YOUR MISSION * You are part of our dedicated Platform team, building and operating the foundation that every product team at casavi builds on. * With the team, you own and evolve our platform: from core product features every team builds on, like Auth, I18n, Feature Flags, and so on, to infrastructure, with our AWS setup, Kubernetes clusters, GitOps workflows, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), working with Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD, and GitLab CI/CD, while monitoring system health with Prometheus & Grafana. * Your main personal focus is Application Security: making sure our product stays robust and reliable in the face of modern growing security threats, via comprehensive automated quality gates, regular security testing being done as a practice, strong security standards embedded in the SDLC of our teams, and appropriate instrumentation of the AI Coding Assistant tooling our team is using. * You also bake security into our infrastructure, implementing automated vulnerability scanning, secure secrets management, and Policy-as-Code guardrails so that shipping securely is always the path of least resistance. * You harden our cloud environments, ensuring robust IAM configurations, network policies, and foundational security baselines are continuously enforced. * You collaborate closely with fellow engineers across the Platform team and with product teams, bringing your ideas to make our platform more reliable, scalable, and easy to build on. YOUR PROFILE * You have several years of experience working with TypeScript (our tech stack includes Node.js, REST API, MySQL, MongoDB, Nest.js, React) and, ideally, also Python (our Python stack: Flask, FastAPI, MongoDB). * You care about Application Security deeply and have a proven track record of establishing secure SDLC in software engineering teams. * You have proven hands-on experience running production Kubernetes clusters and managing cloud infrastructure. You know AWS, Terraform, Helm, GitOps (ideally ArgoCD), and CI/CD pipelines (ideally GitLab CI). * You understand cloud-native security principles and have experience securing pipelines, container images, and infrastructure (e.g., using AWS Secrets Manager, Vault, Trivy, Snyk, or similar tooling). * You are a power user of AI-based tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, etc.), and you know how to use them to build lightweight internal tooling and automation safely and responsibly. * You'd rather script and orchestrate an agentic workflow than stand up a heavyweight developer portal. * You have excellent analytical & problem-solving skills and enjoy owning problems end-to-end, from root cause to fix. * Ideally, you have strong experience with observability tooling (Prometheus/Grafana) and monitoring production systems. * You are a strong communicator, and your English is at a very good level (>C1). * You live in Germany. CONDITIONS & BENEFITS * An open-minded and friendly team working with agile methods - as proven by our Kununu Score of 4,6 * Flexible & hybrid working * 40 days of workation per year in the EU * Company events & sports offers * Corporate benefits * Company pension scheme * Childcare allowance * EGYM Wellpass membership discount * Diverse development opportunities and a continuing education budget YOU WANT TO BE PART OF OUR SUCCESS STORY? At praxipal, we are building an AI-powered healthcare admin workforce to address the global shortage of medical staff. Medical assistants are too valuable to spend their days chasing callbacks, cleaning up schedules, sending repetitive messages, or wrestling with invoicing and documentation workflows. Staff should spend time on patients. That’s why we build Luna. Our AI receptionist, Luna, answers and automates phone calls and she’s loved by hundreds of medical practitioners. Right now, we’re expanding her from calls to end-to-end patient communication across any channel. Over the next years, we’ll grow her into an AI worker that automates all administrative processes in medical practices, embedded directly into the systems practice teams already use. We’re backed by one of Europe’s leading investors and are one of the fastest growing healthtech startups in Germany. Our team has previously worked and studied at Palantir, Amazon, SAP, the University of Cambridge, and Hasso Plattner Institute. We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help us scale Luna from hundreds of medical practitioners to hundreds of thousands. THE ROLE This is a deeply technical, high-ownership engineering role. You'll design, build, and operate production systems end-to-end - from architecture through to deployment and beyond. We move fast and learn faster. One week you might be shipping a new AI agent capability; the next, you're re-architecting an integration layer or hardening our platform for the next order-of-magnitude growth. You'll always be working on whatever matters most for Luna's future. You'll ship to production daily, own outcomes from first commit to last alert, and raise the technical bar for the entire engineering organization. This role is on-site in Berlin. WHAT YOU'LL DO SHAPE THE PRODUCT THAT TRANSFORMS EUROPE’S HEALTHCARE OPERATIONS * Design and ship AI-powered workflow automations that give medical staff hours back every day * Build intelligent agents that turn Luna from an AI receptionist into a full AI-based employee for medical practices * Engineer deep, reliable integrations into practice management systems - unlocking capabilities no competitor can match ARCHITECT A PLATFORM BUILT FOR MASSIVE SCALE * Design infrastructure on AWS and GCP that can serve hundreds of thousands of practices with high availability and low latency * Own the full reliability lifecycle: observability, alerting, incident response, and postmortems that eliminate entire failure classes * Build CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling that make shipping fast, safe, and repeatable MULTIPLY THE TEAM'S VELOCITY AND IMPACT * Create reusable patterns, internal tooling, and integration test suites that let us onboard new services and practices at scale * Champion engineering excellence through better abstractions, cleaner code, and well-written runbooks WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR MUST-HAVE * You've shipped and operated real products used by real customers, and you know what it takes to keep them running * You communicate with clarity and collaborate naturally in high-tempo, low-hierarchy teams * You architect and build production-grade software with confidence - from system design to shipping and operating at scale * You have several years of experience in startups * You’re excited to work on-site in Berlin in a fast-moving environment in build-mode NICE-TO-HAVE * Experience with TypeScript, Python, or Rust * Hands-on experience building AI agents or LLM-powered products * Proficiency with Kubernetes, AWS/GCP, CI/CD systems, or infrastructure-as-code * Track record of building complex third-party integrations * Exposure to healthcare workflows or regulated environments LOCATION & COMPENSATION * Location: Berlin (100% on-site) * Competitive compensation: €100,000–€130,000 total compensation (cash + equity) * Office perks: A beautiful workspace in Berlin Mitte, complete with a ping pong table, PlayStation, and VR setup * Team bonding: Regular get-togethers, happy hours and offsites * Health and productivity: Free dinners, subsidized lunches and sponsored Urban Sports Club subscription * Mobility: Deutschland-Ticket Jobticket If you want to shape the next generation of healthcare software with us, apply now.
