Our Government practice is looking for a Consultant or Senior Consultant to join our growing AI team, working across government departments and public sector organisations - with Health as one of our core areas of focus. We are looking for curious, proactive individuals who are passionate about practical, real-world AI adoption. You won't just talk about AI transformation in the abstract; you will help clients explore how AI can be applied to real operational challenges, support the development of AI-enabled services and processes, and contribute to meaningful change across the public sector. Working alongside experienced colleagues and client teams, you will help bridge the gap between what AI can do and what can be successfully implemented in complex public sector environments. Through analysis, stakeholder engagement, workshops and practical demonstrations, you will help make AI transformation tangible, accessible and valuable for our clients. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING * Process Reimagination: Support clients in exploring how services, processes and ways of working could evolve in an AI-enabled environment, helping them move beyond traditional approaches and identify practical improvements. * AI Opportunity Identification: Work with client teams to identify opportunities where AI can improve outcomes, efficiency and service delivery, helping assess feasibility, risks and potential value. * Demo-Led Engagement: Use hands-on demonstrations, workshops and practical examples to help stakeholders understand AI capabilities and limitations, building confidence through tangible proof points rather than theory. * Research & Insight Development: Maintain awareness of developments across GenAI tools, AI-enabled services and public sector adoption trends, translating emerging capabilities into practical insights for clients and engagement teams. * Client Delivery: Take ownership of high-quality deliverables including assessments, adoption roadmaps, operating model recommendations, governance frameworks, workshop outputs and transformation plans. * Stakeholder Engagement: Build trusted relationships with clients, colleagues and third parties, supporting workshops, interviews and working sessions that help shape AI-enabled change. * Best Practice Development: Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Baringa's AI methodologies, playbooks, frameworks and reusable assets, helping strengthen our Government AI capability. * Business Development Support: Contribute to proposals, thought leadership, credential development and client opportunities, helping identify where AI capabilities can create additional value for clients. * Team Contribution: Actively participate in Baringa's internal AI initiatives, sharing knowledge and supporting capability development across the wider Government practice. YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE * Experience working within consulting, government, healthcare, local government or wider public sector environments, with exposure to transformation, digital, data or technology-enabled change. * Understanding of how government organisations operate, including the practical constraints associated with governance, information security, data privacy and operational delivery. * Strong interest in AI adoption and practical experience using leading AI ecosystems such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude or equivalent tools within day-to-day work. * Experience supporting organisations in the adoption of new technologies, digital tools, operating model changes or transformation initiatives. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure complex issues and develop practical recommendations. * Experience creating high-quality client-facing deliverables, presentations, reports and workshop materials. * Ability to build trusted relationships with client stakeholders and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams. * A proactive approach to learning, with curiosity about emerging AI developments and their practical application in public sector settings. * Commitment to the responsible use of AI, with an appreciation of governance, risk and ethical considerations associated with AI adoption. * A pragmatic mindset that focuses on creating measurable value and tangible outcomes rather than pursuing technology for its own sake.
