ABOUT WOLT At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we’re building the delivery of (almost) everything and you’ll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe. Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life. The Data Developer Experience team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build core services for our Data Platform. The team builds the Data Control Plane, a Go-based internal Terraform- or Kubernetes-like platform which allows users and other services to configure and operate Data Platform infrastructure. Our mission is to meet the massive data scaling needs of a global organization with a platform that is simple yet powerful, self-healing, agentic-safe, trustworthy, snappy, and cost efficient. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING * Designing - you align our ambitions and stakeholder needs on a feature level. You collaborate with the team to propose well fitting solutions using RFCs. * Building - you develop Go code with agents. The implementation may target a backend service, our plugin framework, CLI tooling, CI/CD pipelines, or even our React frontend app. * Documenting - you ensure high quality, curated markdown documentation for users, AI agents, and maintainers / on-call. * Operating - you strive for operational excellence with constant vigilance, proactivity, and on-call participation to ensure we provide a robust platform for business critical workloads. * Supporting - you understand the needs of diverse data platform users and guide them to golden paths. OUR HUMBLE EXPECTATIONS * You have a proven track record of designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems and/or platforms. * You bring deep experience with Go, but you possess a polyglot mindset and are happy to dive into Python or other languages when the problem calls for it. * You have hands-on experience building, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines. * You possess a strong foundational understanding of networking and security best practices. * You are familiar with data platform architecture and technologies, specifically columnar databases/storage and MPP engines. * You are passionate about Developer Experience and excel at balancing user needs with technical and platform constraints. * You actively leverage agentic coding as your preferred workflow to accelerate value delivery, while maintaining the critical eye needed to rigorously vet and secure code for robust systems. WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU * A rare opportunity to join a near-greenfield project building state-of-the-art, robust, scalable foundations for the future. * Work in a Big Tech-adjacent environment with brilliant colleagues, modern tooling and practices, and large scale. OUR COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION We’re committed to growing and empowering a more inclusive community within our company, industry, and cities. That’s why we hire and cultivate diverse teams of people from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We believe that true innovation happens when everyone has room at the table and the tools, resources, and opportunity to excel.
