The Opportunity

You will own and shape accounting across multiple countries in a fast-moving, global OTA — not just running the books but

rethinking how accounting creates strategic value. Partner closely with business leaders, tax authorities, auditors, external

advisors, and Agoda’s group brands to deliver timely reporting and enable new product and market launches across multiple legal

entities.

This role blends accounting leadership, projects, and internal consulting. You’ll lead cross-functional projects to improve

balance-sheet reconciliations, streamline one‑off adjustments, and design scalable end‑to‑end processes that reduce cycle times

and strengthen controls. You’ll also help craft a long‑term vision for the teams you influence and mentor colleagues to raise

technical and process capabilities.

timelines — turning novel ideas into production improvements that free the team for higher‑value analysis. If you’re motivated by

In this Role, you’ll get to:

Financial Accounts

Prepare complete details and accurate accounts for all entities, including a group consolidation

Manage month-end and year-end closes in a fast-paced, deadline-driven and regulated environment, and drive continuous

improvement of close processes

Report accurate, timely and insightful monthly management accounts and financial updates for management review

Motivate management accounting/nominal ledger team to take further responsibility for accounts input and preparation processes,

and ensure career development in a supportive manner

Manage and liaise with auditors, IT review and tax computation processes from planning to filing in an efficient and effective

manner

Collaborate with other finance managers to support overall department goals and objectives

Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department

Accounting Controls

Ensure accounting, associated IT systems and internal control environment are in compliance with Corporate policy as well as

SOX requirements and US GAAP.

Responsible for review of journal entries

Review reconciliations of all significant account balances including bank accounts and fixed assets, debtors and creditors, and

report significant exceptions to management

Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy, applying observations and recommendations to

operational issues

Tax

Understand key concepts of tax returns (i.e. corporate income tax, withholding tax and indirect taxes) in

foreign jurisdictions where the company has legal presence

Provide tax team with accurate information for the purpose of tax compliance in local and foreign jurisdictions

Projects

Manage and implement the Company’s initiatives and projects from finance and accounting perspective. This includes providing

requirements, designing and performing UAT, designing new workflow, monitoring post-go-live processes, and troubleshooting

Identify and drive process and technology improvement opportunities

What you’ll Need to Succeed:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

6+ years of accounting experience, with strong knowledge of full-set accounting and financial reporting.

Practical knowledge of internal controls and compliance and familiarity with international accounting standards.

Experience working with ERP systems and contributing to system, process improvement, or cross-functional projects.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to improve processes and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Excellent command of written and spoken English.

It’s good if you have.

