The Product Foundations team within Coinbase's Platform product group builds the systems that protect Coinbase, our customers, and the broader crypto ecosystem, powering identity verification, money movement, and regulatory compliance across every jurisdiction. As the Group Product Manager for Compliance Automation, you'll lead the product vision and multi-year strategy for the AI/ML-powered systems that automate Coinbase's regulatory obligations, including sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity detection, and risk-based compliance workflows. Compliance operations represent one of Coinbase's largest investments, and you'll own the strategy to strengthen and scale those capabilities through intelligent automation, reducing cost and regulatory risk while enabling the company to operate and grow globally. What you'll do: * Own the product vision and multi-year roadmap for Coinbase's Compliance Automation platform, covering sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity detection, and risk-based compliance workflows. * Lead a team of PMs to define, prioritize, and deliver AI/ML-powered capabilities that reduce manual compliance effort, increase detection accuracy, and scale compliance operations across jurisdictions. * Drive significant cost optimization by identifying and executing automation opportunities across one of Coinbase's largest operational cost centers, without increasing regulatory risk. * Partner with Compliance, Legal, Trust & Risk, Engineering, and Data Science to ensure automation systems meet regulatory requirements while enabling product velocity. * Shape the integration of emerging AI/ML technologies to strengthen compliance detection, reduce false positive rates, and accelerate case resolution. * Build and maintain relationships with regulatory and compliance stakeholders, translating evolving regulatory requirements into actionable product capabilities. Required Skills and Experience: * 10+ years of product management experience, with significant experience in AI/ML-powered automation, compliance technology, or operational automation at scale. * Experience leading large, complex cross-functional programs with multiple workstreams, including managing managers or leading PM teams. * Demonstrated ability to partner with ML engineers on agentic AI architectures and translate technical capabilities into compliance product strategy. * Proven track record with regulatory compliance frameworks (sanctions, transaction monitoring, AML/BSA) and navigating compliance approval processes. * Experience driving executive-level alignment and communicating investment tradeoffs to senior leadership (VP+, ET) with clarity and precision. * Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.   Pay Transparency Notice: Base salary varies by location (see range below). The Payments Core team within Coinbase's Platform product group owns the heart of how fiat money moves at Coinbase, processing hundreds of billions of dollars annually across 15+ payment methods in 30+ countries. As the Group Product Manager for Payments Core, you'll own the product vision and multi-year strategy for Coinbase's payment processing infrastructure, driving processing optimization, cost efficiency, and global expansion. This is a high-impact IC leadership role for a seasoned payments expert. What you'll do: * Own the end-to-end product roadmap for Payments Core, encompassing core payment processing, payment method integrations (ACH, cards, bank transfers), multi-partner infrastructure, and payment lifecycle management. * Drive optimization of payment processing success rates, least-cost routing, and transaction efficiency to directly improve Coinbase's revenue and customer experience across its global footprint. * Lead the strategy and execution for multi-partner payments infrastructure, enabling processing partner routing, redundancy, and failover to maximize reliability and cost efficiency. * Partner with Engineering to shape system architecture and technical investments that drive scalability, resilience, and adaptability across Payments Core's platform. * Build self-serve capabilities that enable Product Groups to leverage Payments Core without heavy integration overhead, unblocking growth across Coinbase's product surface. * Shape Payments Core's long-term strategy for emerging payment methods, real-time payment networks, and evolving regulatory landscapes. Required Skills and Experience: * 10+ years of product management experience, with deep expertise in payments infrastructure, payment processing, or fintech platforms. * Track record of owning and driving multi-year platform strategies that delivered measurable improvements in processing success rates, cost efficiency, or global payment coverage. * Deep technical fluency in payment systems architecture, processing flows, multi-partner routing, payment method economics, interchange optimization, and the regulatory landscape for payments across major markets. * Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives in highly regulated environments, driving alignment across engineering, finance, compliance, and business stakeholders, and articulating platform strategy and investment tradeoffs to executive leadership. * Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.   Pay Transparency Notice: Base salary varies by location (see range below).
