As a Sr. Mechanical Engineer at INBRAIN you will lead the mechanical design and the development of an implantable component within
the product while overseeing the different stages of the development.
Currently, we are looking for 2 Senior Mechanical Engineers that would be focusing on development and design of active implantable
medical devices (Class 3) or similar in complexity.

As Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for; * Lead and contribute to cross-functional engineering teams to define, architect, and deliver advanced electro-mechanical systems from concept through production and sustainment * Own and drive system-level architecture and integration of electro-mechanical designs, ensuring alignment of electrical, mechanical, and functional requirements * Manage and control design scope, schedule, and cost, applying structured verification and validation methodologies across the product lifecycle * Architect and design electro-mechanical solutions, including electronics packaging, mechanical structures, and subsystem interfaces, to meet customer and regulatory requirements * Partner with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex technical and integration challenges * Apply expertise in materials, manufacturing processes, electronics packaging, coatings, and finishing techniques to enable robust system performance * Create, maintain, and review 3D CAD models, detailed component drawings, and system assemblies (PTC Creo preferred), ensuring design intent and interface integrity * Conduct root cause analysis and failure investigations, driving corrective actions and design improvements across subsystems * Maintain configuration management and system documentation within PLM tools, ensuring compliance with export control and regulatory requirements * Provide technical leadership and mentorship, guiding engineers in system-level thinking, integration practices, and best-in-class electro-mechanical design Qualifications; * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline * 15+ years of experience in electro-mechanical system design, with strong emphasis on electronics packaging and system integration * Experience in system architecture development and cross-domain design (mechanical, electrical, thermal) * Proficiency in 3D CAD and PLM tools (PTC Creo preferred), with focus on complex assemblies and interface control * Experience working in manufacturing environments, preferably in aerospace or other highly regulated industries * Familiarity with environmental and qualification standards (e.g., DO-160) * Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey system-level concepts, design intent, and technical decisions Salary Range: $150,000 - $170,000 Location: Everett, WA The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience Note: Due to the nature of the work, only US Persons (citizens or permanent residents) need apply for this position. About This Role We are seeking a seasoned Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of complex electro-mechanical medical devices. This role is integral to our product development lifecycle, from concept through validation and manufacturing transfer. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a passion for innovation in the medical device space. What You Will Do * May lead the design and development of complex electro-mechanical medical devices and equipment. * Generate expert-level 3D and 2D CAD data. * Develop and integrate high-functioning design prototypes with minimal guidance. * Execute prototype testing plans and ensure compliance with safety standards. * Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to junior engineers. * May direct internal resources and manage external development partners. * May function as the mechanical engineering lead on product development programs. * Ensure compliance with FDA, QSR, and ISO regulations. * Participate in business development activities, including proposal review and client engagement. Required Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. * Must have 4–6 years of relevant work experience in medical device development. * Thorough knowledge of product development and strong understanding of the medical device industry. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Strong analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to build functional prototypes. * Ability to solve moderate to complex technical problems. * Ability to solve problems of diverse scope. * Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. * Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively. * Familiarity with FDA, QSR, and ISO standards. * Ability to work independently with minimal guidance. Preferred Qualifications * Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing external partners. * Prior involvement in business development or input to proposals. * Advanced CAD proficiency and rapid prototyping experience. * Participation in audits and inspections for medical device projects.
