Position Overview: The Operations Manager role will serve as a critical operations leader within the Reconditioning Special Operations team and be a main resource when on-the-ground at Inspection Centers, supporting ADESA Megasite Integrations. What you’ll be doing: * Ensure successful execution of site integration strategy by effectively managing RSO Teams and Carvana and Adesa associates through the setup and training of each department (operating system, proper tools, training resources, equipment, etc). * Ensure local site teams have all of the necessary tools and training to successfully launch production and implement new processes/procedures in new and existing IC facilities. * Project manage all key aspects of RSO Team initiatives while on site. * Act as a main point-of-contact and resource for all RSO Team members on assignment. * Lead or support continuous improvement projects as needed. * When not traveling, able to support a site’s operations by overseeing multiple reconditioning lines; identifying bottlenecks that affect site throughput and efficiency; conducting root cause analysis, action plans and site execution; and conducting site performance reviews with Senior Reconditioning leadership. Able to fully manage a facility in achievement of targets in production, cost and quality. * Other duties as assigned. What the job requires: To be able to do your job at Carvana, there are some basic requirements we want to share with you. * Ability to travel 80% of the time. * Demonstrated strength across Reconditioning competencies, particularly Communication, Teamwork, and Reasoning. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. * Ability to maintain high volume and high-quality content in a fast-paced environment. * Experience leading a team of over 50 associates and a track record of developing employees. * Proven ability to solve urgent operational challenges through root cause analysis. * Excellent communication skills. * 8+ years of management experience either in an automotive or lean manufacturing environment. * Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUIs and no more than two moving violations in the last 3 years). * Must be open to relocation, ideally nationwide but at minimum regionally (Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, West Coast). * Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. * Must be at least 18 years of age. * Requires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance. * Requires use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment. * Ability to work variable schedule(s) as necessary. * Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels. * Must be able to walk up to three miles each day. WHAT YOU’LL DO Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following: * Lead all supplier quality planning and execution of manufacturing, assembly techniques and quality control processes from the advanced development phase to serial production * Lead and oversee all quality performance and functional standards quality in all vehicle activities are met in the supply chain to ensure Customer satisfaction. * Ensure professional business acumen of SQEs at Suppliers to ensure Scout’s Quality expectations and core values are met and that suppliers can meet the industrialization related activities on time with the Supplier Quality team * Responsible that suppliers will meet industrialization, to schedule, and at cost to ensure quality. * Responsible for Supplier PPAPs and ongoing activities within the supply chain * Work as a partner with the Supply chain to ensure escalations of issues are raised and resolutions are solved in a timely manner * Lead supplier improvements in cost, quality and manufacturability * Responsible for ensuring supplier audits and corrective actions are completed on time * Collaborate with Scout’s Design, Quality, and Manufacturing to determine the ideal performance specifications and supplier metrics * Accountable for ongoing monitoring supplier manufacturing process development, launch readiness for new products and design changes * Drive continuous improvement activities utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles * Ensure suppliers have exceptionally robust processes and procedures to promote mass industrialization through efficient and seamless production of high-quality products * Build a team of Supplier Quality professionals to ensure the utmost caliber of supplier audits are conducted and build partnerships within the supply chain * Develop and provide leadership to the Supplier Quality members of your team and oversee daily operations. * Mentor team members, foster a culture of learning, and facilitate skill development to enhance the capabilities of the Supplier Quality team. * Work cross functionally with other departments within Scout * Perform other duties as assigned.
