[https://moniepoint.com/blog] What You'll Be Doing * Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, and QA) to conceptualize, design, and deliver high-impact features. * Architect and build scalable, high-performance backend services using Java and Spring Boot. * Produce clean, maintainable, and well-documented code with a strong emphasis on reliability and testability. * Seamlessly integrate third-party services and APIs, ensuring robust error handling and graceful degradation. * Continuously enhance system performance and developer experience through thoughtful automation and refactoring. * Diagnose and resolve complex issues across the stack while proactively identifying opportunities for technical improvements. * Actively contribute to code reviews and architecture discussions, promoting engineering best practices across the team. * Maintain clear documentation of technical decisions, systems, and processes to support transparency and long-term scalability. What We're Looking For * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. * 5+ years of hands-on professional experience in software engineering, with a strong emphasis on backend development. * Deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot, with a solid grasp of modern backend architecture and engineering best practices. * Proven experience designing, building, and scaling web services, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems. * Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines. * Strong proficiency with relational databases and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate). * Exposure to frontend technologies such as AngularJS or React is a plus. * Excellent debugging and troubleshooting abilities, with a structured approach to problem-solving. * Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset. Flow Traders is looking for a new Senior Operations Specialist to join our Operations department. This is a unique opportunity to join a leading proprietary trading firm with an entrepreneurial and innovative culture at the heart of its business.   You will join the Flow Traders EMEA Operations team based in our Amsterdam office. We have an expanding product universe, covering all major asset classes. Our team covers a multitude of areas and follows the full trade lifecycle. As such, the opportunities to learn and grow are limitless within the organization. For this role, we are looking for candidates with 5+ years of relevant experience in Operations, Middle Office, or a related field, combined with good analytical and programing skills, as well as a a strong desire to continue learning and developing within this space. If you are interested in the role and believe your experience aligns, we encourage you to apply and include a short explanation of your motivation to join Flow Traders.     What you'll do * Reconcile trades and positions intraday and next day, across multiple asset classes * Calculate daily P&L and cash - own the numbers, find the breaks, explain them * Know the full trade lifecycle cold: execution, settlement, fees, interest bookings * Dig into large datasets to find what's wrong and fix how the process works * Work directly with Prime Brokers, trading desks, risk, compliance, and finance * Automate the manual stuff - write the script, don't just flag the problem What you need * 5+ years in trading operations, middle office, or financial services * A degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or something similarly quantitative * Python and SQL are hard requirements - you write code, not just read it * Sharp attention to detail and a genuine appetite for getting into the weeds * Prior exposure to trading, front office, or technology teams is a plus * Comfortable handling large, messy datasets and knowing when the numbers don't add up * You reach for a script before you reach for a spreadsheet   Flow Traders does not accept unsolicited resumes from any professional staffing or search firms.
