You are passionate about simple solutions to complex problems, whether they are product or software. You thrive on growing and enabling people to have the biggest impact possible. You have designed and built complex and mission-critical products and systems, and have seen them scale from 1 engineer to one team and to multiple teams. You've been a consistent example of high standards, growth mindset, and teamwork for your entire team. As Head of Engineering, you will report to Mathias, our co-CEO, and work hand-in-hand with him and the Product team to grow the team from a flat structure to mission-defined teams. You will be responsible for all software delivery and for goal-setting for engineering. You will recruit, support, and scale our culture of product engineering, innovation, and pragmatism within Engineering.

The Role You will lead and develop our Engineering organization, helping teams operate with greater clarity, accountability, and effectiveness. Your mission is to ensure our software engineering runs reliably today while building the foundation for future growth. You will help the team deliver predictably, raise quality and ownership, and connect software engineering decisions closely to customer and business needs. You will shape the evolution of our AI-assisted software development lifecycle, driving Engineering to embrace and adopt new ways of building software while ensuring high quality, robustness and reliability, and at substantially increased speed. You will work closely with Product, Machine Learning, Clinical and QA/Regulatory teams. What You Bring * 5-10 years of experience leading and developing software engineering teams * Strong coaching, mentoring, and people management skills * A proven track record of building high-performing teams * Experience improving execution, delivery, and organizational effectiveness * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills * A software engineering background with sufficient technical credibility to work effectively with senior engineers * A pragmatic, hands-on approach and a strong sense of ownership * A strong ownership mindset and willingness to take responsibility beyond the boundaries of Engineering. * Curiosity to explore the impact of AI-assistance on software development and the will to reshape the tech industry, including your own role.
