ABOUT AURELIAN Aurelian builds AI tools that help 911 centers handle more with less, so telecommunicators can stay focused on what matters most and communities get the response they need. AVA is a conversational AI agent that answers non-emergency calls; the agent routes, triages, and resolves the calls without any human intervention. By handling administrative calls like noise complaints, lost dogs, and parking inquiries, AVA eliminates hold times and lets call-takers focus their energy on actual emergencies. CORA supports call-takers on the calls that matter most. CORA is an on-screen assistant that delivers real-time SOP checklists, smart reminders, and contextual guidance as an emergency call unfolds, so dispatchers stay calm, consistent, and confident when every second counts. When AVA detects an emergency mid-call, it transfers the caller to a telecommunicator and passes along the caller details, location, incident type, and key statements directly into CORA. The call-taker never starts from scratch. The problem we're solving is serious. The average emergency communications center is 30% understaffed nationwide. Staffing shortages drive burnout and attrition, which makes the shortage worse. Meanwhile, 60-80% of the calls coming in aren't even emergencies at all. Aurelian addresses both sides of that equation: AVA reduces unnecessary call volume, and CORA makes every emergency call more manageable for the people handling it. Aurelian is live in centers across the country, answering thousands of non-emergency calls every day, and is backed by New Enterprise Associates and Y Combinator. Aurelian is growing rapidly; we are hiring people who want to help scale this work and make a real difference in public safety infrastructure for communities across the country. WHY JOIN US We're hiring a Senior Product Engineer to own product outcomes end-to-end. We don't have product managers at Aurelian — our engineers talk to customers, decide what to build, and ship it. This role is for someone who is as excited about why we're building something as how. You'll write code every week, but the thing that makes you exceptional is your ability to deeply understand a problem, make smart product decisions, and own the outcome. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING * Own product outcomes, not just features: You won't be handed a spec. You'll talk to customers, identify the highest-leverage problems, figure out what to build, and build it. * Be the PM for your area: You'll define the roadmap, make prioritization tradeoffs, and communicate progress across the company. * Ship fast and iterate: Build and ship features across our platform — from AI call handling, to dispatcher-facing tools, to analytics and integrations. Get things into customers' hands, learn, and iterate. * Work directly with customers: Our users are 9-1-1 dispatchers and PSAP administrators. You'll visit dispatch centers, watch how they use the product, and use that context to drive what you build next. WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR * Product thinker first, engineer second: You've owned products or features end-to-end — not just built what someone else decided. You think in terms of user problems and outcomes, not just technical solutions. * Comfortable across the stack: 4+ years of software engineering experience. You can build what needs building — frontend, backend, or both. You don't need to be the deepest technical expert on the team, but you're a capable, confident engineer. * High ownership: You see a problem, figure out the right thing to build, and drive it to completion. You take responsibility for outcomes, not just your code. * Customer empathy: You genuinely like understanding how people use software. You're energized by customer conversations, not drained by them. To learn more about what it's like to work at Aurelian, visit our About Us page and follow us on LinkedIn to stay up to date! We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every qualification listed above. We believe exceptional people come from many different backgrounds, and we’d rather connect with you than miss the opportunity. Come do the best work of your life and join us in shaping the future of critical technology that truly matters. FOR FULL-TIME ROLES, AURELIAN OFFERS A VARIETY OF BENEFITS, INCLUDING: * Comprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision & Life insurance * 401(k) * Unlimited PTO * Company-wide offsites * Equipment stipend * Relocation assistance * Daily delivered lunches (on us) * Office in Seattle * Start-up Equity
OVERVIEW The way companies innovate is broken. The systems built to create and protect ideas can’t keep up with the pace of change. Today, 90% of S&P 500 company value is intangible (e.g., in intellectual property) - yet R&D and IP teams spend half their time buried in manual work, sifting through patents and paperwork instead of pushing the frontier forward. The tools of creating and protecting are stuck in the past. We’re here to fix that. Ankar is building the R&D tools for the AI era and defining what applied research will look like in the next 20 years. We’re building infrastructure and product experiences our customers rely on every day. You’ll translate messy, ambiguous problems into clean, dependable software—and you’ll do it at the cutting-edge of AI. We’re at an inflection point: * We’ve raised >$24M to date from Tier-1 VCs like Atomico, Index Ventures, Norrsken, Daphni, and angels like the Founder of Hugging Face, CEO from Datadog, and Leaders from DeepMind and OpenAI. * We’re already working with the world’s most innovative companies including Fortune 500 company L’Oréal and global law firm Vorys * Expanding our world-class team with alumni from Palantir, Amazon, and BCG to tackle the $1T+ innovation market. We’re just getting started. What you’ll do: * Build world-class product. Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable systems and user-facing product experiences that customers depend on. * Ship fast and iterate constantly. Deliver quickly, learn from real feedback, and refine the product week by week with direct access to customers. * Own end-to-end execution. Take full ownership of projects across frontend, backend, and deployment—from design to implementation to monitoring and maintenance. * Partner deeply with teammates and customers. Collaborate closely with product, design, and customer-facing teams and customers themselves to ensure what we build is useful, usable, and impactful. Culture at Ankar: Culture at Ankar is how we think, build, and operate. We’re building a generational company that redefines how the world’s best R&D teams create and protect ideas. * Contrarian - we think from first principles: We think deeply, question assumptions, and build from first principles. The best ideas come from clarity and rigour. * Creative - we build with taste: We’re building the R&D tools for the AI era and shaping what applied research looks like over the next 20 years. We care about precision, quality, and systems that last. * Competitive - we play to win: We move with urgency and set a very high bar for ourselves and each other. Every win raises the bar. Every challenge sharpens us. This role is not for you if... * You need a highly structured environment, a predefined playbook, regular working hours, or a schedule that never requires travel. We operate with high autonomy and ownership, expect our team to go above and beyond, be obsessed with our mission and thrive in ambiguity rather than wait for direction. * You prefer long planning cycles and certainty before acting. We move quickly, ship often, and adapt based on customer feedback and new information. * You want to manage the work rather than do the work. We're builders first, and everyone is expected to contribute directly to creating exceptional products. * You take it personally when ideas are challenged, priorities shift, or work gets redirected. We care more about finding the right answer than defending a particular one. What we put behind our people Building at the frontier takes exceptional people. We invest accordingly. * Health Insurance : Full private health & dental coverage for you and your dependents. * Pension: Flexible pension scheme with up to 5% employer matching on qualifying earnings. * Food on us: Team lunches twice a week, plus dinner when working late in the office. * Cycle to work: Green Commute initiative scheme (up to £3k) to help you get a new bike tax-free. * Way we work: We combine deep, in-person collaboration (minimum 3 days/week in our Shoreditch office) with flexibility and trust. What matters is ownership, impact, and results, not where you work from. * Visa sponsorship: Yes Compensation We believe exceptional people should be compensated accordingly. £160,000–£300,000 including equity (depending on experience)
