Fabrication Quality Manager 

The Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication projects, with success measured by safety, on-time delivery, budget adherence, and client satisfaction. The Project Manager collaborates closely with internal teams, including estimating, detailing, engineering, procurement, production, quality, and logistics, to drive project success and strengthen client relationships. This role also supports continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and business growth within the fabrication business line.   Core Competencies: * Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Metals Fabrication * Project Planning & Execution * Estimating * Financial & Commercial Acumen * Client Relationship Management * Communication & Stakeholder Engagement * Problem Solving & Decision Making * Time Management & Organization * Leadership & Team Development * Risk Management * Quality & Safety Focus * Adaptability & Continuous Improvement * Results Orientation * Teamwork * Attention to Detail   Job Duties * Complete Revenue and Margin targets for manufacturing projects. * Drive business growth by identifying new opportunities and supporting client retention. * Monitoring project delivery progress. * Meet with clients, stakeholders, and finance to report on project progress and address emerging issues. * Liaising with clients and building strong working relationships. * Devise cost-effective plans to enable project completion. * Managing risks to avoid delays or reputational damage. * Understand and implement WesTower’s Health and Safety policies and guidelines. * Coach and mentor project teams with performance reviews, one-on-one meetings, and constructive feedback. * Manage multiple fabrication projects from award through closeout. * Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and execution plans. * Coordinate detailing, procurement, shop fabrication, coatings, and delivery/installation requirements (as applicable). * Monitor production progress and proactively address schedule or cost variances. * Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, and quality standards (e.g., CWB, AISC, where applicable). * Accountable for project revenue, margin, and cost control. * Track and manage project costs, including labor, materials, subcontractors, and change orders. * Identify, price, and negotiate scope changes with clients. * Provide accurate forecasting and financial reporting. * Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders. * Build and maintain strong, professional relationships. * Lead project meetings and provide regular status updates. * Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded. * Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies. * Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes and documentation requirements. * Support continuous improvement initiatives within fabrication operations. * Promote and enforce a strong safety culture aligned with company policies and regulatory requirements. * Ensure project activities comply with all applicable HSE and quality standards. * Collaborate cross-functionally with estimating, detailing, engineering, procurement, production, quality, logistics, operations, and field teams to ensure project success. * Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to project coordinators or support staff. * Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment through effective leadership, mentorship, and open communication.   Requirements * High School Diploma or GED required; Technical Diploma, Engineering Degree, or related education preferred. * Minimum 5+ years of project management experience in structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals fabrication. * Strong understanding of fabrication processes, shop workflows, and erection considerations. * Experience reading and interpreting structural drawings, specifications, and contracts. * Knowledge of industry standards (CWB, AISC, AWS, CSA, etc.) is considered an asset. * Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Strong financial and commercial management skills. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.

Salary range: $100,000-$120,000 Summary of Duties: Plan, direct and coordinate activities of designated electrical construction projects. Make sure goals are achieved in a timely manner and within budget by performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Manage budgeting and scheduling. Administer contracts, buyout, documentation, meetings, billings, change conditions, labor productivity, cost control and project closeout. Primary Responsibilities: Manage and supervise day-to-day operations of staff teams on assigned projects. Initiate, review and oversee required project administration and documentation to avoid claims and protect the best interest of RK Electrical and our client. Ensure contract agreements are expeditiously secured, reviewed, processed and executed. Review, edit, finalize and distribute project budget. Conduct pre-construction turnover meetings for all assigned projects. Ensure required permits and/or licenses are obtained and posted. Initiate setup, monitoring and updating of project scheduling. Coordinate required procurement of materials and equipment with purchasing agent, with emphasis on buyout plan to meet, or improve on, established schedule dates and budget cost. Subcontract agreement negotiation, preparation, processing and execution. Ensure required submittal review, processing and approvals, and submittal logs are set-up and maintained. Develop, submit and obtain approval of billing schedule of values. Maintain an over billed cash position, and request retention release bill-down/payments. Collect payments, progress billing and retention receivables, on or before due dates. Price, negotiate and process change condition and change order work. Ensure assigned projects are properly staffed with appropriate field forces.  This includes: 1) review, updating and approval of labor resource loading; and, 2) labor productivity. Oversee tools and rental equipment use on all assigned projects.  Ensure that any tools and rental equipment not required, or not being utilized, are returned immediately. Responsible for overall financial performance of all assigned projects, including continual cost control, management and forecasting. Prepare accurately, and submit on time, all required project monthly contract valuations. Review, approve and process all subcontractor and supplier invoices. Attend monthly project management meeting and respond to any questions associated with assigned projects. Conduct regularly scheduled project staff meetings. Accountability: Comply with all company policies and procedures. All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected. RK Mechanical employees and subcontractors are required to implement and maintain all safety and health systems practices including the training requirements of RK Mechanical Orientation, site specific orientation, CPR/First Aid/AED/Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Identification and Reporting, and OSHA 30.
