Supplier Program Manager – India Purpose of the Position: Reporting to the Director Strategic Supply Management, you will manage the relationship and performance of SMART’s suppliers and contract manufacturers for a portfolio of products. You will also serve as the operational head for SMART’s India supply chain, supporting supplier excellence and market growth initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities Core Responsibilities • Strategic Supplier Management o Own the supplier program management strategy related to the products in your portfolio. o Lead a cross-functional Supplier Focus Team to manage supplier relationships. o Liaise with SMART’s internal departments to ensure multidisciplinary resources are managed within the supply chain cycle. o Drive continuous improvement and supplier development. o Organize and manage Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs). • Supplier Cost Management o Negotiate pricing and commercial resolutions to quality issues. o Provide projections on market pricing and supplier pricing. o Analyze and approving purchase price variance requests. • Cost management initiatives o Benchmark India product and component costs o Manage and execute cost reduction initiatives. o Work with Product Management to develop cost reduction initiatives. o Pursue and implement cost-reduction activities with OEM/ODM/CM. • Supplier Order Management o Manage forecast communications and compliance with suppliers. o Escalation contact for material/scheduling issues with manufacturers. o Support Procurement Specialists during raw material shortages. o Collect monthly data from contract manufacturers (inventory, lead times, forecasts). o Ensure compliance with supply agreements, statements of work, and KPIs. o Advise operations management on delivery, quality, and cost risks. • Product lifecycle management in the Supply chain o Optimize cost exposure during product Phase In/Phase Out. o Report on Excess and Obsolete exposure across product lifecycles. o Manage material transitions, product transfers, and new product introductions. • Perform other duties as required. India Supply Chain Responsibilities • Act as operational head for SMART’s India supply chain, overseeing supplier performance on quality, cost, delivery, and flexibility. • Collaborate with India-based teams in sales, marketing, channel partners, customer service, project management, and vendors. • Support India market growth and resource allocation. • Lead product Phase In/Phase Out initiatives for the India market. • Serve as a bridge between SMART HQ and India operations, addressing operational gaps. • Drive and advance India’s “local for local” supply strategy. • Share India market and competitor intelligence to inform HQ decision-making. Education and Work Experience • Degree or diploma in business, purchasing, supply chain management, or a related field. • 10 years of solid experience in procurement or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Strong negotiation skills and experience with supplier and contract manufacturer agreements. • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and purchasing practices. • Experience working with international suppliers, especially in India, is an asset. • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written). • Ability to travel to India and work flexible hours. Summary: The Director of Quality & Safety is responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements, drive operational strategies to improve efficiency and manage the quality and safety at MC2. This role overseas MC2’s Quality and Safety systems, certifications, and accreditations while developing and implementing policies, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities: * Manage and Lead the Quality and Safety teams throughout MC2. * Ensure company compliance with all relevant regulatory and legal requirements. * Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency. * Oversight of, and accountability for, Quality and Safety systems, as well as MC2’s accreditations and related processes, including: * TCCA AMO Certification * TCCA Manufacturing Approval * Foreign MPM Supplements (e.g. FAA, EASA, JCAB) in support of Eagle’s international activities Develop, administer and enforce: * * MC2’s Quality Policy, Standards, Processes and Procedures. * Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Standards and Procedures. * Develop, implement and administer: * A comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS), including acting as or assigning the SMS coordinator. * An AS9100 Accredited Quality Management System (QMS). * Supplier and contractor Quality evaluations. * Training programs to ensure personnel remain aware of their technical responsibilities. * Drive continuous improvement initiatives for Quality and Safety systems. * Implement and oversea enforcement, Non‐Conformance, Audit and Surveillance programs. * Select and implement IT resources for Quality and Safety (i.e. required software applications / databases etc.). * Accountable for Service Difficulty Reporting activities in accordance with regulatory requirements. * Oversee MRO and Manufacturing work, including Quality Assurance documentation and Major Modification Report review and submission. * Conduct Quality reviews of Work Orders and Purchase Orders before filing. * Complete customer self-audits and provide reporting on Quality and Safety metrics. * Lead Quality and Safety training programs for MC2 personnel. * Collaborate with department leaders to maintain Quality and Safety system integrity. * Report on effectiveness and suitability of Quality and Safety systems to senior management and executives. * Maintain proficiency with respect to the latest regulatory requirements and guidance. * Participation in the TCCA CARAC process, including, monitor regulatory changes and determine impact on Company policies and procedures. * Mentor direct reports and less experienced colleagues. * Maintain precision tool calibration program and record retention. * Assume the responsibilities of the CAR 561 PRM-A and CAR 573 PRM in their absence. * Fulfill additional duties outlined in the CAR 573 Maintenance Policy Manual and CAR 561 Manufacturing Policy Manual and Incorporated Documents. * Travel both domestically and internationally as required. Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in quality management, Engineering or a related program or equivalent combination of education and experience such as an AME licence plus 10 years’ experience in a Transport Canada Approved Maintenance and Manufacturing Organization. * Minimum of 10 years of related experience in a Quality Assurance / Safety role. * Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading effective teams. * Experience in QMS and Safety metrics. * Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001. * Strong background in Audits and Corrective Action Plans. * Excellent computer skills relating to Microsoft Office, ERP and Quality related software suites. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * A positive and proactive attitude related to the support and improvement of Eagle Quality and Safety systems. * An understanding of effective continuous improvement. * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
