IMC has a strong presence in traditional Finance and has been expanding into Crypto over the last years. Through its overseas
affiliates, IMC provides liquidity and trades on many cryptocurrency exchanges and DeFi protocols. You can expect a dynamic,
fast-paced environment that delivers a steady stream of challenges and opportunities, with one of the most exciting aspects of the
job being our quick feedback loop in the research, development and deployment of strategies.
As a Python Software Engineer, you will work closely with our trading and engineering teams on a variety of applications, tools
and automation projects. You’ll be placed in an environment consisting primarily of a large Python analysis ecosystem drawing data
from various sources including our own trading systems. You’ll build analysis & visualisation tools at the heart of the business
logic, in close collaboration with the traders who use them. Your work involves both interpreting ideas, coming up with your own,
and efficiently implementing these into tools that are reliable, scalable and performant.
Together with traders, researchers and engineers, you deliver challenging projects, while taking ownership for end-to-end product
development – from requirements gathering to production. You’ll write reliable and scalable software while balancing time to
production with quality and testability. Advanced automated testing and daily deployments will allow you to achieve agile and
incremental benefits. Within a complex landscape of varying systems and technologies, you’ll be constantly challenged to consider
trade-offs between throughput, simplicity, scalability and maintainability.

DRW is a diversified trading firm with over 3 decades of experience bringing sophisticated technology and exceptional people together to operate in markets around the world. We value autonomy and the ability to quickly pivot to capture opportunities, so we operate using our own capital and trading at our own risk. Headquartered in Chicago with offices throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia, we trade a variety of asset classes including Fixed Income, ETFs, Equities, FX, Commodities and Energy across all major global markets. We have also leveraged our expertise and technology to expand into three non-traditional strategies: real estate, venture capital and cryptoassets. We operate with respect, curiosity and open minds. The people who thrive here share our belief that it’s not just what we do that matters–it's how we do it. DRW is a place of high expectations, integrity, innovation and a willingness to challenge consensus. DRW has an opening for a Senior Software Engineer focused on digital assets. All development teams at DRW believe in rapid deployment and feedback, automated testing, and cohesive, transparent, lightly-coupled service architectures. We ship on Kubernetes with modern CI/CD. Candidates should have strong initiative and proven experience independently driving projects to completion. Deep Python expertise is a meaningful differentiator for this role. - Cryptoassets, digital-asset operations, or custody / wallet platforms (or closely adjacent high-stakes money-movement systems) - DeFi, smart contracts, staking, or other on-chain systems - Full-stack development with Python (FastAPI) - Strong relational data modeling fundamentals - GitOps and Kubernetes - Job orchestration systems (Airflow, Prefect, etc.) For more information about DRW's processing activities and our use of job applicants' data, please view our Privacy Notice at https://drw.com/privacy-notice [https://drw.com/privacy-notice].
