at the intersection of electrical engineering, robotics, and autonomous systems. Topics of interest include control theory, signal processing, sensors, electronics and mechatronics; potentially extending towards robot manipulation, robot perception and machine learning. You will be integrated into the research environment with possibilities to establish an independent research agenda connected to the unit's general topics.
