Your future role within QRT As a Senior Security Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in building, operating, uplifting, and evolving core security platforms and controls across hybrid, multicloud, and on-prem environments. You will act as a subject matter expert for key security solutions, ensuring security controls are observable, scalable, and well integrated across the wider technology ecosystem. You will actively partner with stakeholders, build strong relationships with engineering, infrastructure, and wider business teams, and collaborate across functions to help shape a modern, scalable security function from the ground up. Key Responsibilities * Perform the hands-on implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of core security platforms and key security controls, including responsibility for platform health, effectiveness, and ongoing evolution * Act as subject matter expert for assigned security solutions, championing their roadmap, integration, and operational performance * Support hands-on BAU operation of security products within a global, 24/7 follow-the-sun Security Operations model, including participation in rotational weekend coverage, in depth troubleshooting, and responding to security events that impact system availability, stability, or operational performance, acting as an escalation point for complex issues * Design and implement new security controls and technologies to strengthen the organisation’s cyber resilience * Drive security solution observability and monitoring, ensuring appropriate coverage, alerting, and operational visibility * Implement automated and scalable security solutions, processes, and controls across hybrid, multi cloud, and on prem environments to improve resilience and reduce manual effort * Oversee and support security changes in a controlled and well communicated manner * Build, maintain, and continuously improve operational runbooks, playbooks, and procedures to support reliable day to day operations * Partner with engineering, infrastructure, and wider business stakeholders to embed practical, scalable security controls that support fast moving delivery models * Contribute to the design, implementation, and enforcement of security policies, standards, and best practices * Position security as a business enabler by aligning controls with operational effectiveness and supporting innovation without compromising protection * Mentor and support other engineers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and practical leadership * To be considered a good cultural fit, you should have: * Humble, curious and hungry to learn * Flexible and reliable team player who enjoys working in a collaborative environment * Strong communication and interpersonal skills will be needed to collaborate with colleagues across the firm globally Your Present Skillset: * Minimum 10 years’ experience in a security engineering or closely related role * Strong hands-on experience operating and uplifting security technologies including firewalls, EDR, identity solutions, vulnerability management platforms, SASE, CASB, proxies, SIEM and security analytics, cloud security controls, and automation driven security platforms * Strong technical foundations across networking, operating systems, cloud platforms, and security engineering concepts * Solid understanding of major network protocols across multiple layers of the stack * Experience protecting and safeguarding data and assets at both the network and platform layers * Proven hands-on experience operating security controls and security operations capabilities in production environments * Ability to analyse network traffic and troubleshoot complex issues using tools such as tcpdump and Wireshark * Strong understanding of offensive security from an adversary perspective, including how attacks manifest and how controls fail in real world environments * Demonstrated ability to identify and respond to threats in distributed environments, particularly where system availability, stability, or operational performance is impacted * Programming or scripting skills in at least one high level language, with a strong focus on automation and operational efficiency * Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with a track record of driving complex issues through to resolution * Broad understanding of security principles and technologies spanning product and software security, cloud platforms, and business applications * Experience securing both Windows and Linux based systems * Extensive experience with one or more public cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Alibaba Cloud, particularly within hybrid environments * In-depth knowledge of threat modelling, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies for largescale, complex systems in fast paced environments * Experience with low latency or performance sensitive financial systems is an advantage QRT is an equal opportunity employer. This role will report directly to the Vice President, supporting the origination, underwriting, structuring, and asset management of structured credit transactions across the capital structure and risk spectrum. The team focuses on transitional and construction loans across residential property types, including, but not limited to, multifamily, condominium, single-family rental, build-to-rent, townhomes, and office-to-residential conversions, with individual loans typically ranging from $25 million to $100+ million. The successful candidate will be a primary contributor across the full deal lifecycle and must be comfortable operating across both analytical and operational workstreams. As this is an existing strategy within Man Group, the individual will have an opportunity to continue building an investment platform with the backing of a premier alternative investment management firm. As a member of the Man Group US Residential Debt team, this individual will also gain cross-platform exposure to the team’s other core investment strategies. Specific Responsibilities Underwriting & Investment Analysis * Underwrite potential loan originations, including detailed analysis of borrower/sponsor strength, business plan feasibility, capital structures, and exit strategies * Build and maintain detailed financial models incorporating cash flow analysis, draw schedule projections, sensitivity scenarios, and risk-adjusted return analysis * Prepare and present investment committee memoranda with clear articulation of deal thesis, key risks/mitigants, return profile, and relative value Sourcing & Origination Support * Assist in cultivating and maintaining relationships with borrowers, sponsors, brokers, co-lenders, attorneys, and other market participants * Participate in early-stage deal screening to identify and evaluate new investment opportunities consistent with the team's strategy * Contribute to market research and competitive landscape analysis to support sourcing and pricing decisions * Prepare and maintain weekly pipeline materials Due Diligence & Execution * Lead and coordinate due diligence workstreams including sponsor/borrower assessment, property-level collateral analysis, market analysis, and review of third-party reports * Assist in structuring and closing of investments, including term sheet preparation, legal documentation review, and commercial negotiation Asset Management * Develop a deep understanding of the exposures and associated risks across a portfolio of existing loans * Review and obtain approval for construction draw requests, coordinating with borrowers, third parties, and internal teams * Proactively monitor loan-level performance, including covenant compliance, business plan milestones, cash flow updates, valuation model updates, and monthly asset financial reporting * Identify and mitigate signs of credit deterioration and contribute to loss mitigation efforts where necessary Cross-Platform Collaboration In addition to the role’s primary focus, the candidate will be expected to work across the broader Residential Debt team, contributing to the other core investment strategies as needed: Lender Finance * Support underwriting and monitoring of lender finance facilities, including review of borrower/originator profiles, collateral eligibility criteria, and covenant compliance * Assist with borrowing base calculations, funding requests, and ongoing facility administration in coordination with counterparties and internal operations teams RTL Whole Loan Purchasing * Contribute to RTL underwriting workstreams, including collateral tape review, borrower and property-level analysis, and pricing support * Assist in evaluating credit performance across the RTL portfolio to inform ongoing acquisition and pricing decisions Capital Raising & Investor Relations * Support the team's capital raising efforts by helping prepare marketing materials, coordinate due diligence, and respond to investor requests and questionnaires * Assist in compiling and analyzing portfolio performance data for ongoing investor reporting and ad hoc investor inquiries * Develop a working familiarity with the team's fund structures and investor base to support relationship management effort Key Competencies * Bachelor's degree required, preferably in finance, real estate, economics, or a related field * 1 - 4 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate debt, preferably with direct exposure to transitional or construction lending on residential assets * Advanced proficiency in complex financial modeling and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) * Experience with commercial real estate underwriting and valuation is strongly preferred; familiarity with residential whole loans (RTL, DSCR) or lender finance is a plus * Proficiency with Python is a plus * Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex investment theses into clear, concise IC materials * Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment * Self-motivated, intellectually curious, collaborative, and comfortable working in a growing platform with a flat team structure The anticipated based salary range for this position is listed below. Compensation packages would also include benefits and a discretionary bonus. This is the base salary range that the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting based on the location and requirements of the position as well as the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant.
