iOS Engineer

We’re looking for an experienced iOS Engineer to join a team working on system-level components, background services, and platform logic within iOS. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys understanding how things work under the hood, building reliable low-level functionality, and contributing to software that runs seamlessly on millions of devices worldwide. What you’ll do Design and build system services and daemons that operate reliably over long runtimes. Work close to the OS layer, contributing to performance, stability, and platform integrity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evolve internal frameworks and APIs. Investigate and resolve complex issues related to threads, concurrency, and system behavior. What we’re looking for Problem-solving clarity - Ability to explain your thinking, ask clarifying questions, and iterate from simple to optimized Technical fundamentals - Can reason about complexity, understand practical trade-offs, and write clean code Communication - Easy to talk to, take feedback without defensiveness, and discuss assumptions explicitly Genuine enthusiasm - Show real interest in hard problems, not just getting a job Learning agility - Willing to pick up new technology, work with legacy code, and adapt quickly Must have 6+ years of experience in iOS development (Swift, Objective-C). Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals — algorithms, data structures, and architecture. Ideally M.Sc. Computer Science. Strong knowledge of threads, concurrency, and asynchronous programming (async/await, GCD, etc.). Proven ability to write robust, fault-tolerant, and efficient code for background or long-running processes. Clear communication skills and fluent English; Swedish is considered meritorious. Nice to have Experience developing system services, frameworks, or daemons on iOS or macOS. Knowledge of security, privacy, encryption, or communication protocols. Experience with complex or distributed systems. Familiarity with Bluetooth or other low-level communication layers. Your role We're looking for a Mobile Solution Architect to help design and deliver secure, scalable, and future-ready mobile applications. We welcome candidates with deep expertise in either iOS or Android development, combined with a strong understanding of modern mobile architecture. Experience across both platforms is a strong advantage. In this role you will play a key role in: Define and drive the mobile architecture strategy and technical direction across iOS and Android platforms. Design scalable, secure, and maintainable mobile solutions, ensuring alignment with architecture standards and best practices. Lead technical discussions, solution reviews, and integration design between mobile applications and backend services. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, UX, Engineering, Security, and Operations to deliver high-quality solutions. Support and mentor development teams while promoting modern engineering practices such as automation, testing, CI/CD, and DevSecOps. Your profile Extensive experience in mobile application development, combined with a strong background in solution architecture and technical leadership. Deep expertise in either iOS (Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit) or Android (Kotlin, Java), along with a strong understanding of modern mobile architecture patterns and best practices. Experience building secure, scalable, and high-performing mobile applications, including API integrations, testing, CI/CD, and release management. A collaborative mindset with the ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly and work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with Agile ways of working, DevSecOps practices, and modern cloud and engineering tools. Experience with AWS, Kafka, observability, or AI-assisted development is a plus.
