POSITION SUMMARY The Glass Operations Mechanic will report directly to the Glass Operations Supervisor and is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and production tasks to assist with glass operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Perform all assigned significant maintenance repairs and upgrades in Glass Plant. This will include, but not be limited to: * Bearing replacement * Belt replacement * Lubrication system maintenance * Dust collector maintenance * Small mechanical construction projects (welding, piping, etc) * Air system maintenance * Operate Glass Cleaning, Glass Operations equipment as standard but be able to operate plant legacy equipment if required. * Packaging 1000 kg bulk bags of products via bulk bag loading system in Glass area. * Reports any inconsistencies and uses standard repair procedures. * Monitor quality and record general production information (when required). * Work in compliance with company safety, environmental and operating procedures. * Cleaning of the plant and work area as required. * Operate forklift and scissor lift. * Operate front end loader for glass transfer and waste removal. * Work at heights using fall protection. * Must know how to SAFELY operate all equipment used in the glass production area. * Maintain production at peak performance. * Be well versed and follow SOP’s for all production and maintenance operations. * Operate control panels. Operate equipment systems from a PLC interface (automated control) * Sample and analyze finished product per quality procedures (if required). * Assist with training of new employees. * Shift work is required. * Report any non-conformities to management. * Assist in investigation of customer complaints. * Maintain written quality records. * Must be able to communicate both written and verbally with management and through use of various productivity software programs as Sharepoint, Outlook email, Excel, etc * Perform preventive/condition based maintenance inspections and services in conjunction with the Operations Technicians. * Perform wear part maintenance and screen replacement (as defined by SOP’s) in conjunction with the Operation Technicians. * Other maintenance procedures as skills allow. * Effectively handle small tools. * Maintain and clean tools and equipment. * Other duties as required when directed by plant management. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE * Ability to lift up to 50 lb * Previous experience in a production/manufacturing setting * Capable of working in a team and independently * Capable of following a production/maintenance plan while working independently * Technical mechanical diploma is required * Welding, millwright or other mechanical RED Seal training is required. * 2nd year journeyman or 10+ years experience will be considered * Experience operating forklift, loader, and scissor lift is required. * Must have basic math skills. * Must have both verbal and written communication skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Required to stand, walk and climb; have mobility of hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. * Frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be capable of maneuvering heavy items. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. *Note: This opportunity follows a CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) and has 3 active vacancies: 2 morning shift (7:00am - 3:30pm) 1 afternoon shift (12:00 - 8:30pm) $2.00 per hour shift premium
Role Purpose Collecting, transporting, processing, disposing, and recycling waste and recyclables. The role of the Waste Resource Operative is to assist in the day to day running of the site or activity, to ensure that processes are carried out safely and efficiently. They will also contribute to the protection of the environment, efficient use of resources and enhancing quality in compliance with relevant regulation. Responsibilities Communicate with colleagues, customers and the General Public providing clear, accurate and timely information. Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills in the workplace. Plan the collection of waste, including access routes to and from the waste, safety and suitability of collection equipment and machinery. Prepare for the loading and un-loading of wastes and resources in line with regulatory and organisational policy and procedure. Collect Waste using manual and mechanical handling techniques, Reject waste and deal with non-conforming waste in accordance with organisational procedures. Identify and segregate materials that are suitable for recycling, check that recyclables confirm to required quality standards, prepare, check, maintain and use equipment for sorting materials for recycling, carry out sorting methods in accordance with organisational procedures and practices, deal with superfluous materials and non-recyclables. Dispose of wastes in accordance with regulatory and organisational procedures, demonstrate application of the Waste Hierarchy and regulatory requirements for the disposal of specific wastes, including hazardous wastes, asbestos, waste electrical and electronic equipment, clinical wastes. Follow safe working procedures and practices in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements. Identify and deal with problems which could affect health, safety and hygiene requirements in accordance with your responsibilities and company policies and procedures. Hazard spot – be able to recognise and report a near miss, incident, occurrence. Maintain records in accordance with organisational procedures e.g. Permits to Work, Route Maps, Waste Transfer Notes, Waste Segregation Sheets, Daily Checklists, Risk Assessments, Hazardous Waste Consignment Notes, Work Instructions, Daily Round Report, Defect Checks. Report problems which arise to the relevant person in line with organisational job role responsibilities. Prepare to use vehicles, machinery and equipment, including daily checks to confirm working order in accordance with work instructions and manufacturer’s instructions. Du kör enligt förplanerade rutter och hanterar extrahämtningar och eventuella avvikelser via datastöd i fordonet. Du utgår från våra lokaler i Skellefteå, där vi bland annat har personalutrymmen för chaufförer, lager och uppställningsplatser för våra fordon. Våra insamlingsfordon är baklastare, i huvudsak nya 4-facksfordon. Arbetstiderna är dagtid måndag till fredag. Vi söker dig som Har erfarenhet av att köra lastbil, gärna baklastare.
