Your work will span the entire lifecycle—from concept and construction to commissioning and troubleshooting—ensuring robust and efficient test solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with ECU specialists, test engineers, and system architects, using tools like Vector CANoe, CAPL scripting, and C#/Python to automate tests, simulate bus communication, and develop custom tooling. Your expertise in electronics, communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), and MAZE technology will be key to optimizing rig performance. Your main responsibilities Design, build, and maintain HIL/SIL test rigs from concept to operation Develop automated test scripts using CAPL, C#, and Python Configure and simulate bus communication (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) with Vector CANoe Interpret ECU specifications and translate requirements into rig design Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, ensuring rig reliability Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize test processes Document rig setups, test procedures, and maintenance protocols Your profile We’re looking for a proactive and structured engineer with a passion for test automation and embedded systems. In this role, you will contribute to the development and validation of future heavy-duty truck technologies, working with cutting-edge systems within ADAS, Active Safety, Driver Support, Efficiency, Productivity, and connected services. You will be involved throughout the entire product development process, from early concept verification to certification activities. Working in close collaboration with developers, system engineers, and cross-functional product teams, you will play a key role in ensuring that future vehicle technologies meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining hands-on vehicle testing with technical analysis and collaborative engineering. Key Responsibilities • Plan and execute vehicle testing activities throughout the product development lifecycle. • Perform testing of ADAS, Active Safety, Driver Support, Efficiency, Productivity, and connected service functions. • Prepare test vehicles by updating ECU software and configuring vehicle systems. • Install, configure, and maintain data logging and measurement equipment. • Collect, manage, and analyze vehicle data to support engineering development and data-driven decision making. • Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and fault tracing on vehicle electrical and electronic systems. • Support root cause investigations together with development and system engineering teams. • Contribute to certification and legal compliance activities, including Euro NCAP testing. • Document test results and communicate technical findings clearly to stakeholders. • Coordinate vehicle availability, test equipment, and daily test activities within the team. • Contribute to continuous improvements of testing methods, tools, and ways of working. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. • Experience in vehicle testing, validation, or product development within the automotive industry. • Good understanding of vehicle electrical and electronic systems. • Experience working with diagnostics, ECU software updates, or vehicle communication networks such as CAN. • Structured, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams. • Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken. Desirable: • Experience using vehicle logging, measurement, or data acquisition equipment. • Experience testing ADAS, Active Safety, Driver Support, or other advanced vehicle functions. • Knowledge of certification activities or regulatory testing, including Euro NCAP. • Experience supporting root cause investigations and technical troubleshooting. • Valid C-Class (Heavy Truck) driving licence is highly desirable.
