Right now, we are looking for a Process Engineer – Hydrogen Production & Direct Reduction for our Green Iron Operations. The team is responsible for optimizing process performance, supporting safe and stable operations, and driving continuous improvements across our hydrogen production and direct reduction plants. Specific to this role, the day-to-day tasks will include the following, but as we are a growing company with very few silos between teams, other tasks might be included as well. Provide day-to-day process engineering support to ensure safe, stable, and efficient plant operations. Your Key Responsibilities This role is a dedicated Annealing Process Specialist for the Luleå transformation project. The person will act as the on site (Luleå) technical liaison between the Cold Mill/Annealing operations and the R&D organization and laboratories located in Borlänge and Hämeenlinna. Their main responsibility is to ensure that annealing process requirements are clearly defined, validated, and integrated into both production and product development workflows. Hands-on experience not only practical in annealing operations within a steel production environment with specific background on continuous annealing and galvanizing of cold rolled steels. Leading the annealing questions within the cold mill complex and providing technical expertise. Running relevant technical questions/projects together with other relevant specialist groups to generate bases for decision making. Your Qualifications To thrive in this role, you bring: Higher academic degree, preferably in Steel Processes (M.Sc.) At least 10 years of experience in steel production, with a focus on annealing or thermal processing. Strong metallurgical and process engineering/operations background Deep understanding of continuous annealing processes, furnace operation, induction heating, and cooling curve control of cold rolled steels. Understand product quality and properties of steel behavior, in continuous annealing environment. Familiarity with Level 2 automation systems and process modelling tools. As Analytical Chemist you are responsible for the development, validation, and implementation of analytical methods for analysing incoming material, intermediate and finalized products for Research & Development, Production, and external suppliers on a wide range of instruments. Strict adherence to the principles of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Quality Management System requirements (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO- IEC 17025, etc.). Proven track record in statistical analysis and measurement system analysis (MSA). Participating in problem solving, technical troubleshooting exercises, and technical discussions where needed. Mentoring and training for technicians. Key responsibilities (not limited to) Develop, validate and document analytical methods and procedures for analyzing and characterizing new incoming and raw materials and product intermediates. Optimize analytical methods to increase efficiency and turn-around time of the laboratory. Execute the Quality Control and testing plan of raw materials and product intermediates.
