Valo is targeting airliner-level safety certification in 2029 ahead of entering service with our airline and operator customers. What to Expect As a Vibroacoustic engineer, you’ll play a key role in understanding how Valo behaves in real-world vibration and acoustic environments. You’ll define and support DO-160-like operational vibration qualification, manage vibroacoustic models, and work closely with Flight Physics, test, certification, systems, and supplier teams to turn complex data into practical engineering decisions. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys structural dynamics, vibration testing, and working with imperfect data to solve meaningful aircraft development challenges.   What You’ll Do Own and support DO-160 operational vibrations and shock qualification activity for Valo systems and equipment. Manage, maintain, and develop vibroacoustic models to help assess aircraft vibration and internal noise behaviour. Analyse vibration data from ground testing and flight test activity. Support suppliers, test houses, and internal teams with vibration test planning, troubleshooting, and evidence review. Use structural dynamics knowledge to optimise Valo's vibroacoustic response. Help identify practical design or test solutions where data is incomplete, uncertain, or still developing. Work closely with Flight Physics, certification, test, systems, and supplier teams to support safe, evidence-led engineering decisions. Contribute to the development and qualification of Valo through a mix of modelling, analysis, testing, and hands-on problem solving.   What You’ll Bring A strong foundation in structural dynamics and vibroacoustics. Experience supporting vibration testing, qualification testing, or environmental test activity. Ability to analyse vibration data, including accelerometer data from ground or flight testing. Confidence working with suppliers, test houses, or external partners to resolve practical vibration test issues. A pragmatic approach to engineering decisions where data may be incomplete, uncertain, or still maturing. Experience in aerospace, rotorcraft, or eVTOL environments. Exposure to producing or reviewing certification evidence for vibration, dynamics, or qualification testing. What can you expect from us? We're on a mission. We’re looking for someone who * Has a track record of relentless shipping. * Has proven ability to navigate ambiguity and tackle novel technical challenges from conception to production. * Has strong CS Fundamentals. A deep understanding of data structures, algorithms (e.g., breadth-first search), and first-principles thinking to solve complex product problems. * Is expert-level in TypeScript (TS). Proficiency in building type-safe, scalable applications. You are a full-stack expert in the JavaScript/Node.js ecosystem with a pragmatic approach to tech debt and tool selection. * Has hands-on expertise with React, Angular, or Node.js, with the ability to move between frontend and backend as needed. * Has experience architecting on AWS (specifically Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and CloudFormation) or a proven "hungry to learn" mindset regarding serverless infrastructure. * Is disciplined towards best practice version control, CI/CD and code extensibility. Values interface safety through dimensionality reduction at interfaces. * Is obsessive about UX and optimises for this over arbitrary technical goals. * Is driven, impatient to grow and wants their shot to change the world. Our current stack We have 2 separate fully functional web apps in prod: one for clinical users and one for patients. Angular, React and Electron, Mixpanel/Posthog for analytics, a fully serverless backend in AWS (Cognito, Appsync GraphQL, Lambda, DynamoDB). We have good functional & unit test coverage and CI/CD.
