We are now looking for several AI Application Experts who want to contribute to the adoption and application of advanced AI methods across a wide range of domains, including technology and tools, data, life science, materials science, autonomous systems, training, and other emerging application areas.
These positions offer a unique opportunity to work with researchers, companies, public-sector organizations, and AI specialists within the EuroHPC AI Factory initiative and to help users transform ideas and data into impactful AI solutions.
The position
As an AI Application Expert, you will support users and projects in applying AI methods, tools, and workflows to real-world challenges. Depending on your background and interests, you may contribute within one or several application domains.
We welcome applicants with expertise in one or more of these domains. Candidates are not expected to cover all areas, and we encourage applications from specialists who can contribute strong expertise within their field.
The role combines hands-on technical work, user support, collaboration with domain experts, and participation in the development of AI services and best practices within MIMER and the wider European AI ecosystem.
Responsibilities
AI Application Support and Expertise
Support researchers, companies, and public-sector organizations in the adoption and use of AI technologies
Contribute expertise within one or more domains such as life science, materials science, autonomous systems, data science, AI tools, or training
Help identify suitable AI methods, workflows, and technologies for specific use cases
Project and User Engagement
Work directly with users to understand challenges and translate them into AI-enabled solutions
Provide guidance on data preparation, model development, evaluation, and deployment
Contribute to pilot projects, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept activities
Knowledge Sharing and Community Building
Develop documentation, tutorials, training material, and examples
Participate in workshops, training events, and outreach activities
Contribute to building a strong national and European AI community
Collaboration and Innovation
Collaborate with experts from academia, industry, and the public sector
Help identify new opportunities for AI adoption and innovation
Contribute to the continuous improvement of MIMER services and support offerings
The person we need
A Master's degree in AI, computer science, data science, engineering, life sciences, materials science, applied mathematics, or a related field
Practical experience with AI, machine learning, data analytics, or related computational methods
Ability to apply technical knowledge to real-world problems
Experience working in research, industry, public-sector organizations, or innovation projects
Interest in AI technologies and their practical application
Ability to work in interdisciplinary and collaborative environments
Strong communication skills and ability to engage with different stakeholder groups
Experience with modern AI methods such as generative AI, foundation models, or machine learning applications
Experience with HPC, cloud computing, data platforms, or scientific computing environments
Experience within one or more relevant domains such as life science, materials science, autonomous systems, public-sector AI, or industrial AI
Experience developing training materials, providing user support, or working in collaborative projects
Experience with European research infrastructures, EuroHPC, or international collaborations
Excellent Swedish language skills
The workplace
MIMER AI Factory is part of a European initiative to strengthen the development of trustworthy and competitive AI in research, industry, and the public sector. Through advanced supercomputing infrastructure, expert support, and international collaboration, we enable the development of AI solutions across research, industry, and public administration. The activities are carried out in close collaboration between Linköping University, NAISS, and RISE.
The employment
Fixed-term employment for 1 year, full-time, 100%.
Starting date as soon as possible or by agreement.
The employment entails 10 positions as Applikationsexpert.

The position As Team Lead for AI Technology & Tools, you will be responsible for leading the technical development within the team and contributing to the integration of MIMER’s AI platform into real-world use cases in industry and research. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on operational work and close dialogue with both internal experts and external partners. You will contribute to the development of MIMER’s cloud-native supercomputing environment and federated EuroHPC services, with a focus on robust and efficient AI workflows.
