#PoweredByPossibility We are hiring an: Interim Senior General Finance Specialist Location: Guanzate (Hybrid) About the Role This is a 12-month interim position supporting Watlow's Italian finance operations. This is not a maintenance role. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and bringing structure in a dynamic environment. You will work hands-on across a broad range of finance activities, helping to stabilize and improve finance operations while supporting local compliance requirements and Oracle ERP processes. Working closely with our Shared Service Center (SSC), you will act as a key link between local teams, SSC, and corporate functions, ensuring issues are resolved, processes are improved, and responsibilities are clearly defined. What You'll Do * Support and stabilize day-to-day finance operations across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and local compliance activities * Act as the key local finance contact for topics requiring coordination between the business, Shared Service Center (SSC), and corporate functions * Investigate and resolve operational issues related to Oracle ERP, e-invoicing, VAT processing, finance master data, and transactional processes * Review finance processes, identify root causes of recurring issues, and drive practical solutions across functions * Support Italian compliance requirements including VAT, F24, ENASARCO, Declarations of Intent, statutory reporting, and audit activities * Assist with month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and finance process controls * Provide hands-on support where required while helping establish sustainable processes and clear ownership What You'll Need to Succeed * Solid experience in operational Finance or Accounting in Italy * Good understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, VAT, and statutory reporting processes * Experience with Oracle or a comparable ERP system * Familiarity with Italian compliance requirements, including F24, ENASARCO, VAT, and statutory obligations * Experience working with Shared Service Centers and cross-functional stakeholders * Strong problem-solving mindset — you fix issues, not just report them * Fluent in English and Italian * Comfortable working autonomously in a hands-on, fast-paced, and evolving environment Why Join Watlow's Team Our Guanzate site is part of a global network, giving you the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across Europe and beyond. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support entity-level accounting for Toast's India operations. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely month-end close, and compliance with local statutory requirements. Working closely with the Accounting Manager and global finance teams, you will assist with general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory reporting, audits, and continuous process improvements in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. A day in the life (Responsibilities) * Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for Toast's India entities by preparing journal entries and ensuring timely completion of close activities. * Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, employee-related accounts, and intercompany balances. * Perform detailed variance analysis and investigate unusual account movements to ensure accuracy and completeness. * Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules in compliance with Ind AS, local statutory requirements, and Toast accounting policies. * Support statutory audits, tax audits, and regulatory filings by preparing audit schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests. * Partner with Payroll, Tax, FP&A, Legal, and Global Accounting teams to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of business transactions. * Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation in accordance with internal control requirements. * Assist with SOX compliance activities, including control documentation, testing support, and remediation efforts. * Support fixed asset accounting, intercompany accounting, and other entity-level accounting activities as required. * Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency through automation and standardization. * Participate in finance transformation initiatives, system implementations, and other ad hoc projects. What you'll need to thrive (Requirements) * Master's degree in Commerce (M.Com) or CA Intermediate. * 1 to 2 years of experience in financial accounting, general ledger accounting, or record-to-report (R2R) functions. * Good understanding of accounting principles, Ind AS, and Indian statutory compliance requirements. * Experience supporting month-end close and preparing balance sheet reconciliations. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP is preferred. * Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. * Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn new processes and systems. * This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week in the Chennai office. What will help you stand out (Nice to have) * Experience working in a multinational company or shared services environment. * Exposure to SOX controls and internal control frameworks. * Experience supporting statutory audits and financial reporting. * Knowledge of intercompany accounting and fixed asset accounting. * Experience using BlackLine or other reconciliation/workflow tools.
