As a Specialty Ortho Dental Assistant at Ideal Dental, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional care and support to both our patients and dental team. You’ll be empowered with the training, tools, and resources to advance your career while making a real difference in the lives of those you serve. What you'll do: * Advanced Clinical Assisting: Efficiently assist the specialist with complex procedures (e.g., surgeries, root canals, implant placement) by anticipating needs and passing specialized instruments. * Procedural Maintenance: Maintain a clean and clear operating field using suction, irrigation, and retraction techniques. * Specialized Setup: Prepare and mix specialty-specific materials, such as bone grafts, impression materials, and sealers. * Equipment Operation: Set up, operate, and troubleshoot equipment specific to the specialty (e.g., operating microscopes, 3D/CBCT scanners, ultrasonic units). * Sterilization & Infection Control: Ensure all specialized instruments are meticulously counted, cleaned, and sterilized according to strict regulatory standards. * Radiography: Take, process, and prepare high-quality, specialty-specific dental radiographs and images for the specialist's review. * Patient Education: Deliver detailed pre- and post-operative instructions tailored to the specialty procedure. * Patient Support: Prepare the patient for the procedure, provide comfort and support, and help manage anxiety. * Documentation: Accurately document all clinical findings, procedures, materials used, and patient information in the electronic health record (EHR). * Inventory Management: Track and manage the inventory of specialized supplies and materials to ensure the clinical area is always prepared. Responsibilities * Greeting guests with a smile. * Assisting Specialist with procedures. * Sterilizing instruments and setting up trays. * Preparing treatment rooms. * Performing X-rays. * Charting existing and recommended treatments. * Performing other duties as required to support the office and Specialty team. We're looking for a Part-Time traveling Orthodontic Dental Assistant, to provide coverage in Charlotte (Huntersville, Kannapolis, and Steele Creek) on Thursdays and 2 days a month in Winston-Salem. We’re looking for a highly organized, patient-centered Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our growing orthodontics team in a unique travelling role supporting multiple clinics alongside our Orthodontist Lead. What Makes This Opportunity Different? * A unique travelling role supporting multiple modern clinics across the GTA and Hamilton region * Direct collaboration with our Orthodontist Lead and growing orthodontic program * Exposure to a variety of teams, patient demographics, and clinic environments * Opportunities for professional growth within a fast-growing dental group * A supportive, collaborative culture focused on provider experience and patient care * Access to modern orthodontic technology and digital workflows What the Role Looks Like * Part-time opportunity * Travel required between Anytime Dental Group clinics across the GTA and Hamilton region * Days, evenings, and occasional weekends required What You’ll Be Doing Orthodontic Clinical Support * Assist the Orthodontist Lead during orthodontic procedures and patient appointments * Prepare treatment rooms and ensure instruments and materials are ready for procedures * Take orthodontic records including digital scans, radiographs, and clinical photographs * Assist with procedures including bonding, debonding, wire changes, aligner delivery, and appliance adjustments * Provide patients with education on oral hygiene, appliance care, aligner compliance, and post-treatment instructions * Ensure patient comfort and create a positive clinical experience throughout treatment Patient Coordination & Workflow Support * Support efficient patient flow and appointment scheduling across multiple clinics * Maintain accurate patient charts and treatment documentation * Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless orthodontic workflows * Assist with inventory management and organization of orthodontic supplies * Help maintain compliance with IPAC and sterilization protocols * Adapt quickly to different clinic environments and team dynamics What You Bring * Level II Dental Assistant Certification * Current HARP certification * Orthodontic assisting experience preferred * Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Experience with digital dental technology and practice management software * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail You’re Also Someone Who: * Enjoys working in a fast-paced, multi-clinic environment * Is adaptable, organized, and comfortable with changing schedules * Brings a polished, professional, and patient-first approach * Works well independently while collaborating across multiple teams * Is comfortable with digital workflows and orthodontic technology * Loves building relationships and creating a positive patient experience * Thrives in a collaborative and team-oriented environment Nice to Have * Previous orthodontic assisting experience * Experience with Invisalign or clear aligner workflows * Experience with iTero scanning and digital workflows * Knowledge of orthodontic software and digital charting systems * Experience supporting case presentations or treatment coordination conversations A Bit More About Us Anytime Dental Group is proud to be part of Passion Dental Group—a fast-growing network of dental clinics across Ontario built on the belief that great dentistry starts with great people.
