Learning Disabilities Support Worker - Bristol

We are looking for a personal assistant to support 4 gentlemen to live the lives they choose. The four men, aged from 62 to 78, live together in a supported living house in Staple Hill.    We’re looking for a personal assistant to help them to maintain their lives. Whilst independence is important, everyone needs your support with all aspects of their lives, from personal care, menu planning, cooking, household chores and shopping to achieving their goals and supporting them to access the local and wider community, as well as in-house activities such as baking art& crafts.   The gentlemen enjoy attending football matches, cricket matches, the local pub to play pool and darts, gardening and visiting places of interest to them.   Medication competency, support to recognise health issues and to attend health appointments is vital,   Shift patterns currently are 09:45 till 22:30 sleep-in then 06:30 till 10:00 the following day. We also have shifts available from 10:00 till 19:00 hour, which is to provide 1 to 1 support to enable the gentleman to fulfil their daily activities. We require staff to work flexibly to include sleep-in shifts, weekends and bank holidays.   We need you to be IT literate to use digital care plans and medication systems and attention to detail is vital.   Supporting everyone to communicate their needs means being observant of body language and behaviours as they may not be able to directly tell you what's going on.
