Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run. The heart of a spacecraft lies in its propulsion system, and that's why we, at The Exploration Company, are dedicated to developing our own cutting-edge Propulsion Systems ensuring the highest level of efficiency and reliability in our space endeavors. We want you to support us in the development of simulation models to predict the behavior of the pressurization and feed system of the propulsion system. The models are crucial for predicting the behavior of test benches and more importantly the flight vehicle behavior. You will be embedded in the simulation team who are also a crucial part of the testing team as they support in data analysis and test predictions Activities: * Anchoring of the development models of the Propulsion System of our Nyx Earth propulsion system * Implementing automated post processing scripts of simulation results. * Development of automated optimization algorithms to allow for rapid regression of simulation results against experimental test data. * Support the post-processing strategy for experimental results for use in validation of simulation models. * Act as auxiliary support to test campaigns when needed. Competencies: * Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and the development of fluid flow systems. * Understanding of general model anchoring. * Understanding of optimization strategies for model anchoring. * Competency with data management in python using standard python libraries such as NumPy/Pandas Desirables: * Experience in the development of models in Ecosim. * Hands-on experience on development of fluidic test benches. You work end-to-end and have touchpoints across every department at Tacto, so you can expect to: * Be the Builder – Assume responsibility on high-impact end-to-end strategic projects (zero-to-one from thesis building to operation) * Refine our GTM strategy – analyze early traction data, define hypotheses, and test cases to scale the motion * Support the executive team – prepare C-level meetings with our most important customers and partners * Conduct market and competitive analysis – identify next growth opportunities WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * Currently pursuing or already completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree at a top-tier university with excellent grades * First professional experience in management consulting, investment banking, venture capital or business development * You have a natural curiosity and are eager to dive deep into our processes and understand the complexities of our work and our customers * You are excited about AI and ideally have built something yourself * You are a strong communicator and have excellent written and personal communication skills in German and English WHERE OUR PREVIOUS INTERNS WORK NOW After Tacto, over 10 former interns have founded their own companies, with e.g. 3 already going through Y Combinator.
