Join our team to help shape the future of global collaboration. At Workwize, your work will make a real impact in building smarter, more connected workplaces worldwide. LinkedIn has also recognized Workwize as one of the Top 10 Startups for 2025 in the Netherlands! About the Role Workwize is scaling fast, and our legal function is scaling with it. You will work directly with our General Counsel on one clear mission: building a modern, efficient legal department that accelerates the business instead of slowing it down. This is a hands-on building internship, not a research internship. You will get two big, concrete projects to own. The first is creating our internal filing system and corporate governance structure: as an international organisation, our corporate governance and legal compliance have to stand like a house as we grow, and you will be the one organising it and making it happen. The second is setting up our legal ticketing process and smarter ways of working. Alongside these, you will help sharpen our contract playbooks and put AI to work for Legal. Good to know: this role operates at the level of legal operations and strategy, not deep academic legal research. You don't need to be a specialist in any area of law. What matters is that you understand how legal works in an international business context and can turn that into structure, process, and tooling. We are looking for someone who is analytically strong, but above all practical: a doer with a real sense for technology and AI, who knows how to use modern tools to actually build these systems, not just describe them. What you'll do 🗂️ Build our CSM & corporate governance structure (project 1) * Design a logical, well-structured filing system for all legal and financial documentation, organised consistently and able to withstand any audit with ease. * Roll it out across the organisation and make sure it is actually implemented and maintained, not just designed on paper. * Make it the backbone of our compliance: with a solid structure in place, audits, due diligence, and entity management become routine instead of fire drills. 🏛️ Set up proper corporate governance (part of project 1) * Help set up and maintain proper corporate governance across our international entities: entity records, registers, board and shareholder resolutions, and intercompany documentation. * Bring structure to our corporate housekeeping so every entity is complete, current, and audit-ready at all times. * Help define who decides what: clear governance processes that keep pace with an international organisation as it grows. ⚖️ Set up legal ticketing & smarter ways of working (project 2) * Build our legal ticketing and intake process from scratch: nothing is in place yet, so you get to select the right setup and make it work. * Design it so Legal can prioritize topics properly and the business always knows the status of their request. * Keep it light: it must never become an administrative hurdle or an extra loop. Commercial contracts need to close fast, so submitting a request should take seconds, not minutes. * Spot repetitive legal work and automate or streamline it. 📚 Sharpen our playbooks & knowledge base * Help optimize our contract playbooks, negotiation guidance, and templates. * Turn legal analysis into practical guidance that commercial teams can actually use. 🤖 Put AI to work for Legal * Use AI and modern tooling as your default way of building: automating workflows, structuring knowledge, and making our legal content AI-ready. * Identify new opportunities where technology can take work off Legal's plate. One guiding principle runs through everything: the right balance between effective risk management and practical usability for the business. What we're looking for Must-haves * Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, International Business Law, International Business, or another program with a strong legal component. * Analytically strong, but above all practical: you get things done and like seeing tangible results. * A genuine feel for technology and AI: you actively use modern tools (AI assistants, Notion, automation) and enjoy figuring out how to build with them. * Highly organized and structured; you bring order to chaos. * Curious and confident enough to challenge existing processes and suggest improvements. * Able to balance legal risk with commercial practicality. * Excellent written and verbal English. * Available for a full-time internship for 6 months. Nice-to-haves * Hands-on experience working with Claude or similar AI assistants is a real advantage: we build with AI daily. * Hands-on experience with Notion, Slack, HubSpot, workflow automation, or contract lifecycle management tools. * Prior exposure to commercial contracting, SaaS, privacy/GDPR, or corporate housekeeping. * Experience in a startup, scale-up, or fast-paced commercial environment. Characteristics * You are a builder: you enjoy creating structure where none exists yet. * You are practical first: shipping a working solution beats writing the perfect memo. * You are proactive and resourceful; you don't wait to be told what to do. * You think in systems and processes, not just individual tasks. * You take ownership, follow through, and care about the quality of your work. Workwize offers * A meaningful internship at one of the Top 10 Startups in the Netherlands (LinkedIn, 2025). * Direct mentorship from our General Counsel with real responsibility from day one. * Hands-on experience building a modern, tech-enabled in-house legal function. * A position in a fast-growing, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment. * Flexibility to work in a hybrid environment, balancing office and home settings. * Enjoy daily lunch provided at the office, weekly team lunches, and monthly surprise events. * A beautiful office in the heart of Amsterdam. Ready to apply? Does this sound like you? We'd love to hear from you. Our Team Becoming part of Workwize means making an impact. Your impact: streamline legal support workflows, improve documentation reliability, and make key legal topics easier to understand across the company (contracts, privacy, compliance). What you’ll do day-to-day: 1. Legal Operations & Knowledge Management (core mission) You will help structure and improve the Legal Department’s ways of working and interacting with the other teams, including: * Identifying and implementing high-impact AI use cases for legal ops and contract work, with a strong focus on responsible and secure usage, such as improving operational workflows (request triage…). * Contributing to legal knowledge management to explain key concepts and help the other teams meeting their objectives (training materials, user-friendly guides…). 2.
