sustainable use of water resources. Currently, we are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the group under the HARMONY

project. Job Duties T he job duties will be the following : Develop, characterise, test and validate biosensors based on cell

receptors for marine biotoxins. Produce and/or isolate c ell receptors , purif y and characteris e . Integrate cell receptors in

microfluidic devices. Optimise and full characteri se biosensor performance (e.g. , LOD, LOQ, dynamic range, matrix effect).

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams with expertise in biosensors, marine biotoxins, microsystems and microfabrication

technology, surface chemistry, and microfluidics. Produce several technical and scientific documentation as well as day-to-day

management of work planning. Write or help writing original research publications and reports. Mandatory Qualifications Education

PhD in Biology, Biochemistry or similar fields. Experience and Technical Skills Experience in Escherichia coli (and others) gene

edition through plasmid or expression vector for protein production. Experience in the isolation and characteri s ation of

proteins and cell receptors, both isolated and integrated in membranes (e.g. , extracellular vesicles). Experience in the

development of biosensors ( i.e., electrochemical and/or optical) using cell receptors, enzymes and other bioligands. Experience

About the position We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in Bioinformatics and Comparative Immunology, available at the Department of Biosciences. Project description The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary research group led by Professors Finn-Eirik Johansen (Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences) and Shuo-Wang Qiao (Institute of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine). The group’s main research focus is the unique immune system of the Atlantic cod, which is characterized by the evolutionary loss of MHC class II molecules and CD4 T cells — components that are essential for immunocompetence in other vertebrates, including humans. We combine classical molecular biology and experimental immunology with cutting-edge technologies, including modern high-throughput sequencing and bioinformatics. The project investigates the transcriptional profiles of Atlantic cod immune cells at the single-cell level and maps the immune receptor repertoires of cod B and T cells during homeostasis and in response to microbes, microbial products and vaccines. The main purpose of a postdoctoral fellowship is to provide the candidates with enhanced skills to pursue a scientific top position within or beyond academia. To promote a strategic career path, all postdoctoral research fellows are required to submit a professional development plan no later than one month after commencement of the postdoctoral period. What skills are important in this role? The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has a strategic ambition to be among Europe’s leading communities for research, education and innovation. Vill du bidra till medicinsk forskning av toppkvalitet? Institutionen för medicinsk epidemiologi och biostatistik bedriver forskning inom epidemiologi inom ett brett spektrum av områden. Institutionen är bland de största i Europa inom sitt fält och är särskilt stark inom bl.a. gastroenterologi, psykiatri, cancer, och biostatistik. En del av framgången för institutionen beror på vår samarbetsanda, där en bidragande faktor är att forskare vid institutionen delar och samfinansierar gemensamma resurser (som t.ex. IT och en tillämpad biostatistikgrupp). Institutionen ligger på campus Solna: http://ki.se/meb. Vår forskargrupp söker nu en postdoktor (”postdoc”) som vill förstå och förebygga leversjukdomar. Vår grupp består av epidemiologer, kliniker och databasadministratörer med medlemmar från Sverige, Schweiz, Kina och USA. Sverige är känt för sina nationella hälsoregister.
