You'll work with industry-standard tools, build your own test setups, and enhance our automation framework. Ideally, you have experience with telco test equipment and a solid understanding of IMS, LTE networks, and related protocols. To support our rapid growth, we are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team in Hamburg. In this role, you will work with technologies such as 4G, LTE, Transport networking, TCP/UDP, VoIP, and Video/IP protocols across various cloud platforms (Docker/Kubernetes). TASKS What you’ll do:   * Participate in System Testing: You will play a key role in our system testing activities by planning, performing, and executing a variety of tasks using a balanced approach that includes exploratory, pre-planned, and automated testing across functional, non-functional, and load aspects. * Manual and Automated Testing: You will conduct both manual and automated testing of our IMS, working with real handsets and developing automated test cases using advanced simulation tools. * Problem Analysis and Debugging: You will be responsible for analyzing and debugging issues across multiple, complex solutions, ensuring the reliability and performance of our systems. * Automated Test Execution: You will write and execute automated tests utilizing our in-house framework, along with essential tools such as SIPp, IxLoad, and Seagull. * Quality Assurance and Regression Testing: You will take ownership of the product testing process, ensuring the quality and readiness of new features, as well as existing ones, through comprehensive regression testing. * Framework Development and Debugging: You will contribute to the development and debugging of our Python-based in-house testing framework, ensuring its effectiveness and reliability. * Process Improvement: You will continuously help to refine and adapt our testing processes, concepts, and solutions, driving innovation and efficiency in our quality assurance practices. REQUIREMENTS Our Ideal New Colleague: * Hands-on QA Experience: You have solid experience in Software Quality Assurance Engineering, with proficiency in both manual and automated testing. * Test Automation Expertise: You are passionate about and experienced in high-level test automation design and implementation, including load testing scenarios, end-to-end testing, and regression testing. * Test Environment Setup: You have experience in setting up and configuring both hardware and software test environments, ensuring they are optimized for testing. * Programming and Scripting: You are skilled in programming and scripting, particularly in Python and Bash. Nice to Have: * Agile/Scrum Experience: You have experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment. * Modern Testing Approaches: You are familiar with modern testing methodologies, such as context-driven testing, rapid software testing, and session-based testing. * Containerization: You have experience in developing and deploying software using containers, specifically with Docker and Kubernetes. * Telecommunications Expertise: You have experience in the telecommunications industry, particularly with signaling standards like SIP and Diameter. * Industry-Specific Tools: You have experience with industry-specific test environments and tools, such as SIPp, and API testing tools like Postman. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * You will collaborate with sales and pre-sales to clarify requirements and design viable solutions and drive pursuits with technical stakeholders. * You will establish a clear vision and direction for the data paradigm/practices, aligning it with the overall business strategy. * You will collaborate with executive level stakeholders to understand their strategic objectives and identify opportunities to leverage data and data quality. * You will consult on complex data platform programs, synchronizing cross-cutting architectural concerns and providing client-facing technical leadership and guidance as a data subject matter expert. * You will be responsible to create, design and develop intricate data processing pipelines, addressing clients' most challenging problems. * You will collaborate with data scientists to design scalable implementation and production of their models. * You will write clean and iterative code based on TDD and leverage various continuous delivery practices to deploy, support and operate data pipelines. * You will design and implement the strategy around data governance, data security and data privacy to support business and compliance requirements. * You will represent Thoughtworks in various online and offline forums, including events and conferences. JOB QUALIFICATIONS TECHNICAL SKILLS * You must have extensive pre-sales experience and a proven ability to independently drive complex pursuits and create winning commercial proposals. * You have experience leading enterprise data strategy, system design, and the end-to-end implementation of large-scale technical solutions. * You are a native-level German speaker (C1) who is comfortable driving consensus and managing expectations with senior technical stakeholders. * You possess hands-on experience in system design using Domain-Driven Design principles for complex enterprise organizations with multiple domains. * Working with data excites you; you have designed Big Data architectures, built and operated data pipelines, and managed data storage within distributed systems. * You have a deep understanding of data modeling and practical experience with modern data engineering tools, platforms, and cloud warehousing solutions. * You are a "hands-on" leader—equally happy writing production-grade code as you are leading a team to implement a vision. * You have built and deployed large-scale data pipelines and data-centric applications using distributed storage and processing platforms in production environments. * You have experience designing and developing streaming solutions (Cloud or On-premise) leveraging leading technologies and industry best practices. * You have experience implementing data governance and security policies, complemented by a solid understanding of MLOps and data science concepts.
