About the role Brickanta is built by an AI-veteran team. We've been shipping AI systems since 2018 and have built technical products inside some of the world's biggest brands. Now we're pointing that at a $15 trillion industry that software mostly forgot. We build for a domain where reliability matters: high-stakes decisions, messy inputs, real money on the line. We're 20 people and moving fast. At our size you own big parts of the backend that the whole product stands on. You'll get fuzzy problems like "document ingestion needs to be fast and reliable," along with the room to decide what to build and the mandate to ship it. We don't optimize for credentials. We optimize for builders who ship. What you'll build and own The core services behind bid analysis, estimation, and procurement: APIs, data pipelines, background jobs, and the plumbing that turns messy construction inputs (documents, specs, standards, drawings) into structured data our AI can reason over and our customers can trust The data layer itself. Schema design, query performance, and the indexing and batching decisions that keep things fast as records pile up The architecture that outlives any single feature. You make the calls on data model, service boundaries, when to add a queue, and what breaks at 10x, and the rest of the team builds on them for years Reliability and evaluation infrastructure: the systems that measure quality, catch regressions, and make AI output repeatable and measurable Performance and observability that hold up as usage scales, so the product stays fast and debuggable under real load Integrations and forward-deployed problem-solving that make it work in the customer's reality The systems live in production, which means you run them. You're on call for what you build, and you write code that's debuggable when something goes wrong at 3am You're probably a fit if you Have shipped and operated backend systems in production. You've been on call, debugged the thing at 2am, and learned from it Have real fluency with SQL and relational data. You anticipate bottlenecks and can read the metrics after you ship to confirm it's working Have the judgment to know when to build something properly versus ship a rough version and revisit, which corners are safe to cut, and when "clever" is a liability. You've felt the consequences of getting this wrong Reason from user pain → solution → measurable outcome Care about correctness in messy, real-world data, including the edge cases that only appear in production Move fast and care about craft at the same time Raise the people around you through code review, patterns others follow, and mentoring, without slowing your own shipping Work with little management. You surface risks early, push back on shaky requirements, and translate between technical reality and business need, including talking to construction customers directly Have opinions about AI and LLM systems in production (evals, reliability, latency, cost) or are hungry to develop them How we work AI is core to how we build, not a bolt-on. We work AI-first day to day, encode our conventions and hard-won lessons into skill files, and expect everyone here to sharpen that craft as agentic engineering matures. If you've been pushing the edge of how AI fits into real engineering work, you'll fit right in. What success looks like In your first month you've shipped something real to production, you understand our stack and the shape of construction data, and you're already flagging what's fragile By your first quarter you own a core backend surface end to end. When it breaks, people look to you, and it breaks less because of decisions you've made By your first year the architecture you drove is load-bearing across the product, new engineers ramp faster on the patterns you set, and the systems you own are ones the team trusts without thinking about them Tech stack Something like: language and framework (e.g. Python/FastAPI, TypeScript/Node), primary database (e.g. Postgres), queue and cache (e.g. Redis), infra and deployment (e.g. AWS, Docker), plus the LLM tooling you use. List what a hire will actually touch. You can add the standard Brickanta line: prior experience with our exact stack is a nice-to-have, not a requirement. How we evaluate Show us what you've built: repos, demos, shipped products, systems you've owned end to end What you've made work counts for more than where you worked Note: Sweden is Brickanta's first and most important market. Working comfort in English is required; Swedish is a plus but not required. Keen on doing your life's work, bringing one of the world's largest and most impactful industries, the $15 trillion construction industry, into the AI era?