Experience with Oracle ERP

Familiarity with US GAAP and practical experience with SOX

Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CA, CMA, or equivalent.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical accounting foundations with treasury-related experience and enjoys working in a fast-moving, international environment. In this role, you will take ownership of accounting activities related to treasury operations across multiple entities and jurisdictions, while also supporting broader finance controllership objectives. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and control over treasury-related balances and transactions, including cash, bank accounts, derivatives, hedge-related activities, and other treasury-driven reporting requirements. Beyond operational ownership, this role offers the opportunity to improve how treasury accounting is managed at scale. You will partner closely with Treasury, Controllership, Tax, Systems, and other Finance stakeholders to strengthen processes, enhance reporting, improve reconciliations, and build scalable controls in a dynamic global organization. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys a blend of technical accounting, treasury exposure, cross-functional collaboration, and process improvement. In This Role, You’ll Get To Treasury Accounting & Reporting * Own and oversee accounting activities related to treasury operations, including cash, bank accounts, intercompany funding flows, derivatives, and other treasury-related balances * Ensure treasury transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported in compliance with internal policies and applicable accounting standards * Support accounting analysis for hedge-related activities, including hedge effectiveness assessments, non-ACS hedge tracking, and related reporting requirements * Manage treasury-related month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness * Review and monitor treasury-related journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules * Support quarterly derivatives reporting, survey submissions, and responses to internal/group queries * Partner with treasury and finance stakeholders on options-related calculations, reporting, and accounting treatment where applicable Cash, Bank & Balance Sheet Control * Oversee reconciliation and review of significant treasury-related balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, cash movements, and other treasury-controlled balances * Ensure strong controls and visibility over daily cash-related reporting and liquidity-related accounting outputs * Investigate and resolve reconciling items, unusual movements, and treasury-related exceptions in a timely manner * Design and enhance control frameworks for treasury accounting processes to improve accuracy, transparency, and audit readiness * Support daily and periodic treasury reporting requirements, including analysis related to available liquidity / cash positioning and related finance reporting outputs Financial Accounting & Close * Prepare complete and accurate accounts for assigned entities, including support for group consolidation and statutory reporting requirements * Manage month-end and year-end close activities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and regulated environment * Deliver accurate, timely, and insightful financial information for management review * Support broader accounting operations and advise on non-routine accounting transactions with treasury implications * Collaborate with other finance managers to support department goals, reporting quality, and continuous improvement initiatives Controls, Compliance & Audit * Ensure treasury accounting processes, associated systems, and internal control environments follow corporate policy, SOX requirements, and applicable accounting guidance including US GAAP where relevant * Maintain high-quality documentation to support audits, internal reviews, and compliance requirements * Partner with auditors and internal stakeholders on treasury-related audits, controls testing, and documentation requests * Identify control gaps and implement practical improvements to strengthen governance and reduce risk Projects & Process Improvement * Lead and support finance initiatives and projects related to treasury accounting, reporting, systems, and process enhancements * Work closely with Treasury, Finance Systems, and Controllership teams to improve workflows, automate manual processes, and strengthen data quality * Support requirements gathering, UAT, workflow design, post-go-live monitoring, and issue resolution for treasury-related finance initiatives * Identify opportunities to simplify recurring reporting, improve hedge and derivatives tracking, and enhance treasury-related reconciliations and analytics * Contribute to the exploration of automation and AI-enabled solutions to improve accounting efficiency and control What You’ll Need to Succeed * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field * 6+ years of experience in accounting, treasury accounting, or finance controllership * Strong knowledge of full-set accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial You will play a key role in identifying improvement opportunities, implementing best-in-class solutions, and supporting our journey towards building a world-class finance operations center. Key Responsibilities * Process Improvement & Transformation: Analyze, design, and implement process improvements across finance operations (AP, AR, GL, payments, reconciliations, etc.) to drive efficiency, accuracy, and business value. Be comfortable in executing VSMs and Kaizens independently. Be conversant with the latest trends in process improvement leveraging AI/ML and GenAI * Data Analysis & Insights: Leverage data analytics to identify trends, root causes (using lean methods), and improvement opportunities. Develop dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs and process health. * Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement: Support and/or lead cross-functional projects with finance, product, tech and business teams independently, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and effective stakeholder communication. * Automation & Technology Enablement: Create macro-based solutions and/or collaborate with technology teams to automate manual processes using RPA, workflow tools, and other digital solutions. * Documentation & Training: Develop and maintain process documentation, SOPs, and training materials to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance. Be conversant with BPMN standards & tools of process documentation * Quality & Controls: Identify and support the implementation of internal controls and quality assurance measures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance. What You’ll Need to Succeed Technical & Functional Skills * Experience with process mapping, process reengineering, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies * Solid understanding of finance operations processes (OTC, PTP and RTR). Experience as a User of these processes is a plus.   * Strong analytical skills; ability to work with large datasets, perform detailed root cause analysis, and generate actionable insights and improvement plans. * Skilled at creating Excel macros to automate processes is preferred * Proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). * Familiarity with finance systems (ERP, SAP, Oracle, etc.) and automation tools (RPA, Alteryx, UiPath, etc.) is highly desirable.
