Responsibilities: • Cross-Platform Communication: Develop and implement communication strategies that highlight the benefits of emerging markets renewable energy and Alcazar’s energy platform, supported by in-depth market research, trend analysis, and content creation. Deliver commentaries and short-form content across multiple channels, including conferences, presentations, and digital platforms. • Content Creation: Write and manage the production of materials from concept to completion across diverse formats—white papers, articles, videos, podcasts, and social media. Ensuring consistency in messaging, voice, and editorial quality. • Public Relations and Media Strategy: Develop and execute a proactive PR strategy that enhances Alcazar's reputation in the private equity and renewable energy sectors. Cultivate relationships with key media outlets, industry influencers, and thought leaders to secure coverage and position Alcazar as a leader in sustainable infrastructure investment. Manage crisis communication and respond to media inquiries as needed. • Rebranding and Marketing Initiatives: Lead Alcazar Energy’s rebranding efforts, including the development of a refreshed brand identity that aligns with our strategic vision. Oversee marketing initiatives designed to elevate Alcazar's reputation within the renewable energy space, targeting key investor audiences and developers with bespoke content and branding efforts. • Private Equity/renewable energy Marketing: Create compelling marketing collateral that articulates Alcazar’s unique selling points in sustainable infrastructure to the private equity and investment community. This includes materials for investor presentations, offering documents, and updates on fund performance, as well as ESG and sustainability initiatives. • Industry Analysis: Monitor and synthesise key trends in renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, and private equity, particularly in emerging markets, for use in Alcazar’s communication channels and investor outreach. • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with Senior Leadership, investment professionals, and internal teams to align marketing efforts with broader business strategies. Collaborate with external agencies, designers, and media outlets where necessary. • Metrics and Reporting: Produce regular metrics reports that track the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and communication efforts, with a focus on investor engagement, and brand visibility. Relationship Management: • Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal stakeholders (Senior Leadership, investment professionals) and external stakeholders (investors, developers, media, and agencies). Qualifications and Skills: • 10+ years of PR/marketing and communications experience within asset management or private equity, with a focus on renewable energy or infrastructure, with proven content creation, project management, and strategic positioning capabilities. • Marketing degree preferred; CFA or equivalent certifications advantageous. • Expertise in infrastructure or renewable energy investment management products and services, ideally across multiple distribution channels. A strong interest or experience in ESG and emerging markets is highly desirable. • Strong multitasking abilities and comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Must be adept at managing ambiguity and complexity. • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to cultivate lasting relationships with senior executives and investors. • Demonstrated organisational, prioritisation, and time-management skills, with a focus on detail-oriented execution. • Ability to think strategically and translate strategy into actionable marketing tactics. RESPONSIBILITIES: ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS * Support in the development and implementation of the corporate ESMS, ensuring adequate cascading across all AE portfolio of projects at all stages * Oversee and support in the development of project-specific ESMSs to ensure alignment with ESIA, ESAP, employer requirements, investors, and lenders’ requirements * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international, regional, and local environmental and social standards and legislation, as well as rapidly evolving ESG frameworks and requirements * Coordinate/interface with internal resources or external consultants accordingly * Support in the required tasks to obtain and maintain ISO certifications * Environmental and Social Studies and Assessments * Conduct E&S screening assessments of potential investment opportunities at origination stage * Conduct E&S due diligence assessments, both internally and coordinating third party assessments by E&S consultants of potential investment opportunities * Support in the preparation of tenders, evaluation of proposals and selection of specialised consultants to perform ESIA studies and other related studies for projects * Coordinate the tasks of the E&S consultants, monitor the progress of the ESIA process and review deliverables, to ensure Project requirements are fulfilled on time, budget and with the right quality and up to the required standards (Corporate requirements and Lender standards) * Coordinate with the technical, project finance and investment team as well as in-country teams for the planning, execution and timely consideration of requirements * Support in the interface with Lenders E&S teams and Lenders E&S advisors * Coordinate required E&S activities at country level, directing local E&S representatives across all relevant E&S aspects including the process of land acquisition where applicable * Preparation of E&S components of tender submissions, evaluation and negotiation of E&S / QHSE contractual obligations with EPC / Suppliers / BOP and O&M contractors Project Planning, Execution & Operations * Provide early environmental and social support with planning and relevant consent applications * Guide and manage the development of the Project-specific ESMMPs by the EPC / Suppliers / BOP and O&M contractors in line with applicable ESG compliance framework * Oversee and monitor E&S performance of EPC / Suppliers / BOP and O&M contractors through site inspections, progress meetings, review of documentation and performance indicators for Projects under construction and operation * Oversee the process followed by the Contractor to identify, correct and prevent incidents, accidents, non-conformances and grievances * Develop monthly, quarterly and annual E&S internal and external monitoring reports * Maintain strong liaison with the Project team at Corporate level, Country level and Project level * Work closely with internal (QHSE, technical, investments, contracts, legal) & external stakeholders to identify and address E&S risks, and material & emerging issues * Coordinate required E&S activities at country level, directing local E&S representatives * Communicate project requirements, environmental & social procedures and standards to relevant parties and oversee their implementation * Balance works to be completed internally or sub-contracted Social Development & Investment * Support the development of the ‘social investment’ strategy in line with best international practice and specific operating guidelines (e.g. in human rights, community development framework, stakeholder engagement strategy) * Support the identification, assessment of feasibility, development, and implementation of social investment initiatives and projects across the AE portfolio, including activity steps, resourcing, budget requirements, and timelines * Manage and monitor the successful implementation of social investment initiatives while providing guidance, direction, and supervision of local E&S representatives; support them on engagement with local communities, including consultation and disclosure events, community meetings, evaluating, reporting, and resolving community grievances, and providing feedback to communities on issues * Participate in and monitor the implementation of stakeholder engagement plans * Establish collaborative and positive relationships with different stakeholders, particularly with local communities QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Environmental discipline, Engineering, International Development or equivalent experience Master’s degree in relevant subject Preferred Experience: * Minimum of 12 years’ experience in a similar role * Previous experience with a Developer, an E&S Consultancy, a development financial institution and/or international construction company * Significant experience in front-end environmental and social studies and assessments, particularly for renewable energy assets and preferably in wind and solar PV technologies * Significant proven experience in the development of ESMS including environmental, health & Safety, labour, social and quality management plans * Extensive experience working with IFC Performance Standards on Environmental & Social Sustainability, EBRD E&S Policy, EIB E&S Standards and E&S frameworks of development financial institutions and/or multilateral banks * Previous experience in emerging markets is a must, preferably in MENA and/or Western Balkans Job Specific Skills: * Proven ability to work in a team, self-motivated, with a collaborative and committed attitude and strong capacity to influence others while being diplomatic * Ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organisation and external stakeholders/parties * Quality focused with a strive for excellence and demonstrated report writing skills * Shares ideas and expertise proactively, provides feedback constructively, and demonstrates receptiveness to new thinking * Strong sense of ethics and integrity * Passionate about environmental protection and socio-economic development, with a strong affinity for working with communities and understanding of cultural sensitivities * Profound understanding of business impact on society/ecosystems and vice versa through previous multi-disciplinary experience (e.g. NGO, government, and corporate) * Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * Other spoken languages (i.e. Serbian, ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive, and the employee may be required to perform duties outside of those mentioned as operationally required and at the discretion of the Line Manager.
