Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way. The Community You Will Join: At Airbnb, you’ll join a passionate, global community of finance, tech, and operations professionals who are united by a shared mission: to create a world where anyone can belong anywhere. As part of the Revenue Operations Team, you’ll be immersed in a collaborative environment that blends deep accounting expertise with innovative thinking around systems, data, and automation. The Difference You Will Make: In the role of Senior Manager, Airbnb Platform, Revenue Operations, the successful candidate will ensure that the proper financial processes, procedures and controls are in place to support the financial reporting and audit for Airbnb as it relates to the platform operations. This includes the development and ownership of processes and procedures, including documentation and testing, to monitor and manage the platform related accounts and entities. The role requires a well-rounded finance expert with broad financial, accounting and operational expertise and a track record of supporting cross-functional organizations through large scale growth and transformation. Excellent communication, resource allocation and people management skills are critical, as well as the ability to influence across functions and levels of leadership. In this role you will manage a multitude of high value accounts and will be required to balance the rapidly growing needs of the organization with finance and compliance objectives. The position reports to the Director, Platform Controlling. We are a forward-thinking Controllership team that embraces an AI-enabled mindset — leveraging technology, automation, and data to strengthen controls, accelerate reporting cycles, and unlock capacity for higher-value analysis. We hold a strong conviction that AI tools are preparers, not signers: every output is reviewed, validated, and owned by the human. A Typical Day: * Partner closely with finance teams to identify, assess and articulate the financial impact(s) of business changes. * Improve visibility for finance leadership into platform accounts and initiatives. * Partner with the platform SOX team to ensure risk identification and control mitigations are appropriate - design, implement, document and review controls to ensure they are functioning properly. * Develop relationships with key stakeholders in payments, compliance, legal and other partner and finance teams on the importance of engaging with Platform Controlling. * Lead the Revenue Operations team, and ensure all processes meet the close deadline. * Teach and mentor staff in accounting and finance on issues, including revenue technical accounting, GAAP guidance and best practices for documentation, partner engagement and operational processes. * Subject matter expert that partners seek out for guidance and insight. * Key areas of ownership - Invoicing, Accounts Receivable, Bad Debt, Gift Card program and Collections. Your Expertise: * 12+ years of finance and accounting experience, including management level experience in a large multinational organization. * 6+ years of relevant industry experience (tech, payments, marketplace(s), hospitality) in a high growth environment. * CPA or equivalent international certification, with Big 4 accounting firm experience, a plus. * Strong working knowledge of US GAAP. Proven track record of operationalizing technical accounting standards to satisfy business requirements. * Experience with large-scale ERP (Oracle, SAP, Workday), monetization and billing systems. Payments compliance and reconciliation system experience is a plus. * Polished communication skills and executive presence. Capable of translating complex business matters across functions and levels of leadership in a clear and concise manner. * Aptitude for collaboration and the ability to influence, mentor, and leverage the skills of others to achieve objectives. * Proven ability to successfully manage complex initiatives with cross-functional ownership. * Champion the team's AI enablement agenda by identifying, piloting, and scaling AI use cases across close, reporting, and reconciliation processes. * Design and maintain appropriate human-review checkpoints for all AI-assisted workflows, ensuring outputs meet audit-ready standards and SOX control requirements. * Partner cross-functionally with Finance leadership, BizTech, and the broader AI enablement initiative to develop accounting-specific use cases, training, and governance frameworks. * Passion for and proven track record of training and developing team members. * Proficient in MS Excel; Experience in SQL and Tableau a plus Your Location: This position is US - Remote Eligible. Total Compensation Range: €69,380 – €89,760 THE POSITION If you're excited about working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and passionate about Finance, this opportunity is for you! We're looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accounting & Reporting Manager to join our Finance team in Berlin. You'll take ownership of the group's most complex accounting topics: with a strong focus on monthly reporting, group consolidation, year-end procedures and audit readiness across our multi-entity European structure, while keeping the bigger picture in view at all times. Your mission: You'll be the go-to expert and sparring partner for demanding accounting and reporting topics, helping us maintain the highest standards in financial accuracy, compliance, and transparency across all entities. With your structured mindset and hands-on approach, you'll own complex processes end-to-end and contribute to a Finance team that runs its processes smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you will: * Take full ownership of the group consolidation process in Lucanet: eliminating intercompany differences, managing eliminations, and ensuring our consolidated financial data is consistent and audit-ready across all entities at all times. * Handle intercompany accounting end-to-end: including reconciliation and clear documentation of intercompany flows across the group's European entities. * Prepare and review complex accrual calculations, provisions and cost accruals, ensuring completeness and accuracy. * Drive AP & AR clean-up projects, identifying aged items, mispostings, and open reonciling items, and working cross-functionally to resolve them. * Support transfer pricing, preparing transfer pricing documentation in collaboration with our external tax advisors. * Be the sparring partner for our external auditors, handling audit queries and coordinating documentation. * Support the monthly reporting cycle by reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and intercompany positions: catching issues early and ensuring consistency across the group. * Contribute to the preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB). Of course, you will also: * Collaborate with the Finance team to support a smooth and efficient year-end closing process. * Continuously look for ways to improve and automate consolidation, reporting, and documentation workflows. * Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that elevate the quality and scalability of our Finance operations. * Closely collaborate with Billing and FP&A functions to ensure clean and accurate financial data, forming a strong basis for reliable reporting and audit readiness. YOUR PROFILE We know, sometimes, you can't tick every box. We would still love to hear from you if you think you're a good fit! * Experienced & Reliable: You bring 3-4 years of experience in (group) accounting, financial reporting, or audit. Experience at a Big 4 firm is a strong plus. * Expert in Group Accounting & Consolidation: You have solid, hands-on knowledge of HGB (German GAAP), group consolidation, month end close. You're comfortable owning these processes end-to-end in a multi-entity environment. * Detail-Oriented, and Big-Picture Aware: You take pride in getting the details right, but you also understand how individual accounting tasks connect to the broader financial reporting landscape. You use that perspective to prioritise, flag risks early, and add value beyond the immediate task. * Reviewing Mindset: You enjoy working through financial data and outputs with a critical, structured eye: identifying gaps and inconsistencies in a constructive, collaborative way. * Tool-Savvy: You've worked with tools like Lucanet and DATEV and feel confident navigating finance systems to streamline your work. * Communicator & Sparring Partner: You're proactive and confident working with colleagues, external auditors, and tax advisors, and you enjoy being a thought partner, not just an executor. * Language Skills: You're fluent in English and comfortable using it in meetings, reporting, and documentation. German is a strong plus. * Education & Mindset: You hold a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field and are motivated to grow in a dynamic, international environment.