We bring stories to life across various formats for everyone to discover. Anytime. Anywhere. Ready for your next chapter? We're looking for an IT Operations Specialist to join our team in Stockholm! ABOUT THE ROLE Do you want to architect, develop, and take technical ownership of modern cloud Digital Workplace platforms while remaining hands-on, managing daily operations and handling routine workplace IT tasks? The IT Operations team is currently scaling our responsibilities and operations. While Storytel’s core IT landscape is primarily built around Google Workspace and macOS, we are in an exciting phase where we are taking over the IT responsibility for companies within the group that mainly operate on Microsoft 365. We are looking for this role to act as the technical bridge for this expansion, which brings an exciting increase in technical complexity, multi-tenant environments, and global reach. In this role, you will step into a vital and highly versatile position. While your primary focus will be acting as our internal driver for MDM and Microsoft 365 governance, this is a broad role where you will manage and work across a wide array of different systems, applications, processes, and projects. Simultaneously, you will remain hands-on, supporting the team in daily operations and taking ownership of Workplace IT. Growth & Opportunities For an ambitious candidate who successfully takes ownership and elevates our MDM and M365 environments, there are great opportunities to gradually shape the role and dive deeper into specialized infrastructure engineering and governance as our landscape evolves. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES * MDM Evolution & Management: Take ownership of managing and developing our device management across our hybrid device fleet with Microsoft Intune and Jamf. You will architect, build, and maintain secure device configurations while also focusing on creating a great user experience with a distinct Storytel look and feel across all endpoints. * M365 & Identity Governance: Architect, configure, and manage our Microsoft 365 environments within a complex multi-tenant structure. These environments are tightly integrated with Okta as part of an advanced identity architecture, utilizing HRiS as a Source * SaaS System Administration: Daily administration, user lifecycle management, and optimization of various SaaS systems used and provided across the group. * IT Projects & Continuous Improvement: Actively lead and execute various internal IT projects. You will be a driving force behind onboarding new group environments and constantly leveling up our technical setup. * Vendor Management & Procurement: Manage relationships and contracts with external IT vendors, hardware suppliers, and SaaS providers. You will oversee software licensing, optimize procurement processes, and ensure we partner with the right external stakeholders. Operational & Workplace Responsibilities * Office & AV technology: Driving the continuous improvement and development of our office technology and meeting rooms, while overseeing daily operations and support * IT-Equipment Management: Managing IT equipment lifecycle operations (procurement, inventory logistics, and on/offboarding setups) for a device fleet consisting primarily of MacBooks, alongside an increasing number of Windows devices. * Daily IT-support: Handling a broad variety of daily support requests from our end-users, both on-site and remote. Ranging from complex technical troubleshooting to routine, autopilot tasks REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS * Technical Experience: At least 3–5 years of experience working within IT operations, modern workplace management, or system administration. * MDM & M365 Expertise: Proven experience configuring and administering Microsoft Intune (device configuration, compliance policies, deployment) and managing Microsoft 365 environments. Experience with multi-tenant setups is a major plus. * Hands-on IT Support: Solid experience handling day-to-day workplace IT, end-user support, and hardware lifecycle management. * Advanced Workstation & OS Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of both Windows and macOS ecosystems, naturally becoming the go-to person in the team for anything related to computer management and troubleshooting. * Bonus Platform Knowledge: Experience with Okta, Google Workspace and Jamf is a strong advantage. * Language: Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken. Who You Are To thrive in this position, we are looking for a specific mindset and personality. We believe you recognize yourself in the following: * Autonomous & Driven: You don't wait for instructions. You identify what needs to be done, set your own agenda, and drive your initiatives to completion with high energy. * AI-Forward & Efficiency-Minded: You have a strong understanding of how to leverage AI to optimize your work. Actively finding ways to integrate AI into our systems to automate processes is critical to your success in this role. * Genuinely Tech-Savvy: You love technology and are motivated by continuous improvement. You take great pride in delivering high-quality, stable, and well-structured solutions. * People-Centric & Service-Minded: You are a genuine "people person" who excels at building relationships. You will interact extensively with users both at the office and in various other contexts, making a highly service-oriented mindset and strong interpersonal skills essential. * Humble & Versatile (Prestigeless): You move seamlessly between high-level cloud architecture and helping a colleague with an urgent hardware issue. You are ready to work broadly and jump in wherever the team needs you most. * Process-Minded: You have a natural ability to see the bigger picture and design structured, scalable processes rather than relying on ad-hoc fixes. Location & Workplace We operate on trust, meaning you have the freedom to manage your own calendar, shape your week, and adjust your daily working hours to fit your life. Since a vital part of your role involves managing our physical office ecosystem and hands-on device troubleshooting, this role naturally relies on your physical presence at our Stockholm HQ on a daily basis. However, you will have autonomy over your daily calendar and how you pace your hours. What We Offer A role with high autonomy, immense learning potential, and the chance to leave your mark on a global IT infrastructure from day one. You will join a skilled team that values initiative, continuous learning, and having fun along the way.
